"Greetings Jinxstar, how is Jinxclan?" The brown tom blinked.

"Very well, thank you. We are growing quickly and we are still many strong." He said simply as he waited for the other leaders to start announcements.

Willowbolt followed her mate as he led the way to were the leaders and deputies normally gathered. As she took her seat with the rest of the deputies, she looked around anxiously for Rowanpelt.

"Hello Ashleaf!" The friendly medicine cat purred. "How are you?"

"Still alive, unfortunately." Ashleaf said in his usual mopey voice, "How are you?"

"I'm having kits." Wildpoppy mewed, her stump tail wiggling in excitement.

"Are you serious? That is wonderful!" Tux gasped as he circled around her with excitement.

Yinpelt took a seat near the rest of the deputies, looking around for Rowanpelt. He wanted to be the first to tell him the wonderful news about Velvetrabbit's kits. He wanted so desperately to tell him all the wonderful names he gave the kits as well.

Appleblaze dipped his head to the two warriors. "Sweetdawn, this is Leopardpaw and Barkclaw. They're from Jinxclan." Sweetdawn nodded slowly.

"Leopardclaw, I have not been an apprentice for many moons now." Leopardclaw said jokingly as he gave a playful glare at Appleblaze.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Sweetdawn." Barkclaw said with a friendly smile.

Harmonypaw and Snowpaw were standing in the shadows and looking out on all the gathered cats. All the mingled clan scents were starting to hurt their noses, and the sight of so many cats made them feel very uncomfortable.

Crowcloud and Dustpaw were the first to arrive at the medicine cats' Gathering. This was Dustpaw's first time going to this Gathering, and so he had been whispering instructions into her ear. Once they got to the Moonpool, though, he was very surprised to find it empty of cats.

"Where's everyone?" asked Dustpaw, vocalizing Crowcloud's thoughts.

"I don't know," he replied. "Let's sit for now."

((I'm gonna come because I forgot I don't have work today ))

Brindlecloud slowly joined the few other medicine cats that were outside of the Moonpool, waiting to go in. Crowpaw followed close behind, a nervous look in his yellow eyes. "Are you sure you should've come?" He asked, looking up at his mentor. His gaze briefly dropped to her stomach.

So far, nobody in Echoclan had been able to tell that the medicine cat's belly had swollen with kits. Crowpaw, Sunnyflower and Witheredstalk were the only ones in the Clan that knew because Brindlecloud trusted her secret with them. "Yes, Crowpaw. I'll be fine."
She mewed, licking the top of his head.

Crowcloud nodded to the other medicine cats as they arrived. His gaze dropped to one of the mollies, whose belly seemed abnormally large. However, he didn't comment. It wasn't his business, after all. Perhaps her clan had different rules. "Hello," he said calmly, padding up to the mollies. "I don't believe we've met? I'm Crowcloud of Forestclan. That," he said with a flick of his tail, "is my apprentice, Dustpaw."

When Dustpaw saw four other medicine cats arrive, the first thing she noticed was that two seemed to be around her age. "Hi!" she said, bounding up to the tom and nodding for the molly to come over. "I'm Dustpaw of Forestclan. What're your names?"

It felt weird to be attending a medicine cat gathering by himself. Willowcloud had stayed behind to keep an eye on Breezeclaw. Appleheart should have felt nervous, but he was too numb from the day's terrible events to feel much of anything. He padded up to the moonpool with something of a blank, perhaps lost expression. He stared at the ground for a few moments before lifting his gaze a bit. A slight smile appeared on his face at the sight of Brindlecloud, and he padded toward his mate. Before he could reach her, another cat beganto speak to her and another. Appleheart stopped in his tracks, staring for just a moment before sitting down and looking away. What was wrong with this day? First he couldn't save a warrior's life, then he couldn't even speak to his mate because he was too late to the gathering. For a moment he thought he should just return to camp, but decided it was best to stay.

Brindlecloud dipped her head to Crowcloud. "Greetings." She mewed, settling back on her haunches. "I'm Brindlecloud of Echoclan. And this is Crowpaw." She mewed, running her tail over the black tom's flank. "He joined us last moon, so he's still learning." She nudged Crowpaw to his paws. "Go talk with the other apprentices, you can learn from them." She mewed. Crowpaw cast her an unsure look before hurrying over to the others.

The calico she-cat perked up slightly when she noticed Appleheart. "Appleheart." She called, gesturing for him to come join her and Crowcloud.

"I'm Crowpaw of Echoclan." Crowpaw mewed to Dustpaw and Goldenpaw. "How long have you two been apprentices?" He asked.
"I have only been in Echoclan for a moon."

Lily lead Echopaw to the Moonpool. "The medicine cats meet here every half moon." She explained. "Now go speak with the other apprentices, I'll be with the full med cats."

"Forestclan has been doing well," said Crowcloud. "Fleckstorm, our newest queen, is likely to give birth soon." While he had been worried about leaving the queen to her own devices, he had been assured by Snowfoot that if anything, she and Duckpelt could help as they had gone through the same experience and that queens had been kitting since the beginning of time. "What about your clans?"

"I've been an apprentice for...three moons," Dustpaw said after a few seconds of thinking. "I started out as a warrior apprentice but switched after learning the basics. That's how it's going to be from now on, so that we can actually hunt and fight. You say that you've stayed with your clan for a moon? Where did you come from?" She only knew of adults that had come into the clan, with Applenose being the only exception. And even he had been almost a warrior when she had been born.
