Zeph looked around, observing the decrepit, withered, and damp storage room the portal had opened up into.
Within seconds of exiting, his senses were bombarded with masses of passive magical energies, surging around the room.
He had to withdraw for a moment to collect himself- the magic zooming around the room was quite immense.
He lifted his hand, and twirled his finger, noting how distortions formed as it moved through the air when he barely even applied any form of stimulation.
He noticed Ferondir and Shia discussing something, both looking rather solemn given the circumstances.
Zeph waved his hand back down to his side, enjoying the stream of purple energy it left in it's wake.
-I know I'm not as strong as you, but I promise I'll do my best to keep you safe. He heard Shia say. Hm. What gave it away? Zeph thought in reply, unintentionally, of course.
Zeph began to rotate a sphere of light blue energy between his hands as he made his way to Ferondir and Shia, preparing to-
-Oof. Drimaethor exhaled, as Zeph accidentally walked into him, unaware of were he was walking.
Sorry, must still be dizzy from that fall. What a portal, right? Drimaethor said, attempting to make conversation.
However, Zeph thought about Drimaethor colliding with him and causing his Stele to fall through the portal.
Yeah. Zeph said nonchalantly as he eyed the dark haired archer who towered in front of him.
Be more careful next time while you're at it. Zeph said, about to walk past Drimaethor.
I like your flame sword. He added, before tapping the metallic sword, and abruptly walking past Drimaethor.
Hey. Why are we down here? Did Veneficus say anything? Zeph heard Ferondir say as he approached.
Uh... There's some magic skull or something, I think. Shia said, attempting to explain, and showing what it was she actually got from what Veneficus explained. Hm. Helpful.
I... I'm sorry if I said something wrong. Are you okay?
At that point, Zeph swooped in behind Ferondir, placing his arm on Ferondir's shoulder, allowing his cloak to swoosh as he entered.
To be more....specific.... We're down here because we have to get a skull, of apparently high magical value, before the Bordix get to it before us. Which, as this storeroom seems to suggest, no one has been here in quite a long time, so I'd take it we're the first.
Zeph removed his arm, and began to look around the room, scanning the walls quickly.
Do you feel that? He said, gesturing around the room.
He swiftly tapped the air with hand, as he did thin, multicolored strings weaved and networked through the immediate vicinity, tracing the energy patterns.
After a moment, the strings dissolved as Zeph turned back to Ferondir and Shia.
My guess? This mass of magic energy is concentrating around the object we came to procure. It must be pretty powerful if I can feel it all the way out here.
-=0 Drimaethor 0=-
Drimaethor was looking at the various objects, writings, and things that were around the room. They all seemed old, like no one had been in there in a very long time.
This is so cool, first that space portal that took us here, now artifacts?
Oof. Drimaethor let out, as he was accidentally bumped in to.
He was about ready to say something, but he noticed it was just Zeph, and it seemed like he didn't do it on purpose.
When Zeph looked up from the ball of blue magic he was holding, which turned into a blue mist when Zeph stopped concentrating, Drimaethor just sort of looked down at him and said.
Sorry, must still be dizzy from that fall. What a portal, right? He smiled, figuring that he didn't really talk to Zeph enough.
Yeah. He said, seeming distracted.
Be more careful next time while you're at it. Be "more" careful? What? It wasn't even my fault how could you- Drimaethor thought, as he was about to tell this kid, before he was interrupted.
I like your flame sword. Zeph said calmly, tapping the blade at his side before walking away.
He felt the sword hum at his side.
Thanks? He said, as he looked back at the artifacts scattered across the room.
