Tessa scowled at Lucien, crossing her arms with a huff. "Of course I haven't forgotten! You're right, we should get back to him." she replied grumpily. She sighed, her expression sinking a little bit. "I didn't get him a present," she mumbled, disappointed with herself. Sure, Vicente probably could care less about presents, but she still felt like she'd only done his birthday halfway.

Lucien pursed his lips, exhaling through his nose. "I'm sure he can do without. We've got a t.v. now. Maybe he hooked it up while we were gone. Or maybe he exploded it. He's not very good with technology." Lucien spoke, chuckling out the last sentence to get his point across. Lucien had paid a good bit of money for that t.v., he certainly wouldn't be happy to arrive to an exploded flatscreen in his living room.

Tessa frowned softly at the thought. "I certainly hope he didn't try to set the TV up. We agreed I would get to do that!" She nudged him with a small grin as she began to limp down the path. "You're so mean to poor Vicente. I dunno how he puts up with you, you bully," she chided.

Lucien scoffed at Tessa's accusation of his "attitude" towards the vampire, and he scowled at her. "Mean? How am I mean to him? I treat him just as I would treat others living in my Fort." he grumbled, folding his arms across his chest. He glanced around for Shadowmere, giving a sigh whenever he didn't see the black horse. Chances were, she was going to scare the daylights out of him again, on purpose, because she was just a mean horse.

Tessa shook her head, the waves of her hair bouncing around her face as she did so. Her hair had actually grown quite a bit since she came to the fort. Perhaps she should hunt down a pair of scissors and cut it back down sometime. "You don't insult me nearly as often as you do to him," she pointed out. "That's not very equal treatment, now is it? Bully..." She stuck her tongue out at him.

Lucien arched a brow at Tessa, chuckling lightly. "Would you like me to start insulting you to make it equal?" he asked jokingly as they walked, the dead leaves on the ground crunching beneath his shoes. He didn't bother with trying to be stealthy, because there wasn't a reason to, at the moment. Though Lucien did prefer to move in silence, it was pleasant to not bother himself with it every now and then.

Tessa shrugged, taking a moment to seriously ponder Lucien's joking offer. "Sure, why not? After all, I insult you enough. Isn't it time that I get a little bit of payback?" She gave a lopsided grin as she limped alongside him, her crutch clicking noisily with each step.

Lucien raised his eyebrows at her, holding back a smirk. "Well, alright then. Don't say I didn't warn you." he scoffed in an amused voice, glancing at her as she limped alongside him. "By the way, I think the stitches in your leg should be ready to come out. It won't be anywhere as painful as getting you lung stitched." he chuckled, referring back to when she'd first gotten her injury.

Tessa idly wondered how good Lucien would be at digging up insults for her. This could get interesting. Her hand moved to her side at the mention of the stitches in her lung and she frowned softly. "I certainly hope not. That was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life." She sighed, shaking her head as if to shake away the memory. "I'll let you take them out when we get back. I'm too much of a wimp to do it myself."

Lucien nodded, giving a small smirk. "If there's a Fort to get back to, that is. Let's just hope that Vampire hasn't attempted to set up the television." he joked lightly. He didn't think Vicente could actually cause an explosion, but, he had his doubts. Vicente could hardly work an Iphone very well. All he knew how to do was make calls and texts. He dully wondered when Vicente would be leaving for the contract that Ungolim assigned to him. The vampire was certainly skilled in combat, so surely it wouldn't take that long. That was, unless the target was far away.
