Ferondir turned to her. "I don't really care what the rest of them do. They'll be fine. No we're in, we're fine. Just chill."
He glanced at Rex, and directed his words to Jakub. "If we were a bit less conspicuous, that would be GREAT!"
He realized he was shouting, and looked away from them. "I'm sorry, just seeing my best friend knock out a guard like it was nothing..." He paused. "Those were the kings men, why would you do that?"

Shia looked down so they couldn't see her face. "The guards have never done me any good."

"I understand." Ferondir said. "Just Promise me you won't kill, they're people just like you and I, trying to live. Let them."
He wanted to trust her, to be her friend, but he couldn't befriend someone who didn't value human life. He had seen her strike the man down, in that instant, she didn't care if the guard lived or died.
"Please promise me," he pleaded.

Shia looked up sharply. "Never, Ferondir. I would never kill without reason. There is nothing more disgusting to me than wasting life pointlessly, whether it's contained in a mouse or a human." She took a deep breath. "I promise I won't kill unless necessary." Her voice turned bitter and quiet. "Though that's more than I can say for them."

Day 6 (Morning)/Amethyst/17/Where: Castle Town/With:Ferondir and Shia

Amethyst lost Sapphire in all of the commotion with the guards. She ran around, looking for her, until she stumbled into Ferondir and Shia. She turned towards them with a determined look in her eyes.
... Have any of you seen Sapphire?

Ferondir sighed. "Thank you. It's never necessary, there is always a choice." He ignored her last whispered statement. He'd think about that later. In the mean time, there was a Zora streaking toward them.
"...Have any of you seen Sapphire?" He wasn't entirety sure that she wasn't Sapphire. Zoras are difficult to tell apart.
"No, but calm down. I'm sure she's fine. The people of Castle Town are very fond of Zoras."

Day 6 (Morning)/Amethyst/17/Where: Castle Town/With:Ferondir and Shia

Calm down? There was no way Amethyst could calm down at a time like this. Sapphire could be getting arrested or having a panic attack or lost!
That may be, but I'm not very fond of people.

"Do you have a plan? Have you thought about this?" Ferondir asked. "Is your freaking out helping her in any way at all? Calm down. We'll help you find her." He looked round at Shia and Jakub. "All of us."

Shia nodded.

How dare they imply that she was freaking out for no reason? Oh boy, now they were trying to do her job for her.
I'm fine. I can handle this myself.
With that, she ran off down the alleyway.
