Snowdrift sat back on her haunches near the entrance of the den, her pale eyes narrowed as she glared out the den; watching to make sure that no others would try peer into the den to seek a peek of the visitor inside the den. From where she sat she noticed many sparing quick glances in the direction of the medicine cat cat, but none of them were brave enough to come any closer. They had all already seen what happened to the two apprentices when they got too close and it seemed none of them wanted to hear Snowdrift's harsh words.

As Orangefury spoke she growled, turning her head to glare at the calico pelted tom. "Those two are a pair of troublemakers." She muttered, remembering when they had once put thorns in her nest; which left her annoyed and covered in scratches. "I don't know how their mentors can handle them." She added as she quickly glanced out of the den, almost expecting to see the two apprentices wandering nearby.

Although Snowdrift found the two very annoying, she found that it was just the normal thing for them to do at their age; all apprentices went through a troublesome stage. Too busy watching to make sure the apprentices wouldn't return she didn't exactly hear Orangefury's comment and ended up mumbling an agreement. Her gaze continued to wander until it landed on the nursery, sure, she didn't like the apprentices that much, but no one could deny that Snowdrift didn't love kits. She often visited the nursery, whether it be to clean their nests, bring the food or even just to chat. She liked the atmosphere inside the nursery.

Subconsciously, a small smile had appeared but as she was brought back into reality, it quickly faded and she turned to looked back at Orangefury. "Are you okay to walk or do I have to fetch Aspenstar?" She meowed, sparing a quick glance to the leader's den where Aspenstar was probably resting. However, it seemed her guess was wrong as Foxfang emerged from the den, it wasn't very hard to miss the deputy as his ginger fur stood out against the crowd.

Moments after Foxfang appeared, Aspenstar did. Her harsh green eyes narrowed as she gaze immediately turned to the medicine cat den. "It seems Aspenstar already knows you're here." She mused quietly as she swiftly exited the den to meet the leader halfway across the camp.

"Apparently you brought a loner to camp." The dark grey tabby stated as she glanced towards the medicine cat den.

Snowdrift gave a small nod of her head, "yes I did. He's with Bumblefoot right now." She meowed, turning to lead the leader to the den, but she couldn't help but notice the questioning look on her face. "I tackled him out of a tree." Snowdrift supplied quickly as she entered the den, stepping aside to let Aspenstar enter after her.

"Orangefury, this is Aspenstar, leader of IceClan." Snowdrift meowed to Orangefury.

Orangefury may be many things; a flirt, a strategist, a pacifist, daring, courageous, stupid, brave. But Orangefury was definitely not a bootlicker.

He may honey his words, tell white lies but never ever hide his true opinions - till now.

The presence of Iceclan's leader sent shivers down his spine. Not of fear but pure bloodlust. It took a lot of patience and strength to hold back from revealing his true intentions; stopping the smirk halfway, sheathing his trembling claws.

He felt his knees give way, his forearms stretching outwards as he lowered his body meekly. His head bowed down, nose scrapping across the dirt as he hid the disgusted scowl on his face. His dignity and pride screamed in indignation - he clamped down on his boiling emotions, locked them behind iron bars for this was only the start of the game. If only he be patient, the meal would be much, much more satisfying than acting on impulse now.

"M'lady." the calico purred, his head lifting from his position as he straightened from his bow. "It's an honor to meet the leader of such a magnificent group." he smiled innocently, tucking his injured arm closer to his body. "I didn't mean to intrude on your territory - I'm just a traveling wanderer who is in need of some shelter and rest. I'm terribly sorry if I caused any..." his eyes flashed towards Snowdrift and his lips curled lightly in a small smirk. "...problems."

Snowdrift knew there was no need for her to feel so uncomfortable in Aspenstar's presence, but somehow this felt different, and her body was stiff; she was agitated. Snowdrift knew her leader was strong and ruthless, and she knew all too well that Aspenstar had no tolerance for misbehaving. It was Aspenstar overall that had shaped IceClan to be the cats they were today; feared to be cold and ruthless warriors. As much as that so called 'title' would make them seem strong, it wasn't the case. They were just like any other clan; dependent on one other and loyal. Their only duty was to serve their clan and defend their borders against loners, rogues, other creatures and most importantly; the FireClan cats.

As Orangefury bowed to Aspenstar, for Orangefury's sake, she began to silently beg that the calico tom wouldn't say something that would offend or irritate the dark grey tabby. Snowdrift already knew the possible consequences that may occur if Orangefury did do something stupid. Curiously, her eyes narrowed as she watched him straighten up and speak. His words seemed to easily slip off his tongue and she couldn't help but scowl. Surely something has to make him uneasy?

Snowdrift sat back on her haunches, her gaze shifting to look towards Aspenstar. To say she was surprised would have been an understatement; Aspenstar, in fact, had the smallest of smirks spread across her muzzle. Obviously, she had been amused by Orangefury's words. "We would give shelter to any cat, such as yourself," Aspenstar began, her voice was soft as was her expression, but it quickly hardened. "However, if you do happen to cause any troubles, my warriors won't hesitate to chase you from our territory." She added, looking to Snowdrift who straightened up under the leader's gaze.

"For now, Snowdrift will guard you." Aspenstar mewed, purposely ignore the look of shock and annoyance on Snowdrift's face. "I can't trust you to wander around our territory unguarded." She explained as she returned her gaze to the calico tom. "I assume you'll stay with us until you are fully healed and then after that, I'll expect you'll be on your way." She continued, not missing a single beat. The dark tabby raised her chin slightly, "before I leave, do you have any questions or complaints?"

Instantly, Snowdrift had to bite her tongue; not too pleased that she, out of all cats was the one that had to guard this tom. She didn't know how she'd even survive with his yapping and flirtatious behavior, she'd be mad by the end of the moon!

Pushing aside that reluctance to guard the tom, she accepted that fact that she had no other choice and instead sat silently. Waiting for Orangefury to ask questions or for Aspenstar to leave.

He did not miss the clear warning in her words and had barely held in his smirk at her threat of chasing him out if he stepped out of the line. Things were getting interesting and his blood was boiling with anticipation under his skin. His mind dreaming up the many possible beautiful ways the clan could rumble from within... He nearly missed Aspenstar's next word and the calico quickly straightened up and meowed his agreement to cover his slip in attention.

"Of course. I, too, do not wish to disturb you and your clan for long." I don't need long to collect information anyways. "I am honored to be accompanied by your great and angelic warrior there." Orangefury smirked at Snowdrift's obvious show of disbelief and horror, his tail curling smugly by the side. Oh and on top of successfully infiltrating the enemy's camp, he gets to tease the cute lady during his stay here as well? Could this day get any better? "I do actually." he meowed softly just as Aspenstar asked if there was any need for clarifications.

"It'd be terribly boring to be confined to a den as I healed," he started softly, yellow eyes roaming around the area of camp. "-not that your facilities are lacking anywhere." he added smoothly, before returning his gaze to the leader's. "But being a traveller all my life, I get the itches when I stay unmoving for too long if you get what I mean." he smiled. "Therefore, I would humbly request to explore the ways of your clan with your permission. I promise I shall not hinder your warriors and the general function of your clan in any way."

His eyes rested on the pale colored warrior's form and his lips twitched up. "And of course, my gorgeous escort would be hounding my every move and no doubt would report to you if anything goes wrong."

Now that the offer is on the table he wondered if Aspenstar would trust a stranger enough to let him free range around Iceclan's territory. While it wasn't like he couldn't continue his undercover work while being restricted in camp, it would be nice to go on patrols once in a while - to find some familiarity with the normal mundane jobs and learn more about individual cats.

Snowdrift was forced to bite her tongue to stop herself from growling aloud when Orangefury's words sunk in, and when she glanced up, the smirk on his face only annoyed her even more. She just didn't know how one tom could be so irritating. Snowdrift's tail curled around her front paws, she knew she couldn't let her temper get the better of her, it was obviously far too late for that now. Her temper had landed her in this situation and there now no way for her to get out of it now.

Releasing a soft sigh, she shifted her position, ignoring the stiffness in some of her muscles from all the tension. Snowdrift wanted nothing more then to curl up in a ball and drift off into a peaceful sleep, but now that he was here, she didn't think that she would get a good night's sleep for a while.

As Orangefury spoke, her gaze returned to him. Had it been her choice, she would have confined him to the camp, but it wasn't her choice, much to her disappointment. As Orangefury finished, she glanced towards Aspenstar, curious of what her leader would decide.

The dark grey she-cat nodded, "I will not force any cat to be confined to a den, therefore, I will allow you to wander outside the camp." She mewed, briefly glancing towards Snowdrift. "As you said so yourself, Snowdrift will most definitely accompany you." She said, once again, ignoring the look of irritation on the white she-cat's face. "So I suggest you don't do anything mouse-brained." She added, swiftly turning and heading to the exit.

The moment Aspenstar was out of earshot, Snowdrift turned to glare at Orangefury. "I hate you." She meowed childishly, huffing with annoyance. As her stomach grumbled quietly, Snowdrift rose to stand, ducking her head down slightly to avoid hitting the roof of the den. "I'm going to go get something to eat, you can go get yourself some food if you're hungry." She turned to the exit, but paused to look back.

"Or are you in so much pain that you're unable to move?" She sneered, her tail lashing once as she peered outside the den.
