"I think that's more of a nurture over nature thing... They may grow to like some things you'll like. I don't think anyone really picks designs based on what the baby would like... most people seem to just... pick something that they like for the baby, or they pick something plain, when it comes to cots and whatnot. As for the room, just keep anything that could be dangerous well out of reach and any outlets covered, I don't think you'd need to change too much unless it'd be overstimulating or something... but Thriller seems much more... quote-unquote realistic than Sci-Fi and Fantasy and assumingly Horror, so I'm sue they'll be fine there. Toys however... seem to range quite a lot. They do have teddy bears and rattles, yes, but there's much more. Like, the thing with the shaped block holes that... probably teaches hand-eye coordination and... shape-related matching skills? I don't know what they're called. There's also toys that have buttons and blinky lights and make noises... those might be of interest as long as they have volume settings. If they're the kind that are constantly on, as in, you don't have a switch as an override, you could end up... stepoing on it or something and it just starts talking, and honestly, it's just uncomfortable waiting on a toy to finish its sentence. They also go off sometimes on their own if you're unlucky enough. Which... probably means if you get one that just goes off on its own, you're going to have more noise than desired. There are... multitudes of toys out there. I'm not even sure what exactly the basics are, but I'm sure they're out there somewhere..."

"But I don't like things properly! And I have dozens of dangerous items in my room! And on my person! Right. I... I'll baby-lock everything. And I suppose I can design safety features that work like... anti-traps." Three took a deep breath. "Right. I can redesign my room for them and... work out things that would be good to like? It sounds like a productive project. I just wish I had more time for it. And I probably don't need a lot of toys straight away, do I? They don't seem to be able to do things without head support at the moment, so if I just get the bear and the rattle?" Three held the baby up slightly, looking at a screen full of cuddly toys. "Um, which of these do you like? Oh, some of them aren't bears, I don't believe. Is that all right?"
((I guess thinking about it, Maedryn probably did give baby Three hand/eye coordination toys and stuff. But not in fun baby colours, and they definitely didn't get anything soft or with no other purpose than just Fun))

"Well, I think it's the toyness of it... They'll eventually learn about real bears, and these are more cartoonish representations, I think. Besides... I'm sure false bears are real bears somebear- er, somewhere." Lucas did not laugh at this utter mistake of a word.
[[*Reanimated bear thoughts ensue*
also Somebear was the best pun I've thought of in quite some time. I think I should feel proud.]]

"Cartoonish representations. Right. I'm sure that is quite adequate for newborn children. Yes. Of course." Three nevertheless continued scrolling through several pages, eventually stopping on a cuddly dog. "This is a cuddly dog," Three told the child. "The colour and markings are not entirely correct, but it looks more realistic than the bear, and real dogs tend to be a lot less dangerous. What do you think?"
The baby made no response, other than blinking up at Three.
"Well. No complaints, I suppose. Now we just need a rattle."
((You should!

Lucas nodded. "Those come in... many shapes, if I remember right. I think the only real unifier with rattles is that they- well, rattle. Usually with inaccesible beads or something inside them."
[[I Very Much Appreciate rowan,,,
I'd show my little sock-creature whom of which I named Baby as a child (I haven't had the will to rename him something other than that, even though it must be a very demeaning name to have, one that may result in him being less likely to be employed. it's honestly really irrelevant of me to say this but there are Much Better Names and Much Worse Names out there.) but alas, i am unable to photograph at this moment. soon. eventually. maybe. he's a good sock-being though, basically a pattern from a book called "stupid sock creatures" without one little detail. pretty sure he was basically the "owsley" pattern, for reference- but with this brown and blue sock(s?) and he has mismatched button eyes and- i am really going in-depth over this huh,,,]]

"Right. And this is a reputable site, so they aren't going to break and spill the beads and risk the baby choking on them. Um, DarkBoard, please could you run a scan to double check they're safe? And thank you for your help, both of you."
((Three rlly needs to go see Ulik so she can Name morgan and i don't have to keep just calling em The Baby

"You're welcome. And if you want my help again, I can definitely offer it. And I don't know if you'll even want to tell Lazarus, since, now that I think about it, his knowledge might consist of mostly Inamonthian Weirdness, but if you want I can try to decipher some of it and start... Vaguely asking about babies or something." That wouldn't be betrayal, since he could literally ask for random baby knowledge from anyone and try to figure it out if he needed to...
[[They do. I also really like how we've just been Capitalizing stuff and- I don't think I've pointed that out before, capitalizing is Very Fun.

"I feel it would be difficult to keep the baby's existence a secret. I'd prefer you didn't spread this around yet, but you may tell Lazarus about them, if you wish." Three looked down at the baby again. "I need to give you a name. I can't keep calling you the baby. That feels insulting. I'm sorry. I just don't know what name you'd like. And I don't know... how to be imaginative."
"Consider an accurate descriptor. Such as Ineffectual Flesh Infant."
"They are going to grow, you know. Humans do that. And I must question the accuracy of "ineffectual". Physically, perhaps, but they seem to be having a... somewhat significant emotional effect. Um. Anyway. Could you send the clothes and toys here, and the rest of the equipment to my room please, DarkBoard? I should go and speak to Professor Ulik. Oh. Lucas. Is there anything you need before I go? I'm sorry, I meant to ask you how you found Maedryn's fortress earlier, but the baby has been somewhat distracting. You have my apologies."
((Capitalising is Important and Good. As are cuddlies very much. One of my absolute faves is Wonky - he's a tiny tiger i got as the free toy in a magazine when I was like ten? But he was smaller and wonkier than the other tigers, like he was made out of the left over bits? Which makes him the most special and wonderful.))
