Day 6 (Night)/Veneficus/150+/Where: Veneficus' Private Study/With:Everyone

Veneficus paused in thought for a moment.
Exactly one hundred years! Good guess, young lady. You'll be visiting Castle Town exactly 50 years after Skyloft descended from the heavens and Hyrule was established. A night of sleep is understandable though. I haven't had a regular sleep schedule for a long time, so I had forgotten that other people normally sleep at night.
Veneficus shuffled through some papers and books behind his desk and opened a panel in his wall that led to several levers.
Hmm... I believe this one should do the trick...
He pulled one of the levers up halfway, causing a loud whirring sound to start humming through the circular room. A strange device was lowered from the ceiling. The center of it looked like a furnace, and it had several rods bent at 90 degree angles attached to it, all facing each other. Veneficus rushed over to a glowing set of yellow runes, symbols, and shapes floating in between two cone-shaped magnets on the edge of the room; attached to several flasks and gears. He wrote several new runes and moved the shapes around until they appeared to form a boxlike shape. He then rushed over to the levers on the other side of the room again and pulled the lever the rest of the way up. The substances in the flasks were sucked into tubes attached to the magnet device, and the other device's mechanical arms immediately shot magical energy out of them, forming the same boxlike shape in between them. Before long, it appeared to be a glowing bed, which then fell down from the machine onto the floor in front of the group. The machine subsequently created 11 more glowing beds, which fell on top of each other and rolled to their own positions seemingly unharmed.
What do you think? It's concentrated light energy manipulated into the shape and texture of a bed!
Guzore ran over to one of the beds and jumped onto it. Surprisingly, it held his weight, and he bounced up slightly.
WOW, BROTHER!! These beds are amazing! They look so glowey and cool!
Thank you, ...brother! If you think that's impressive, you should see how I make my coffee in the mornings!

Both Veneficus and Guzore laughed at the same time in the same way. It was equally as impressive as it was unsettling.

Woah... Zeph said, prodding the Bed with his Stele.
The Stele would faze through the hard-light as if it was a liquid, but when Zeph poked the bed, it felt like a like a regular bed- just... different? It felt...
Artificial.
Now, wait a second. Zeph spoke, straightening his posture and closing his journal, in which he was scribbling notes in and formulas in.
I do have just one question for you Veneficus. He turned to face him, accusingly.
How did you know my full name? I don't tell anyone my full name. and I know for a fact no one told you. He said, still questioningly, now distracted by a few spell books sitting on a desk.
Very curious Indeed.

Sapphire squealed and jumped backwards as beds rained from the sky. She hid under one of the tables for a few seconds, and as the beds settled, she peeked out. She saw Zeph prod the bed with his magic pen, which phased through it, then prod it with his finger, which met the post solidly. Interesting.... Zeph started to protest about how Veneficus knew his name, and thought that was a good point. Sapphire crawled under the bed, not feeling safe to sleep in the open, and pulled the blanket off the bed for her to sleep on.

Veneficus turned to Zeph.
Oh, did I? Oopsies, my bad.
Ignoring Zeph's question, Veneficus turned to Jakub.
So, Jakub. Do you remember when you lost your sword all that time ago?

Ravoo looked at the glowing bed in front of him, It was made of concentrated light. He thought to himself; How is light solid? Whose idea was it to make a bed for sleeping out of light? With all the light, how are we expected to go to sleep? It even hurts my eyes just looking at the thing...

He decided to try it out anyways, seeing as the others seemed to enjoy it. He began to sit on it but just stumbled and fell through it straight onto the ground. "Ow! Vun-iffi-cuse why me bed no solid?" He exclaimed as he staggeringly stood back up again.

A bunch of light and beds and stuff did some sort of funny stuff. Shia watched it, confused. "Huh..." Zeph's comment got her to turn around indignantly. "Hey, I know your full name," she mumbled. Whatever... She wandered over to a bed near a wall. Then she tried to put her hand on it. She jumped back and cried out, glaring at Veneficus accusingly. "What'd you do that for?" Not funny...

A few seconds previous...
Ferondir shook his head; he was still a bit nauseous from the teleport. He felt a hand grab his sleeve, and looked over.
"Hey, Della. You alright?"
[she nodded]
"Good."
At this point, the ceiling split open and the magical/mechanical device descended and started constructing beds. When it finished. Ferondir approached one of the luminescence beds, Della still at his side.
"That is some nice tech." Ferondir said. "So, you're an thaumaturge then?"
(Thaumaturge is hereafter defined as a sort of "Steampunk wizard." Mixing mech and magic.)
He didn't bother to set his hand on the bed. He knew condensed light when he saw it.
"Where do you get the energy to sustain it?" The power required to keep this much light contained was immense.
He touched it with his hook. It sank through the light as if it was not there. It appeared that any foreign magical object would sink right through it. Which meant that...
"Ravoo!" he shouted, but the anouki had already launched himself toward the bed. He cringed when he heard the thud.

Veneficus rubbed his forehead.
Huh... That doesn't usually happen.
Veneficus pulled out a drawer and took a purple magnifying glass with three red triangles on the top out of it. He held it over Ravoo and then over Shia.
Ooh, very interesting. If I were to guess what was happening, I'd say that the condensed light's energy was having too strong of a reaction with another type of magic. To answer your question though, I gather light during the daytime and store it in the form of condensed light energy through a device I designed a few decades ago. I call it the Light Energy Machine Operated Naturally, or LEMON for short.
Veneficus laughed at his own joke as Amethyst walked up to him.
Veneficus, if we have the ability to time travel, couldn't we just go back in time and stop the Bordix in the first place?
Excellent question, zora #2. I thought about that, but after doing some research and experimentation regarding time shift stones, I've found that avoiding time paradoxes is... complicated. Picture this: A bubble that represents the present and everything that exists in it. If you go back in time and change small things, the bubble will expand slightly to allow for the new possibilities and changes to exist. If you make a major change though, the bubble gets too big and splits into two seperate timelines.
Amethyst stared at him, confused.
I know it's hard to understand at first. Basically, if we make any changes major enough to alter something completely in the present to the point of it either existing or not existing entirely, that will only make a new timeline with that change and leave the old one behind. Two seperate universes with different outcomes will exist. If we make small changes though that don't affect the future in any major ways, there will still be one universe that remains the same in the present. Since Jakub's sword was lost anyway, it won't make a difference if we become the ones who take it away from him.

Shia scowled. "Whatever, I'm going to sleep." Since the beds were causing a reaction, she moved away from them and sat down cross-legged on the floor. Her eyes closed.

Veneficus shrugged.
Sorry, those were the only beds I had. You're all welcome to sleep in some of my chairs if you'd like though. In the meantime, I'm going to go work on optimizing my time travel instrument.
Veneficus began to walk away, but then stopped and realized he had forgotten something.
Oh! Drimaethor, I have something to show you.
Veneficus pulled open another drawer in his desk full of random papers and scrolls. He pulled out a dusty and tattered scroll and unrolled it. He showed it to Drimaethor.
