The lighting in the area became a bit darker, due to the patchy dark clouds that were moving in front of the Sun. Blaze looked up. The horizon was covered with clouds. An upcoming storm is the last thing she needs. But, it must be one of the last storms for the season, being that it almost summer. Blaze turned her gaze to the direction of her den. I guess I'll be staying inside tonight. Avoiding the rain... she sighed. Rain is okay. Not fun, but it is necessary. But many times in the spring, along with rain, comes the roaring in the clouds, and the flashing white fire in the sky. It frightened her sometimes, and if there wasn't enough rain, the white fire would start a red fire. And those were deadly most of the time. Her worries grew as she thought about the storm that might be coming. Flashbacks of her old home were coming back. That one storm... the red, blazing fire. That night, she lost her father and her brother. Two of the most important things in life. But thanks to her mother, she had survived, and now lives in a seemingly much safer place. Blaze shook her head and began to pad back to her den. Another raindrop fell on her ear. And a few minutes later, another. The storm was slowly beginning. Starting at a few small drops, then more and more. It wasn't enough to soak through her fur... yet.

Luna began to feel the raindrops falling onto her back, increasing more and more as time past. She looked up into the sky. The sun was partially blocked by grey clouds as they completely covered the horizon. "A-a storm?! How did I not notice before?" she stuttered quietly to herself. Fear began to pierce through her like a hawks talons, sinking into it's prey. "What do I do!? I'm nowhere near home and the storms already starting!" panicked, Luna dashed as fast as she could, searching for somewhere to hide, until the storm subdues. But as the storm grew, rain began to plummet harder onto Luna, drenching her fur completely. At this point she didn't really care if her fur was drenched or not, she just needed a safe place to hide before "it" came. "Lightning.." she breathed heavily. It was her worst fear ever since she was a pup. Her memories rapidly flooded back to her. She was still very young when it happened.. Not knowing a lot about the world and its cruelty.. How it killed her mother in attempts to save her life. Lightning was not only something she feared, but something she despised. If she could kill it, she would.

Blaze grunted as the rain became heavier. Time to go inside. She trotted to her den entrance and ducked in. The cool walls pressed against her thick orange fur, making the water sleep through to her skin. As she slowly padded along, the ground slowly sloped down a little bit, and the walls grew wider until Blaze stopped in front of a large cave. It was dark, but her eyes were already adjusted. The pool of freshwater near the back of the cave had stalactites hanging above it, with a few hidden crystals in them. This cave wasn't a very old den to Blaze. She had come seemingly less than a moon ago, though it was likely longer. The sounds of the rain had faded by now, likely lost in the tight tunnel that led here. Curious, Blaze padded back through the tunnel to keep an eye on the storm. As expected, the rain still pattered on the ground, steadily getting heavier. Suddenly, Blaze saw a black object dashing through the brush. It's lithe shape was slightly familiar. Even though the rain covered it's scent, she knew exactly what- or who -was there. Luna. "That idiot! She's going to get injured running around like that in this weather!" Blaze growled quietly. Her orange muzzle just barely poked out for the entrance, and she felt a few drops of rain hitting her black nose. Not wanting to get involved, Blaze pulled in her muzzle, hoping that her orange face wouldn't stand out.

Luna kept running despite the pain in her limbs, and her drenched fur threatening to give her a cold. She had lost Blaze's scent awhile ago, but she still kept looking, hoping to find her, or shelter along the way. Suddenly, Luna tripped in the mud and fell face first to the ground. Covered in mud, she groaned and sluggishly got up. She tried to walk on her right paw, but seemed to of sprained it during her fall. "Dammit. How am I supposed to find somewhere to hide now?" she cried. She looked around to see a large cave that she had somehow missed in her search to safety. "How did I not notice that before?? Let's just hope nothing unfriendly is in there.." she muttered to herself while slowly limping toward the cave, not noticing Blaze's presence at all.

~ Luna's sense of smell gets pretty messed up in storms, so she can barely sense anything. ~

Blaze Twitched her tail. "Geez. And I thought us foxes were supposed to be swift." She snickered as she saw Luna faceplanted into the mud. The black Fox, not brine with mud, came towards her cave. She backed into the larger part, the shadows so dark that even her bright orange coat was hidden. As she waited for Luna to come in, she saw a quick flash of white light come from the tunnel. Seconds later, a loud boom roared across the sky. Blaze jumped a little, but kept relatively still. From in the cave, the hard rain sounded like a gentle shower, quietly patterning on the ground outside and echoing around the stone walls. Another flash and bang startled Blaze. White fire... good thing it's raining.

Luna was on her way to the cave when she saw a quick flash of light that illuminated the sky. She quickly swung her head towards the sky just in time to hear the lightning strike a few seconds afterward. She immediately froze in fear. Her body had completely locked up and refused to move an inch. She was paralyzed. "Oh god.. Not now.. I-I don't want to die.." she quietly cried to herself. As the lighting stroked again, Luna's tears began to stream down her face, mixing in with the rain and mud covering her entire body.

Blaze heard Luna quietly making noises. She flicked her ears and got up. Lightning flashed again, followed by another ferocious roar of thunder. Laura's scent lingered just in the entrance. "Come in or go away. I advise staying out of that monstrosity." Blaze mumbled from the shadows. "Oh, and by the way, you look like ****." Another flash of lightning illuminated her face as she turned around and padded back into the cave.

Luna looked in the direction of where the voice was coming from. "B-Blaze?" she stuttered as she slowly got up and limply followed her into the cave. She stood at the entrance and shook her fur, trying to be polite and not track too much mud into the cave. "I-I apologize for my filthiness. It's been kind of a rough day..." she sighed quietly.

Blaze dipped her head. "That's fine. Just don't get it everywhere. Now, you coming?" She padded into the cave and sat down. "What were you doing, any way?" Blaze looked at Luna as if she was a lunatic. "Being out in that could get you killed."

Luna followed Blaze into the cave and sat down across from her. "I-I was looking for you.." She stuttered nervously.
