"Really?" murmured Honeystar to Spiderstar. "Did she say by whom? I didn't want to tell everyone, but Alderclaw said that Squirrelstar had attacked them. Do you know which clan they hail from?"

"Congratulations to Cinderdawn and Breezeclaw," she murmured to Ashenclaw. It only seemed proper, as every cat that made it to warriorhood--or adulthood, beyond the clans--was to be celebrated in her opinion.

Briarwhisker and Dawnstorm| tags: Birchwing, Owldust
Dawnstorm fidgeted in place, seemingly unable to hold still. He glanced around, but Birchwing and Owldust seemed engrossed in the speeches and Briarwhisker was deliberately looking away from him. He sighed; when would this be over? Maybe something more interesting than Beechclan's deputy change would come up. Maybe.

Briarwhisker wondered if she should tell them that she had been born a kittypet, but when Owldust moved on, decided not to. She noted the sadness in the other molly's voice, and wondered what had happened to her brother. She cocked her head to listen to Birchwing's answer, and saw that Dawnstorm also leaned in to pay attention.

Applepaw took a deep breath. Hopefully Sandpaw would be alright. He gave a nod and smile to the other apprentice. "So...this is my mentor, Acornstream," he said quietly to the other apprentices.

"Hello," said Acornstream. "What are your names and what clans do you come from?" All of this was said quietly in order to avoid disturbing the cats around them.

Emberstar sat in silence, listening to each announcement carefully. It might turn out to be useful to know what's going on in the other Clans, who knows?

"Oh, thank you," Ashenclaw meowed. "They both trained very hard. Are there any apprentices in ForestClan?"

[ ashenclaw; deputies, birchnose of forestclan ]

"That's wonderful!" Willowcloud purred. "We have a young warrior expecting kits actually. She won't stop fretting about it since the kitting will be in leaf-bare, but I know she'll be fine. She's strong."

[ willowcloud; medicine cats, brackenheart of sedgeclan ]

Appleheart tilted his head to the side a bit with surprise. "He did? Why? What happened? Do you need any help?" he fired question after question. Was she doing okay with her mentor being gone?

"Uh..." Birchwing uttered as he tried to recall his past Gatherings. "I think I've been to two other Gatherings. The first time I was an apprentice and didn't meet anyone - my two crazy siblings probably scared them all off. The second time I met someone. So just one cat, I guess."

Heatherpaw smiled, watching the tom leave. "Well he was nice, don't you think?" Breezeclaw only grumbled, "That conversation was a bunch of nothingness, just floof and stuff. Nothing of importance. Boring." Her friend let out a loud sigh. "Oh come on, Breezeclaw. Have some fun! Let's go find someone else to talk to!" She then proceeded to skip off into the crowd, and the warrior reluctantly followed at a slower pace.

Dewpaw held both his head and tail low as he slowly followed his sister and her friend - at a reasonable distance - into the clearing. It was his first Gathering, but he wasn't going to be able to enjoy it, not with Russetpaw here. Unsure of what to do with himself, he slunk off to the edge of the clearing, away from the crowd.

"His stomach is bothering him, I think. He looks nauseous," Ivypaw mewed before turning and leading Carppaw back to the place where the apprentices gathered near Sandpaw and Greypool.
To Acornstream Russetpaw mewed, "Hi, I'm Russetpaw, I'm from LeafClan. Oh, and here comes my friend Ivypaw."

"I see." Morningstar nodded. "Let's start announcements now." Stepping forward to address all the clans, he began, "Caveclan's been blessed by Starclan this past moon. A new queen, Larkfeather has joined us and Lilystem has moved into the nursery, expecting Chiveclaw's kits. Our apprentices have been doing wonderfully in their training and I expect several of them will be earning their warrior name shortly. We'd like to extend an offer of alliances to Sedgeclan. That is all." He moved back to let the next leader speak.

The two she-cats sat together at the edge of the clearing to keep an eye on the apprentices. Mistpaw was almost a warrior so they weren't all that worried about her. Her mentor Chiveclaw had told them Mistpaw was ready to go to the gathering without him so Rowanfur and Dappleleaf focused their attention on the younger two.

"I'm Mistpaw and this is Tigerpaw. We're from Caveclan." Mistpaw said, a bit subdued and worried about Sandpaw. Hopefully Greypool would be able to help him. "Nice to meet you." Tigerpaw murmured. "My mentor, Rowanfur is over there with Poppypaw's mentor. Mistpaw's mentor is back at camp though."

"I don't like land hunting all that much either. The molly agreed. "Fishing is much more fun." She smiled, excitement flashing in her eyes. "Dappleleaf's a great mentor. She promised to teach me how to swim later." Poppypaw purred.

Birchnose nodded. "One," she said. "His name is Applepaw, and he's apprenticed to Acornstream. He's a good apprentice, always eager to help out. And Acornstream reports that he puts a lot of effort into his training."

Briarwhisker snorted at the mention of crazy siblings. "If they were anything like Dawnstorm, here, I can believe you!"

"Hey!" complained Dawnstorm. "I'm not crazy; am I?" He looked at Birchwing and Owldust with wide eyes, silently pleading for them to agree with him.

"Ah, the border clan," said Acornstream, nodding. "It's a pleasure to meet you both!"

"What're your mentors like? Acornstream is awesome, of course," said Applepaw with a slight smile and catching Acornstream's head shaking slightly. He hoped that he could lift the mood because while he too was worried about Sandpaw, he thought that it wouldn't do them good to worry too much. Besides, he was in good paws.

1. Yeah, I've reposted his textwall enough. He's open.

2. Thorntoes grunted lightly to show she'd heard the tom, her yellow gaze flicking over him, as if she was sizing him up. After a moment, the grey and white shecat decided to play along, and let out a purr of greeting (although her expression didn't match). "Thorntoes, deputy of Yewclan. It's a pleasure to meet you."


3. Wow... I guess mates are really important to the clans? Hm. I guess they were important back at my birth-place, too. "Oh. That's unfortunate- you seem like a really nice cat to me. I'm sure you'll find someone someday, you just have to keep looking!" Another smile. Foxpelt was trying to be friendly, but he wasn't sure how he was doing. Friendliness wasn't exactly a trait he had ever needed. Mainly he just made sure none of the aggressive toms went near Figfur, and every once in a while checked to make sure the Twolegs weren't dying without him watching their every move. He wasn't exactly socially awkward... just socially... yeah, ok. Socially awkward works. Foxpelt tapped his tailtip once, thinking about how to tackle the topic. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to talk about it, but oh well. No one ever told him not too! "This is going to sound really weird and probably won't make any sense, and might make you think I'm insane, so stop me if you're lost. So, you know how when a cat dies, we can't talk to them anymore? Well, apparently Yewclan's territory is really close to starclan or something? So dead cats can still visit us and talk to us and doing everything a living cat could except touch us." Foxpelt paused, allowing Otterstream to take that in before continuing. "Well, Figfur's mate, Flurry... Ah, when we were trying to get to Yewclan to join, we got raided by some twolegs. Flurry was taken and... we assume killed. Because his spirit appears in our camp and talks to us and everything." Another pause. Is she still listening? I must sound like a psychopath... "But uh, so yeah, Flurry is dead but still here? And anyway, the starclan cats can get glimpses into the future or something? It's weird, but they tell us who to be mates with. Since they aren't always accurate, it's called a 'trial mate,' and two cats are trial mates for three moons, and then decide whether to become real mates or not. And, uh. The ancients paired Yewstar and Figfur, even though Flurry is kinda still... here." The tom stared at his paws for a moment before glancing back up at Otterstream. "Did that make any sense at all?"

"Rowanfur's really strict but she's a great mentor." Tigerpaw replied. "She's Morningstar's mate so she probably tells him all about my training." Tigerpaw glanced at Mistpaw as she began talking. "Chiveclaw's a good mentor too. He's really good at fighting and he's taught me so much." Mistpaw smiled, fond of the tom. "His mate is expecting kits so he's been a bit preoccupied. It's okay though. He says I'm ready to become a warrior soon."

"That's great!" exclaimed Applepaw. "I can't wait to become a warrior."

Acornstream chuckled. "Only once you've completed your training!" He looked at Mistpaw. "Is Chiveclaw currently training you or is someone else taking over temporarily?" He was asking for himself, because though being Applepaw's mentor was wonderful, he was also a father and wanted to have some extra time with his kits, especially once they grew older.

"She has." Tigerpaw pointed out. "Morningstar is waiting for Willowpaw and Tigerpaw to become 12 moons so all three of us can become apprentices together." Mistpaw explained. "If he needed to train me, he'd be able to. Lilystem won't give birth for a couple moons still. She just barely found out about them."
"Oh we're leaving!" Tigerpaw looked over to where Rowanfur and Dappleleaf were waiting. "Bye! Hopefully we'll see you at the next gathering! We'll be warriors!" Mistpaw stood up and glanced at the Forestclan cats. "Bye! It was nice meeting you guys!" The two padded off to join their mentors, young Poppypaw joining them a moment later.

"I have to go now. I'll see you at the next gathering though." With a friendly wave of her tail, the molly bounded off to join her fellow apprentices, Tigerpaw and Mistpaw as the entire clan grouped together to leave.

The white fluffy tom watched as the last of the leaders gave their reports on their clan. After they all seemed to be done he went ahead and made his way off the leader's ledge. He landed silently and saw that Bouldershade was in earshot "Lets go Bouldershade, get Owldust." he commanded in his usual bossy tone before turning away and waiting at the edge of the clearing.

After the trio was collected at the edge of the clearing they went ahead and started for home. Cloudstar seemed to be in a rush to get back as his pace was fast. He knew there was much to do and leaf-bare was just around the corner, a gust of wind ruffled through his fur causing him to shiver slightly.

Bouldershade couldn't help but smirk at the molly's words, it was as if she forced the word pleasure. When he opened his mouth to say something to her Cloudstar had come down from the leader's ledge. The leader of course meowed his bossy command and Bouldershade nodded "Alright." He turned to Maplewhisker and Thorntose "Looks as if it is over? Maybe we will see each other again next time?" he meowed with no emotion before padding off to where he saw Owldust.

"You seem rather nice to me Dawnstorm!" Owldust purred before looking at Birchwing again "Maybe we will get lucky and see each other again? That way we have familiar faces to talk to!" Owldust chuckled. Just then she saw that Bouldershade was headed over and she lowered her ears, great looks like it is time to go back now.. The travel home will be long as those two toms don't like to talk. "Looks like I better get going, Cloudstar is not the most patient." and with that Owldust took her leave.

Honeystar knew that it was time to go home and maybe make a quick stop at the Moonpool. She said goodbye to the other leaders and jumped down from the Speaker's Rock, waving with her tail for her clan to follow.

Birchnose saw Honeystar calling to her clan silently, and stood. "It was nice to meet you," she said. "I hope we can see each other sometime soon!" She followed her leader home.

Briarwhisker and Dawnstorm| tags: Birchwing, Owldust
Dawnstorm looked at Briarwhisker triumphantly. "See?" he said. "Bye!" he said to Owldust. "It was nice meeting you, too!" Soon after, Briarwhisker nudged him, pointing towards Honeystar and Birchnose, who were waiting for everyone else.

"It was good to meet you, Birchwing," said Briarwhisker.

"I hope we can see each other another time!"

The two Forestclan cats padded over to where their leader and deputy stood.

"It's time to go," murmured Acornstream, spying the rest of his clanmates gathering. "Say goodbye."

Applepaw huffed. "Alright," he grumbled. "Bye!" he said in a more cheerful voice to the other apprentices. "It was great to see you again, Tigerpaw, and it was fun meeting the rest of you!" He then stood up and followed his clanmates home.

To fit with Kat's timeline, Honeystar goes to the Moonpool hoping for some answers about Alderclaw but gets a warrior in return.
