Journeyman Ferondir of Mira ~ Lanayaru City ~ Day 7, 8:36

Ferondir nodded. This whole thing was way out of his safety margin.
He stalked off.
For a master, Veneficus seemed very foolish. What was he doing, trapping them with these Prisoners of Twilight?
Ferondir sat down against the wall and rummaged through his book bag. He pulled out his book about the creatures of Hyrule. He'd have to learn more about these bordix. He flipped through the pages and started studying.

"T- they also mentioned a orb of knowledge... a... spell tomb, one they got at Gregal's mansion. And using dragon bones to make a fused... something. I couldn't hear the last part. They are in the room next to us." She pointed to the room. "I-I think they are following us. They were in arbor harbor, too."

Day 7 (Late Evening)/Veneficus/156/Where: Lanayaru City Inn/With: Everyone

Veneficus listened as Sapphire told them what the Bordix had said. He gasped when she said the word "Fused"
Great Stalfos of Lizalfos! They're trying to create The Fused Shadow!/color]
The rest of the group had no reaction to what Veneficus said, reminding him that they didn't know what he was talking about.
[color=#800080]The Fused Shadow is a concept thought of by one of the Bordix' greatest wizards long ago. It was meant to be a weapon capable of rivaling the Triforce itself. Since the Triforce is composed of the elements of Power, Wisdom, and Courage, the Fused Shadow concept was designed to be able to counter those elements with the opposite. It would be able to impose weakness, ignorance, and fear upon one who held the Triforce. Ordinarily, this wouldn't work, but with a Dragon Skull, the powers could be amplified enough to do serious damage.

Guzore joined in the conversation.
This is some pretty big stuff to handle, brother. How do you even know all this?
Veneficus paused for a moment, as if reflecting on something.
Many of the colleagues whom I used to trust turned out to not be trustworthy after all. The fact of the matter at hand is that the Bordix are currently gathering ingredients to create a Fused Shadow. The Orb of Knowledge, when used properly, can deliver prophecies to a trained psychic or magician. I believe that there's a fortune teller in Arbor Harbor who owns one.
Guzore snapped his fingers in excitement.
Oh yeah! We payed for a fortune telling back a few days ago and Zeph had a panic attack!
That panic attack Zeph had was a sign of the danger that knowledge of the future can carry. At it's full power in the wrong hands, it can be utilized to give an opponent amounts of knowledge too big for them to comprehend, causing them to panic and block out the truth.
Like politics?
Precisely.
The Tome of Madness is a compilation of mind-damaging other spells, that, when fully utilizes, causes the opponent to experience such copious amounts of fear that they are rendered unable to fight. It was hidden away in Gregal's Mansion for protection.

Guzore nodded his head, mostly pretending to understand the logistics behind what Veneficus said, for he could not completely attach meaning to many of the big words used. He probably wouldn't know what logistics meant either. He did, however, get the basic concept of countering the Triforce's powers with opposites.
So what do they need to do the opposite of power then?
Veneficus thought for a moment.
There are many things that cause weakness in this world. My guess would probably be Shadow Crystals, which can be found deep within the earth of cliffs and mountains. If all of these are combined with a Dragon Skull, the results would be catastrophic at minimum. Disaster could come barreling towards us at any moment.
Andromeda peeked her head out of the current barrel she was hiding in at Veneficus' mention of her native habitat. She squinted at the group, listening for any further commentary.

Della Collern/13/Colorblind/Where: Lanayru Inn/With: Everyone

Della stood, listening quietly as she always did. I mean, it was a serious conversation and she really had nothing to give. She wasn't observant like Sapphire; she was lucky if she could remember what she ate for dinner the previous night. She was also tired and tuning things out, closing her eyes slightly as she listened to Veneficus go on and on about something or other. Maybe Guzore could explain it to her later. A condensed version. Or maybe Ferondir could, though she doubted Ferondir could give a condensed version. She yawned, watching the others in the room. She heard the fortune teller mentioned and she grimaced. She wasn't a fan of that fortune teller. Her parents always told her to stay away from them, though it was sort of interesting to watch them. Della of course, rarely did what her parents told her.

Journeyman Ferondir of Mira ~ Lanayaru City ~ Day 7, 8:36

He flipped the pages, barely registering the words. His mind had traveled far away from this stressful situation.
It had traveled back in time. To happier, simpler days.

Ferondir of Mira ~ Mira Village (Outskirts) ~ Many years ago

Zephyrus, her and he, were playing in the fields.
Zephyrus poked her in the back of the head, and seeing the flaming look in her eyes, ran off ahead, cackling.
His white hair was longer back then. Back when he was free.
She sprinted after him, determined to take revenge.
Ferondir ran behind them, keeping up for only a few hundred meters before he couldn't run another step. They disappeared into the tall grass in front of him. He didn't mind. He'd always been a little slower then them. They'd come and find him soon enough. He could still hear Zeph's cackle and her shrieks. All was well.
He sat down, sucking in deep breaths, and grinning from ear too ear. He loved running at full throttle. especially through the fields, where the grass would bite at you if you weren't careful.
As his breathing evened out, he spotted a butterfly fluttering above the grass.
Such a tiny weak creature, but such beauty, such freedom.
It landed on a summer blossom and drank the sweet nectar. He stared at it silently, both envious of it's wings, and mystified by it's beauty.
Zeph's rough laugh grew louder, nearer, until he crashed through the grass, starling the butterfly into flight. Several others joined it. Zeph must have disturbed them too.
Ferondir watched it for a moment longer.
"Did you get distracted again?" Zephyrus asked, smirking. "Come on, you've got too see this."

Captain Jakub of the Wind Runner ~ Lanayaru City ~ Day 7, 8:40 PM

Jakub finished his drink and set it back on the counter. He stepped out of the bar, and looked up at the night sky.
In the distance, a sliver of the sky still burned with light, but it was time for the weaker stars to shine.
Jakub slid his old sword form its sheath. He'd lost hope that he'd find it again. He chuckled realizing that he'd stolen this from himself. So that's where it had gotten off too.
He held it up toward the sky. He had missed this blade.
"Welcome back, Audacia." he whispered, but the blade was silent. It hadn't yet woken.
Of course it hadn't it wasn't needed.
But the Captain had a feeling it soon would be.
He sheathed it, and took a deep breath. The air here was dry. It smelled of dust, but still fresher then the alcohol scented tavern.

Ferondir - present

He sat up. He seemed to have drifted off. He still felt a vague wonder from his dream, or was it a memory? He closed his book and looked up.
Della was standing there. Just watching. Perhaps considering, like him, that this was too much for them.
He stood up. "It'll be okay. I'm sure the Master knows what he's doing." He realized he was saying this more for his own benefit then hers. He blinked. He just wanted to run back to Mira and escape all of this.
"Those aren't the thoughts of a journeyman." A little voice seemed to say. "There won't be a Mira if you don't find that sword."
He shook his head. He made no attempt to hide what he was feeling. Fear, among other things.
The others could risk their lives. Maybe they could do it. Maybe he was a coward, but he wanted to be in his home town, with his loved ones, until the end. He took a step toward the stairs. "I can't." He started for the stairs again.

Zeph, who had been wandering complacently through the forest with the rest of the explorers(EOH), continued reading from the arcane spell books that were levitating around him.
He would occasionally tune into the others conversations, when they didn't bore him.
As his gaze drifted upwards towards the architectural beauty that was Lanayaru city, the books closed themselves and continued to drift around him.
Something felt familiar about Lanayaru, even just the look of it felt reminescent.
Zeph drew a golden-bound book from his bag, tossing it in the air and waving his hand, as he did it joined the rest of the floating books.
The golden book floated in front of him, opening itself to a page on Lanayaru cities history. As it opened, several books labeled "Magical portals and how to use them" and "Portal Theory" closed themselves.
He started listening as Veneficus was talking about what they were doing in Lanayaru, but he felt no need to comment presently.
...
Zeph closed all of his books, as they zoomed back into his bag, once they had entered Lanayaru City. From what Veneficus had told them, he needed to survey for a Bordix hidden somewhere. That shouldn't be too hard.
Oh, and there's Drimaethor talking to Veneficus.
Hey- Veneficus, Sir, if you don't mind my asking, what is on the other side of the portal?
Zeph practically face-palmed at such an obvious question.
The portal was created to send prisoners with powerful magic capabilities into another dimension, where they would be out of our world.- Veneficus had started explaining.
Portal's to send powerful prisoners to another dimension? He thought, waving his hand.
A book floated out of his bag, one of the Portal Theory books.
The pages flipped at a rapid speed, until he put his finger out to stop the flipping.
He found several pages with information, though most of it was cryptic and fragmented.
He approached Veneficus as he withdrew the watch that would count down their 10 hours.
It was certainly very elegant.
It looked appealing.
Elegantly appealing.

Drimaethor
-=0=-
Drimaethor listened intently as Veneficus explained what exactly he was having them do.
He thought about what he was saying, and even though it sounded dangerous, he had faith that the team could do it.
Besides, he's seen them do way cooler and more dangerous stuff before.
How hard could another world be?
A dimension-
Ooooh. A really nice looking watch.

Shiallia - Lanayaru City - Everyone

Shia almost laughed at their chances. Almost. Ten hours to take a sword from prisoners so dangerous they had to be sent to a different dimension? Oh, and the sword's got crazy magic powers. And the guy holding it was trained by the best wizard in Hyrule. Sounds like it'll go great! Yeah... We're all going to die.
Please be patient with me, I'm super lazy and super forgetful. If it's my turn in a roleplay, feel free to pm me, I probably forgot. Heck you know what you can pm me anytime tbh I love getting pms.

Night 7/Veneficus/156/Where: Lanayaru City Inn/With: Everyone

Veneficus stood up.
I believe I know where the Dragon Skull is located. We must hurry to get there before the Bordix do though.
Guzore bounced out of his seat excitedly.
Ooh boy! An adventure! How exciting!
Veneficus looked at Guzore, slightly confused.
You do know we've been on an adventure this whole time, right?
Guzore laughed.
Of course! But this is gonna be the first time we get to deal with some Bordix.
Guzore pounded his fists together triumphantly.
Plus, it feels like it's been a month since we were last outside. I gotta stretch my legs, brother! Hohohoho!
Veneficus shrugged, unable to understand Guzore's eagerness to get back outside again. He figured everyone would be tired from walking for most of the day, although they had recently slept in the forest... while dreaming about killing each other. Veneficus ran his fingers along the metal protective metal cover over his neck. Ravoo wouldn't be able to slice through it with his antlers in reality, so the others' perception of his neckplate's durability must have affected the dream. That would also explain why Sapphire had a heart attack so easily.
Alrighty then, let's go!
Veneficus led the others outside the hotel with a blue lantern in his hand, bringing them down a strange alleyway suspended above the sand with the rest of the village. He pulled out a compass-like item and led them to the edge of a bridge. Veneficus eyed a certain square of sand that would have gone unnoticed if it weren't for his attention to it. It seemed more even and thick than the rest of the sand around it, though it was hard to notice. Veneficus kicked a small pebble off of the bridge and it hit the strange square of sand with a thud.
Hiding an old storage entrance with textured sandstone, eh? Not bad.
Veneficus pulled out a metallic device that resembled a yo-yo, looked both ways to make sure no Lanayaru residents were watching, and threw it down at the square sandstone section of sand. It vibrated intensely and then opened up, causing a blue beam to shoot upwards and then jerk back downwards at the metal device. There was a flash of blue light and a blue portal opened up above the sand.
This is a new prototype I've been working on that creates a portal from the side of a surface you throw it on to the other side. Basically like blasting a hole in the wall, but without actually destroying any wall. Really useful if you accidentally lock yourself our of your room.
Veneficus gestured for the others to follow and jumped into the blue portal.

Journeyman Ferondir of Mira ~ Lanayaru City ~ Day 7, 8:43 PM

Ferondir was already outside when he realized that he had responsibilities here.
Shia.
She was his apprentice.
He couldn't leave without her.
Nayru's code forbade him to let her parish.
He stopped and turned back. Slipping back inside quietly.
It seemed no one had even noticed his departure. That was slightly depressing.
He located Shia and got her attention. He didn't know what his plan had been. So he just stood silently for a moment. What had he meant to say? That she should abandon the others too? Somehow, he didn't think that was solid advise.
"Alrighty then, let's go!" Veneficus said.
Shia raised her eyebrows at him and turned to follow the Master.
Ferondir stood there until the others went out of sight. What should he do?
He knelt. "Nayru. I find myself lost. Please. Show me the way."
No answer. But that's not how Nayru works.
He opened his eyes. He was to go to Goron mountain with the others.
He ran down the stairs, and crashed through the doors. Veneficus had just dropped through a portal in the ground. What?
He approached quietly, following the others into the hole.
A dusty dark sandstone hallway stretched out of sight.
Jakub jumped in just behind him.
Ferondir lit the end of his staff with a whispered word.
He held up the light, but the tunnel stretched even past the border of his makeshift torch.
Wordlessly, driven by curiosity and fear, Ferondir started forward, lighting the path for the others.
What was a secret tunnel doing in Lanayaru, right outside the Inn?
