[Falls]

Tessa frowned at Lucien's words, dissatisfied with the thought of crispy bacon. She watched him gather the necessary materials to begin the cooking, mulling glumly over crispy bacon before snapping. "That's crap," she declared with her hands on her hips. "Total bull pucky! Crispy bacon has all the juices burnt out of it! Make it floppy!" Suddenly she was behind him on her tiptoes, her hands on his shoulders as she leaned into him and put her chin on his shoulder. "Pleeeeaaaase make it floppy? Please please please please..."

Lucien glanced to the girl, scowling. "Ugh, you're picky. Fine, I'll make half of the pack floppy, just for you," he spoke, rolling his eyes. He got out a plate, tearing some paper towels and laying them on the plate. He took out some of the bacon early, so Tessa wouldn't complain, and set it down on the plate. He left his on awhile longer until it was crispy, the way he liked it, then set them on the plate, as well. He just needed to wait for it to cool down, so he wouldn't scald his mouth. That was always an unpleasant thing to do.

Tessa grinned, satisfied with Lucien's compromise. She stayed by the stove to keep him company as he cooked and also to watch the bacon. When it was finished, he set it out on a plate with paper towels laid under the bacon and then stayed away to avoid burning himself. Unfortunately Tessa wasn't so wise. "...OW!" A piece of bacon went flying in her efforts to let go of it as quickly as possible. She popped her burnt forefinger into her mouth first, sucking at it woefully before moving on to her thumb.

Lucien flicked his gaze to Tessa as she yelled and threw the piece of bacon, watching with a snigger as she sucked on her burnt fingers. "That's your own fault for not thinking first," he teased her, raising an eyebrow as his eyes rested on her. Lucien turned to the cabinet and got out two glasses, filling both of them with water. He took one for himself, and left the other for Tessa. He didn't really have anything to drink besides water, and hey, it was healthy. He set his glass down, leaning against the counter. "So, is there anything in particular you would like to do with our time?" he inquired, giving a little sigh.

Tessa accepted the glass of water, dipping her throbbing fingers into the cool liquid instead of drinking it. She decided to wait until Lucien declared the bacon safe before trying to eat it again. That would probably be best. She took her glass of water to the table and sat, drawing her knees up to her chest in the chair and resting her chin on her knees. Psh, who needs table manners...

"Our time? Are you planning on entertaining me this whole time Lucien?" she teased with a soft smile. "Hmm. Sleep. Let's do lots of that. And eating too. Eating is fun. Vicente took me swimming a while back. Maybe we could do that. I haven't seen the lake in the day time yet. Where is Vicente going?" She tossed that last question in randomly and waited intently for an answer.

Lucien cocked an eyebrow at her tease, not having time to say anything as she continued to jabber on. He reached to the plate and tentatively grabbed a piece of bacon to contentedly munch on as Tessa spoke. The last question caught his attention, and he furrowed his brow slightly before giving a sigh. "Ungolim gave him a contract. So, he's going to kill whoever he needs to kill. And sure, we can go to the lake sometime," he replied dully with a sigh, taking another drink from his water. The darker part of Lucien hoped Vicente wouldn't come back at all, and he wouldn't have to compete... But, ehh, he'd keep that thought to himself...

Tessa observed Lucien closely as he took the bacon and ate it without incident. Aha! Eating time! OM NOM NOM NOM. She was halfway through her third piece when Lucien finished speaking. His vague answer to his question about Vicente dissatisfied her. He'd only told her what she already knew. Her disappointment showed on her face in the form of big forlorn doe eyes. "...So you don't know where he's going to be?" she asked, her voice soft as she reached for another piece of bacon.

[Imma rub her fondness for Vicente in that man's face till he bleeds jealousy. XD]

Oh, and I understand. Not much going on over there at the moment.

Lucien glared at Tessa as she prodded on, and he frowned. "No, I don't. Why is it your top priority to know where that man is going?" Lucien snapped, standing up straight and folding his arms tightly over his chest. He set his jaw, his lip twitching ever so slightly in his irritation at Tessa. Why, now, did she act like Vicente was her life and blood? The man was a vampire for gods' sake, what could be pleasant about him? What did he have that Lucien didn't?! Lucien felt as if he was about to flip his lid and start punching things, but, he simply took a deep breath in an attempt to remain calm.

[Falls]

Tessa's expression went from forlorn to mildly surprised. She just wanted to know where Vicente was going why was that such a hard question to answer? She regarded Lucien quietly for a moment frowning up at his tense posture. ...Is it so wrong to worry about a friend with such a high-risk career? Don't you ever worry, Lucien?"
