"Yes, we can," Lucas replied, taking the rest of the books and pocketing them, putting the others in the pockets as well, shifting the pots back to where they were positioned in his arms.

Aurion nodded, leading the way to Maedryn's trophy room, filled with various artefacts she'd taken from places and people she'd conquered. "Apparently, whenever Maedryn conquered a planet, she'd take their most powerful super weapon as a trophy, to demonstrate how even their best was nothing against her. But I bet some of them are still worth getting hold of," said Aurion, looking around.

"Super weapons..." Lucas should've expected super weapons. Those were usually intimidating. He glanced at the plants in his arms. He probably should figure out how often all of the plants needed to be watered. He'd hate to have experiments die on him, not to mention plants with such potential... especially this metallic one that might secrete some sort of poisonous liquid? It was at least dangerous... He'd handle that with gloves on. Maybe it'd be a nice sword? A plant sword? That would be interesting... Oddly, this did not invoke another bout of sword cafe thoughts.

"Of course super weapons! What did you expect Maedryn the Quantum Sorceress, Terror of Three Worlds, to have in her trophy room?" He paused, frowning. "Did you know her? I know she didn't teach first years but... you were there in the holidays, weren't you? When she... mysteriously disappeared?"

"I was at the Academy, yes, but I'm not entirely sure what happened," he half-lied. Was... this a betrayal? It didn't feel like one, since it was just a half-lie, he wasn't sure of the exact manner Maedryn died in, so he channelled not knowing that into his answer to ensure it didn't play off like an obvious lie. He really didn't like the fact that this could be betraying Aurion's trust, after all, he was a minion now, but... this was something between just him and Three (well, and Lucdust, but Lucdust... well, Lucdust probably didn't even consider themself a part of that despite having memories of it?), and it definitely felt like a much greater secret than much else he knew about. It was, at least, the lesser of two betrayals in his opinion. "I also didn't know her. I know a bit about her from Three, but that's it, really." That one wasn't as much of a lie. Minus that brief encoumter with her, he didn't really know her, and he was more comfortable saying this than the last thing. "Honestly, I don't know what to expect from trophy rooms. I think my parents may have had one, but... I'm not even sure which room that was? It might be lost to... weird dimensional things. Or it isn't and it just got moved around somehow. I can't explain why that'd be, it's... a thing that happens in my home dimension. But I guess that just means trophy rooms vary a lot... I certainly don't remember any super weapons in my parents' one." While this wasn't clearly an effort to divert the conversation - in fact it's what he was thinkihg anyways, because, well, he had almost forgotten about the mansion's one and now he wasn't sure it even existed anymore and that was definitely a place his mind would wander to, not to mention the lack of super weapons - but it was somewhat convenient as one.

Aurion narrowed his eyes. "Three didn't tell you what happened then? While you were becoming friends?" he almost spat. Then smirked. "I suppose you still don't know one another very well, do you?" He started examining an intricate looking sculpture, that seemed to glow as he touched it. "Your parents had a trophy room, though? You haven't told me about your backstory yet. Were they powerful?"


((Aurion, who is still Jealous Boy is pretty sure Three killed maedryn, which three has neither confirmed nor denied, and now he's just, "aha i am still the Superior Friend because they haven't told You what happened either, and they totally would have told Me if I was there".

Lucas ignored that last part. If only Aurion knew. He'd put up with it for the sake of keeping the secret. "My past... Well, my parents were villains, they were quite powerful but that doesn't feel as relevant to my backstory itself. Not much happened during my childhood except being ignored a lot, though my sisters also became villains and they were doing alright at that point, I end up at the Academy, nothing interesting happens for my first semester, Lazarus and I start our rivalry in my second, I befriend Three during break, Lazarus and I become boyfriends, we hang out in his world for a while during the break, we come back from break, and almost as soon as we're back at the Academy, our worlds decide to merge, some other things like my parents dying and me getting their mansion happened and then Lucdust existing because I disintegrated some stuff while I was looking around the place with Three- it's... something, to say the least. It's gotten more, er... interesting, as of late with my dimension fusing itself with Lazarus's. Hence why I'm not sure where the trophy room went; Lazarus's home dimension was very abnormal in comparison to mine, and it's like the world doesn't even follow its own laws. And I think you've already heard the chocolate milk thing. That's one of my better examples of Inamonthian weirdness that I can describe easily other than Lucdust... whom I am still trying to work out how they work. Not to mention physics only applies to most things, and there's entire, seemingly not by any form of magic, floating balconies that just hover in a field for no real reason. Not to mention my basement and attic either have a portal between them or my basement has a portal to an alternate world just lying around. So... I think that's about it..."

"Well, I hope you don't expect me to say anything sympathetic, like that I'm sorry for your loss. Congratulations on your inheritance. So, you must be... important, then?"

"I guess I must be. That's a notion I haven't really considered. I must have some sort of importance, in the scheme of things... I think. I don't know if you want to hear any of my theories on the world I live in, but if I dip into that, it might be easier to explain... Unless that's not the kind of importance you meant. In any case..." He shrugged. "You've at least made me realize I'm relevant in some way, somehow... Other than in the interpersonal relationships things. I've known about that sort of importance for a while now..."
