Turning, the orange tabby studied the molly with faint surprise. Sedgeclan? Oddly similar to the name of one of his warriors, Sedgetail. "I'm Morningstar of Caveclan." He introduced himself. "Sedgeclan? One of my warriors is named Sedgetail."

The two she-cats sat together at the edge of the clearing to keep an eye on the apprentices. Mistpaw was almost a warrior so they weren't all that worried about her. Her mentor Chiveclaw had told them Mistpaw was ready to go to the gathering without him so Rowanfur and Dappleleaf focused their attention on the younger two.

Applepaw's familiar voice drew their attention and Tigerpaw led Mistpaw over to the small group. "Hi!" Tigerpaw seemed much more cheerful tonight than the last gathering. Perhaps this had something to do with a certain molly. Had Duskpaw and Poppypaw been with them, Tigerpaw might've been teased endlessly about this but at present Poppypaw had gone her own way and Duskpaw was back at camp. "Hi," Mistpaw said, introducing herself a moment later, "I'm Mistpaw. You must be Applepaw right? Tigerpaw and Duskpaw told us about you."

Meanwhile, Poppypaw wasn't paying all that much attention, her mind wandering to that cute apprentice who'd bumped into her. Was he going to be here? She hoped so.

Emberstar gave a dip of her head in greeting to the ForestClan leader and replied, "I haven't heard much of StreamClan. They aren't here yet, are they?" In truth, she had never heard of this StreamClan at all, but would never let such ignorance be known.

Always eager to engage in conversation, the deputy's face lit up when someone spoke to him. "Hello there! he meowed with a smile. "I'm Ashenclaw, deputy of LeafClan. It's nice to meet you."

Birchwing's ears swiveled around to focus on the sound that had caught his attention and his head turned a second after. He was greeted by two cats - one who looked very cheerful and the other a bit grumpy. "Hello," he meowed calmly. "I am Birchwing, a LeafClan warrior."

Heatherpaw immediately noticed the tom approaching and put on her best smile. She was the leader's daughter after all, she had to make a good impression. "Hello!" she mewed cheerfully, but not ecstatically, an air of confidence about her. "I'm Heatherpaw of LeafClan, and this is Breezeclaw." The young warrior gave a mere nod as greeting, averting her eyes.

Dewpaw held both his head and tail low as he slowly followed his sister and her friend - at a reasonable distance - into the clearing. It was his first Gathering, but he wasn't going to be able to enjoy it, not with Russetpaw here. Unsure of what to do with himself, he slunk off to the edge of the clearing, away from the crowd.

Russetpaw gasped with delight when a young cat spoke to them. She didn't think they would get to make friends this quickly! "Hi!" she chirped a bit too enthusiastically. "I'm great, thanks! This is our first Gathering." Ivypaw, a bit more reserved than her companion, gave a smile and mewed, "I'm Ivypaw and this is Russetpaw. Who are you?"

once the clan arrived everybody started to mingle. willowstar went up to chat with the leaders, maplewhisker went with the deputies, brackenheart met up with the medicine cats and the two warriors started to look for some other cats to talk to.

Cloudstar lead the way to the gathering, he had never been here before but his dreams made it clear that he was to come. Of course he did go as he did not want to upset Starclan, the newly formed clan couldn't handle much. That is why he had every cat come, he didn't want to let them get caught by a predator all alone. Just then a bunch of muddle cat scents came to him and he knew they were close to the gathering, he turned to his clan mates, waiting for Owldust to stop chatting. When she did he instructed them to not give any information about Briarclan but to gather as much as they could about the other clans as they possibly could.

After his clanmates understood what he wanted Cloudstar lead the way into the clearing. The fluffy white tom looked around, there was so many cats already and he could not help but fear for the safety of his new clan. He took a deep breath in to push the fear aside before padding on, just then he noticed a three legged cat jump up onto a large rock. It seemed to overlook the whole gathering and he assumed that was where the leaders stand. So Cloudstar made his way up the rock with a few leaps, careful so he did not run into any cat. Once he was on top of the rock he saw the small group of others and meowed a bold "Hello."

Bouldershade only nodded to Cloudstar after his instructions, he was not one to make conversation but he would try his best. He couldn't help but look at Owldust, she had talked the whole way here; it almost gave him a head ache too! The deputy knew she would have no trouble talking with others. Just then Cloudstar had lead the way to the clearing, only Owldust bolted in "She must already have a victim to talk to, that poor cat's ears." he joked to himself. Though it caused a few heads to turn towards him, curiousity in their eyes.

With a flick of his tail he continued on, ignoring those earlier looks. Bouldershade was pretty observant and saw that just below the rock the leaders must be gathering on was a smaller ledge. He saw an odd silver colored tom sitting there and decided that would be who he would talk to. As he made his way over he raised his tail, a friendly gesture, before meowing "Hello, I am Bouldershade of Briarclan. Might I ask who you are?"

Owldust had just become a warrior of Briarclan, she had passed that odd test Cloudstar had given her and was already eager to prove herself further. When she heard that he want information on other clans she promised to bring back as much as she could, after all talking was one of her most favorite things to do!

As soon as Cloudstar lead the way into the clearing Owldust bolted ahead, the confident molly pushed herself into a small group of cats that where close by, she had just managed to hear one of the cats introduce himself as Birchwing. Her bubbly personality was bound to show when she chirped her own uninvited introduction "I am Owldust, a warrior of Briarclan!" she flashed a smile at all of them before looking at the other two cats "I got his name, who are you?" she meowed as she gestured to Birchwing.

Honeystar shook her head. "I don't think so. I haven't heard much either but recent events... Anyways. Well, how're your clans, then?" she asked the whole group.

"It's nice to meet you, too," said Birchnose. "How's the prey been running? Anything interesting?"

Acornstream nodded in greeting to both. "How's life in your clan? I don't think I've heard of Leafclan. Are you new or have I just missed out?"

Dawnstorm nodded, smiling. "So, I've never met a cat from another clan before. What's it like? Have you been to Gatherings before?" Briarwhisker peeked her ears up, also eager to hear the answer.

When Owldust arrived, it was Briarwhisker who answered first. "Hello!" she said. "I'm Briarwhisker and this is Dawnstorm. We're both of Forestclan." Privately, she thought that Dawnstorm would get along very well with this molly.

Applepaw noticed Tigerpaw's cheerfulness, which was interesting. Maybe he had just been in a bad mood last time. "Yeah, I'm Applepaw of Forestclan. And you are?" He turned to Russetpaw. "Cool! This is my...second. They're really fun."

The small band of cats pause at the top of the ridge, the only apprentice looking on in awe.
"Wow, that's a lot of cats," Blackpaw breathes.
Flarestone grins and bumps him. "Scared?" she teases.
"No!" he says defensively.
Talonstar gestures for them to be quiet for a moment before leading the way, plunging down the slope.
QuartzClan has arrived. All cats open.

"LeafClan is doing well, thank you. We recently had five kits become apprentices, so the warriors certainly have their paws full mentoring them all," she chuckled. "How are your Clans faring?"

"Everything's pretty much normal, I guess. Prey's been good, but it should be declining a bit with leaf-bare just around the corner," he mewed. "How are things in ForestClan?"

Willowcloud greeted every medicine cat who arrived with a simple 'hello,' hoping to make everyone feel welcomed. Her pale green gaze rested on a she-cat who seemed a bit shy, and she padded up to her, motioning with her tail for Appleheart to follow. "Hello," she purred softly to the newcomer. "My name is Willowcloud, and this is Appleheart. We're LeafClan's medicine cats. Who might you be?"

"Yes, I've actually been to a couple Gatherings before," Birchwing meowed. "It's always interesting to meet cats of other Clans." As the she-cat who introduced herself as Owldust came running up to the group, Birchwing gave a small nod of greeting.

"We're doing great, thank you!" Heatherpaw mewed. At his second question, she let out a soft chuckle, "No, we're not new. We have around thirty members. How many are in your Clan?"

Morningstar gave a soft chuckle of amusement, twitching his whiskers. "She never did tell me about the clan named after her though." He joked. He looked over the clans, finding his clanmates surprisingly easily in the crowd. A flicker of pride warmed his chest, seeing the young apprentices chatting. This was good. They'd learn lots about the other clans.
"How long ago did Sedgeclan form?" He asked curiously.

I'm not sure where Poppypaw went. Nice to meet you guys!" Oh it was definitely safe to say that being around Mistpaw seemed to soften up the tom. "Oh! We're good. How are you guys?"

Sorrelstar was a bit too tired tonight to care much about the appearances, or rather the lack of them, that she usually took so much pride in. Tonight would have been one of making allies, or what was it that she had called them when everything was all well and good? Friends? The she-cat couldn't help but snort at her younger self's forced foolishness. So over the top. But with the death of her former deputy weighing of her mind, she didn't feel much like making merry or even putting up a semblance of such. Not to mention the pending problem of Barkknot. The Beechclan leader was going to have to watch how she acted around Jaystar if she wanted her daughter to live. Jaystar never did like my trickery. Probably felt threatened, huh. The she-cat allowed herself to contemplate this conundrum as she lept atop the leader's rock, her stance rather clearly aloof.

"Now the two of you behave yourselves. It's your first gathering so make your father, mother, and I proud okay?" "Sure dad- we won't cause any ruckus! None at all!" Dunpond raised an amused eyebrow at his youngest daughter's promise. The ever-present mischievous twinkle in her eyes had not been dimmed at all be the solemnity of the night. Which was good, let the pair of them have their fun. "I'll watch her," Sandkit told his father seriously, as was his way. "Well maybe cause a bit of ruckus- you're only 'paws for so long. Go have fun." And with the playful flick of their father's tail dismissing them, the pair disappeared into the crowd, and Dunpond went to take his place beneath the leader's perch.

{Dunpond- Beneath Leader's Perch, Open}

"Come on Sandpaw! I'm telling you, these cats look fun so let's go!" Carppaw had rather quickly scoped out a nice group of apprentices in the midst of the tangle of gathered cats and was attempting to convince her brother to follow her. Sandpaw gave a half-hearted "Whatever you say," and a small shrug and trailed after his sister. She had stopped just a few mouselenghts away from the apprentices, suddenly not so keen on approaching them anymore. "Why are you just standing here?" "They're in the middle of a conversation Sandpaw. We can't interrupt, obviously." Really the she-cat had just been hit by a wave of shyness, but Sandpaw didn't understand his sister's constant changes of disposition and regarded her with a confused expression. "You're the one who wanted to make friends. Come on." And with that he plopped himself right in the middle of the conversation. "I'm Sandpaw," the tom told the enthusiastic she-cat who smelled of Leafclan, ignoring the fact that she was conversing with another, "My sister's Carppaw. Who're you." "Sandpaw!" Carppaw cried aloud, obviously mortified at having a brother so unable to grasp social nuances.

Pigeonpaw had decided to stick by Malloweyes for her first gathering since Asptail wouldn't take her. The elder harbored mixed feelings on this, on one paw she had ample time to drive a deeper wedge between the apprentice and her mentor, but on the other she was no longer free to do any converting. Cackling and plotting murders would certainly disillusion her little puppet. "It really is too bad Asptail couldn't find the time to spare on you. A first gathering really is a monument. Oh well, we'll have our own fun won't we?" Pigeonpaw nodded enthusiastically up at her idol, who's returning grin was especially patronizing. Besides Malloweyes, Sharkfang was restless. He kept sheathing and unsheathing his claws with great impatience. "Looking for her hmm?" "Of course." "Well tell her the good news once you find her, I have a little one to mind." Malloweyes dismissed her ally with a flick of her well-groomed tail and Sharkfang shot off readily.

"So, is this mysterious she-cat here tonight? What's she like?" Frostsong gave his best friend a teasing prod between the ribs causing Momomoon to giggle and whack him with sheathed paws. "Shut up Frostsong!" "I thought you were going to introduce me! I won the bet after all!" The she-cat just sighed at her white-furred friend. He had indeed won the bet, but how was she supposed to have guessed he could ride a log down the rapids? It sounded impossible! "You're going to need to teach me how to do that," she told him, then went back to scanning the crowd for Honeyfur.
