---------- jackson had been gracefully given a day off -- so he remained in his off-campus dormitory until about one thirty, catching up on his sleep until eight or so, and then his psychology homework. he had been so involved in his work, he even skipped breakfast, which, if he had been home, would've been an abomination big enough, his mother would have dragged him into the kitchen by his ear and sat him down, shoveling spoonful after spoonful of her homemade oatmeal.
---------- he almost missed that. but from the start, he always knew he wouldn't miss the country-boy life. maybe, when he was in his fifties, he would take over the family-farm, after his older brother had to retire. maybe then, he would be done helping troubled people fix their problems. but until then, he was planning on sticking to bigger cities.
---------- jackson wasn't expecting a text. most people were in classes [at least, he thought] until three or later. he picked up his phone, and had to smile; one of his closest friends bid him to join without flat out saying it -- that seemed to be how Rory worked. might as well get out of this stuffy room, jackson thought with a snort. meet you there. he replied, trying not to laugh at his own physical appearance. he hadn't changed out of his pajamas.
---------- jackson deposited his phone on the table, and set to work making himself look like he hadn't just gone through a vacuum. he took a ten minute shower, changed his clothes to a shirt, jeans, and vans [deciding last minute to leave his jacket behind] put the phone back in his pocket with his keys, and left the house.
---------- the twenty-two year old knew the campus like he knew the small town he was from; it was somewhat easy to navigate, once you got the hang of it. he knew where the bookstores were, and the libraries and small places to sit and study without being disturbed. he also knew of a little cafe he and his friends tended to sit within named "cafe de la musique". it was a quiet place they all enjoyed, and strangely, jackson liked their coffee [something he was always extremely picky about]. besides; the warm atmosphere and scent of freshly ground coffee beans always made him slightly warm inside himself -- a calm feeling he particularly enjoyed.
---------- jackson crossed the threshold and into the little cafe he knew his friend would be in. from the corner of his eye, he saw her sitting with none other than the annoying vivienne. oh well. she was easy to ignore. what it was about viv that annoyed jackson was beyond his understanding. they were fairly similar in degrees; she wanted to go into humanities and he was a psychology guy. maybe it was her "bluntly honest" and "impulsive" streak that annoyed him and made him wish she would just go away, but because his momma raised him to keep his tongue unless provoked, jackson wouldn't ever say anything. he just ordered a coffee and sat down across from the two girls. "afternoon," he said with a sip.

cool with the tambourine Rory looked up from her book, grinning. "Oh you drama queen, it's not studying if I'm just casually reading a book on a subject I happen to love," she said lightly, sipping her hot chocolate and looking outside. Leaves danced around the streets and a particularly gusty breeze caused a flurry of them from the nearby park to glide through the air. Her head turned as she saw Jackson sit across from her out of the corner of her eye, and a smile lit up her face. Jackson could always put up with her, but then she wasn't as hard to put up with, out of all of the people she happened to be associated with in whatever form.
She glanced over at Vivienne, knowing that she'd probably be a bit too rambunctious for his taste. Aurora wasn't as close with her, but she was the type to give the benefit of the doubt unless it had already been taken advantage of. With a sweet smile toward the man across from her, she closed her book and put it to the side so to give her friends full attention. She noted that Zack, a guy she found slightly adorable, was here also, but of course she was discreet as always. "Great to see you made it, Jackson," she said lightly, brown eyes glancing him over. He was calm as he always was; nothing really seemed to upset him, and if it did, it was on rare occasion. "How are you two doing?"
Leaning back in the booth, Aurora bit her lip. Where was her brother? Really she shouldn't fret so much, but the university housing they lived in wasn't that far from this cafe. He should be here by now, they went here nearly every day. He wasn't getting into trouble, at least she hoped he wasn't.

Josiah faced downwards, studying his leather shoes as he headed towards the cafè. Aurora had texted him not long ago, about meeting there but the solitude male was already on his way, hands tucked into his jeans. Pushing into the cafè, he glanced around briefly before spotting Aurora conversing with Jackson and Vivienne. Slowly, he strode over to the trio, lifting up his head once to mutter a quick greeting before showing them a quick smile. "Hey guys." The loner's voice was as warm and welcoming as ever, then he wondered if it was because Aurora was there. Quickly shaking off the thought, he tried to act as casual as possible, shooting an awkward smile at Vivienne, but blinked warmly at Aurora and smirked at Jackson.
Josiah was always awkward around Vivienne, he wanted to stop that since she was Aurora's friend, but he couldn't help it. After greeting them he regained his posture and raised his head to be level with everyone else's. Silently glad that Aurora's brother wasn't here, his thoughts drifted to why he was so difficult. What would that pierced freak gain out of teasing him? That he would never understand, so instead he focused on his friends. Conscious that he was still standing, the well-mannered guy didn't try and grab a seat, but his gaze drifted over to Amelia's hot chocolate.

"If you get tested in it, it's studying my darling."Vivienne replied stubbornly, resting her chin on her arms with a yawn. "It is too early for this.." She muttered dramatically, perking up only slightly at Jackson's arrival. "Dearest adversary." She greeted him with a sly grin before jumping to her feet. "I need caffeine.." The brunette murmured this before scurrying toward the huddle of people disguised as a line near the front counter. Sitting still wasn't something she did well. She was one of those people who needed to run instead of walking and dance instead of standing.
Vivienne wasn't quite sure how she felt about Jackson. He was fairly harmless, but more of a face she saw in the hallways than someone she could freely harass. Not truly harassment, but more of her own personal term for communication. It was a bit more accurate to how she saw herself upon interaction. On normal days, Jackson seemed content to simply pretend she didn't exist. She wouldn't be surprised if he walked right through her on his way to class, given the persistent performance.
She ordered her drink, an iced caramel latte, and retreated to her seat just in time to cross paths with Josiah. "Morning love." She greeted the violinist with a warm smile, reclaiming her seat next to Aurora. Coffee in hand, she practically purred in content at the taste of the first sip. "So," she ran a hand through her long ebony locks in a casual gesture. "What is the daily agenda?" She tilted her head in feline inquiry. Vivienne sipped her coffee, watching Josiah.

cool with the tambourine Forcing her mind away from Zack, she did her best not to look all misty-eyed and dreamy like she did whenever she was thinking about someone she liked. It got her all goofy and weird and it was way too obvious. "Oh hush, Vivienne, it's not studying if I like the class and the subject. I wouldn't be taking it otherwise. It's free reading." She then smiled at Josiah, pulling him down on the other side of her while Vivienne was up getting her caffeine rush for the day. "Hiya Jos, we haven't been doing much, so you're not interrupting anything." She sipped her hot chocolate, a bright smile on her face.
She then glanced at Viv and rolled her eyes before grinning at each of them in turn. "Well, I was planning on just relaxing, I don't have any classes for the rest of the day, so just hanging out is definitely an option. Or you guys could come over to my student housing; Viv lives with me anyway, and I don't think my brother will be there for the afternoon, so he shouldn't bother us... I have movies and plenty of other things to do." Silently, she was thinking, Where in the world is that boy, if he's getting himself into trouble I'm going to kick his... Forcing herself not to finish this thought, she smiled weakly at the others.
Taking a deep breath, she sipped her beverage, noticing it was already almost gone. Drinking something helped her relax, especially when she was tense or nervous. So, of course now she was gripping the mug tightly.

Zack took a sip of his Root Beer and set it down on a coaster. He reached over on the back of his chair and pulled out a blank piece of paper and a sharp pencil. Tapping the eraser on the table, he was using his imaginary piano that was inside of his head. Nodding, Zack scribbled down some random notes and hummed them quietly in a peaceful tune.
Lifting his head, he looked outside of the window. "How come they aren't here yet...?" he muttered to himself and sighed, turning back to his paper with music notes on it. He couldn't think of anything else so he put both items back into his backpack and rested his chin on the table, soon raising it up again, feeling his phone vibrate in his back pocket. Grabbing his phone, he looked at it and it was a message from his mum. Replying back in a split second, he put his phone back into his pocket and continued on waiting for his friends.

[size=85] Vivienne smirked watching her friend drool over Zack. Personally, she didn't understand the attraction. But it was nonetheless entertaining to see Aurora go all dreamy-eyed over someone. "You're doing it again." She murmured under her breath, just loud enough that only Rory would hear her. Taking another sip from her coffee, she grinned. "Why don't you just talk to him?" She teased at the same volume as before.
She scoffed at the mention of movies, "
You have a few movies. I have a library." She quipped, folding her arms across her chest. Student housing had limited her collection, but collecting movies were a passion of hers. The idea of their little group settling down in the living room with a movie was a nice image to entertain, causing her to smile inwardly a bit. She swirled her coffee in it's mug, watching the ice duck and dive under the caramel-coloured liquid.
