The spotted tabby then forced a smile onto her face and mewed, "Sorry, I hope I didn't just spoil your evening for you. What is your Clan's territory like?"

"That's wonderful news!" Ashenclaw meowed. "Has your Clan been preparing for the leaf-bare? I know mine could have done a little better with the patching of dens and such - we've been quite busy."

Appleheart's face lit up at the news. "Oh StarClan, this is wonderful!" he cried happily, trying to still keep his voice down. "And they're both healthy? W-what do they look like?"

"A warrior, Cinderdawn, died. Badger attack. That's it." Needless to say, the warrior was unused to the art of conversation, not even speaking to his own Clan-mates very often. He hoped he wasn't making a fool of himself.

Frostpath shrugged. "Perhaps, I'm not sure." "Oh, those wretched leaders -" Frigidrose started, "- they can never make up their minds as to when to start the announcements. Sometimes it's as soon as we arrive! Sometimes it's so late, nobody can stand to listen because they just want to leave! Someone needs to bring some order to this chaos." Frostpath stared at her for a moment before quickly turning to Badgerfall. "I'm so sorry, she just lost her son, she's a bit irritable.... Would you like to continue our conversation somewhere else? I-I'm really, really sorry...."

The molly chuckled at Frigidrose's outburst "Maybe they are waiting for every clan to get here? They all seem to get here at different times anyways..." Badgerfall frowned when Frostpath explained "I am sorry for your loss." she meowed to the irritated molly, fake sympathy in her eyes. "We can go else where if that is what you want, I don't mind either way." That was the truth, she was use to the rude cats already, Briarclan was full of them and so was her last clan.

Coppereyes did not want to come but didn't voice his opinion this time. He knew Badgerfall was going and wanted to see if he could learn more about her. She didn't share much of her past with anyone in the clan and he couldn't help but be awestruck by the molly. He kept his distance of course as he sat down away from the cats and just listened in on the conversations around him.

Mudpaw kept quiet, he couldn't help but notice how shy Sandpaw was and thought it was kind of cute. Though he did not want to make it obvious that he was looking at her and darted his eyes around. His gaze eventually went back to the younger molly and then it hit him, the reason why she seemed so cute to him. She was just a lighter version of Bramblepaw back in Briarclan.

"It is my first too since I have been in Brairclan! Though I am one of the older apprentices.." Russetpaw meowed and added "It is not as fun as I thought to be honest. Of course he enjoyed coming, he got to meet all these new cats and make friendships and stuff.

This sounded much worse than a simple cough, although greencough certainly wasn't out of the realms of possibility. Hopefully, Echoclan would be alright. "You're doing fine," she assured. "Just remember to keep the announcements short and sweet." She followed Raggedtail's gaze and nodded to the other leader in greeting. "I'm Honeystar of Forestclan," she said. "By new do you mean just formed or a few moons old?" Either way, Briarstar looked remarkably confident.

Birchnose nodded. "Patching up the dens are really easy, and Grayfur--the elder--is good at telling us what to fix. Food also isn't a problem--I think we have too much, in fact!" she said with a small laugh.

Crowcloud grinned. The apprentice would make a good medicine cat, that was for sure. "What's your favorite part of training?" His was the ability to help those in need. While thankfully there hadn't been many incidents--a few scrapes here and there--he was always glad to help.

Barleystream grinned. "Probably about the same time as us," she muttered to Boulderpelt who nodded.

"Do you have a favorite part about training?" asked Dustpaw, hoping to keep Duskpaw talking. "I'm a medicine cat apprentice, so I don't know much."

"Eh, you could probably chase me up a tree if you ran fast enough," teased Adderstream. "She can be really scary," he said to Duskpaw, eyes wide and speaking in a mock whisper. Boulderpelt just sighed. Was Honeystar implying that she was also more mature than her siblings? It was starting to feel like it.

Dawnstorm nodded and smiled as the three introduced themselves. "Nah, I'm not exactly new. I've been in Forestclan for over ten moons. But it's only my second Gathering." He cocked his head. "But how's life in Echoclan?"

"May she watch over you from Starclan," Oakheart murmured, suddenly somber. "Forestclan has been doing well, though. One of the queens gave birth to a litter and another should give birth soon. We've also seen some foxes, but it hasn't been too bad. The air's a bit cold, though." His whiskers twitched. "I guess it's to be expected with leafbare coming soon, though." Patchthorn looked like he didn't like talking much, and Oakheart hoped that he wasn't rambling too much. Or maybe the other didn't mind. Maybe.

Morningstar leapt calmly onto the great rock, ears twitching slightly as he glanced at the other leaders. The majority of the leaders were familiar although he rarely spoke to them. Morningstar had always preferred to listen rather than speak. He got information without having to say anything at all about Caveclan.

Woolyfur is open

Woolyfur sat down with the other deputies.

Shadedleaf nodded, glancing over the clans. "I hope they send you someone soon." She replied. "I got lucky with Cloudpool. He joined the clan when we had just barely come together." She purred, remembering the days when it had been just her and Morningstar. One by one, the clan had grown into what it was today. "Whoever it is, Starclan'll make sure they're well suited to our job."

Rowanfur + Ebonywing are open

The pair sat down in the midst of the clans, close enough to keep an eye on Duskpaw. Ebonywing had expressed her worries about Duskpaw earlier and the pair had decided to keep an eye on him. He was such a nervous tom and without the other apprentices, Duskpaw felt ill at ease. Ebonywing had assured him he'd be fine, but he'd still seemed worried.

Chiveclaw + Hawkfeather are open

The toms sat side by side, waiting paitently for the gathering to start. Studying the cats around them, Hawkfeather wondered if he ought to talk to anyone. Perhaps if he was approached, he'd be glad to chat but for now, he was content to sit with Chiveclaw.

"F-favorite?" Duskpaw thought for a moment before saying, "Swimming! It's wonderful! Ebonywing said I took to water like a fish!" He said proudly. "Oh she's my mentor by the way. She's over there sitting with Morningstar's mate, Rowanfur." He nodded in the direction of the two mollies.

"Same here, though I am sure they will send me some one when they are ready or show me a sign for one anyways.." Archpool couldn't remember how many cats there were when he joined "I know when Starclan sent me here, there definitely was not as many as there are now. It was nice that way, and not to mention much easier to take care of!" he chuckled. "So your apprentice is already a full medicine cat huh? I bet that makes you very proud?"

Orchidstar nodded solemnly along to Emberstar's news, supressing a shiver at the thought that one day, a cat under her care might die. She forced a small smile, mewing sympathetically, "Oh, don't worry about it. I hope they are resting peacefully in Starclan now." Orchidstar actually didn't have all that much understanding about Starclan. She had been a kittypet before one of her ancestors had called her and told her about her destiny as a clan leader. Of course she believed, as they had already provided plenty for her and Gorseclan, but as a previously clueless outsider, it was still a tad confusing. Cutting short her thoughts, she answered Emberstar's question. "Oh, it's nice! A nice grassy field with plenty of rabbits. Our camp is a worn down barn. It's rather sheltered and warm in there, and it should keep us well in leafbare." She ended with a confident nod, before perking up and asking. "What about yours? I presume it has plenty of leaves.."

Batwing nodded, deciding to take the advice from the rather sleepy cat. "I'll keep that in mind, thanks!" He smiled again, before shivering as a cold wind rustled his fur. "Brr. I guess Leafbare is coming sooner than I expected.." A thought made him frown, and he murmured, "Leafbare's are tough. But I think it'll be easier with some clanmates by my side!" He was back to smiling in an instant, the young, carefree deputy leaping away from Bouldershade, with a parting chirp. "May Starclan be with you!"

Duskpaw grinned at Adderstream, pleased to share a love of water. He blinked at Boulderpelt, startled. "Too cold!?" The tom shook his head. "Maybe at first," He admitted. "But you get used to it." The tabby shook his head. "Not in the clan," He said, a bit wary now. He'd come from a kittypet family and learned that most warriors thought little of kittypets.

Boulderpelt laughed. "The river in our territory is freezing even with my thick pelt! But it's nice to splash around during greenleaf," she admitted. The four nodded and shared a look when Duskpaw admitted that his siblings weren't in the clan.

"Well, most of the warriors also have siblings who aren't in the clan," said Barleystream. "Only Dawnstorm and Daisywhisker are brothers. But half the clan's so close that we might as well be family!"

"It's practically Forestclan's motto," added Dustpaw. "But sometimes I wonder what it would be like to not have littermates..." Adderstream's whiskers twitched and Boulderpelt snickered. "Are there any other apprentices your age?"

Jinxstar led his clan into the gathering area, looking around to see who had been there before. He nodded encouragingly to his apprentice before he walked off towards the other leaders.

Ashleaf stalked towards the rest of the medicine cats, upset that he was without his mentor. He always felt better with her around because of the fact that she helped defend him against the mocking that he received for his deformities.

Blackmouth walked over to a shadowy corner and watched the rest of the cats around her. She worked hard to study the rest of the clans, trying to figure out their inner workings by what they said and how they acted.
