Sorrelstar whirled around to find herself face to face with Jaystar. The other she-cat didn't look so happy when their gaze met, like she was fighting the urge to pounce Sorrelstar. There had been rumors flying around about how Soulclan was allying with Tumbleclan in the upcoming fight but Sorrelstar had a feeling there was more to Jaystar's 'problem' than that. "Of course Jaystar, what is it you wanted to discuss? I would hate for our two clans to have...problems." She oriented herself so her back was to the other leaders and her focus on Jaystar. "This wouldn't have anything to do with he disappearance of my daughter over your border would it?"

"This is Sharkfang, he's an...old friend of mine." Malloweyes's eyes twinkled as she introduced the other she-cats to her newest, or rather oldest, ally. The tone behind her mew suggested there was more to that story than she was letting on. "Delighted to meet you all. Mallow has told me all about your cunning," he smiled at Swanfoot and Nettlefoot, "and your relentless brutality." With that he let his gaze rest on Thistlethorn, grinning pointedly. "Thistlethorn right? Nice to meet another ruthless cat." Burntsoul rolled her eyes and flopped down to listen to the leaders arguing on the highrock. Flirting was gross. Malloweyes got back to the topic at paw. "I too have heard about Soulclan allying with Tumbleclan- good work the both of you, but how did you convince Jaystar? Oh," she grinned nastily, "Would it have something to do with were our most nervous warrior went?"

Mintstar lacked any of her former hesitation as she lead her Clan towards the Gathering, whatever fear and anxiety she held in the past of going to such events evaporated into thin air as she strode confidently. She needed every Clan to know that even with their founder gone, PineClan was still as strong and as prosperous as ever. With a wave of her tail, her cats moved to join the clearing below while she made her way over to where the other leaders were located. Duckfoot nuzzled her cheek affectionately before seating himself where several of the warriors were at. Mintstar watched him go and took a deep breath before speaking up. "Hello again, you might've known me as PineClan's deputy but, as of Leaf-bare - I became it's leader." She meowed to the others, a tingle in her paws as she declared her new rank.

Rowanpelt suppressed a sigh of relief that Ramhorn approached him without any trouble, though the tom appeared rightfully confused as they had never spoken before. So far he seemed enough, and if Wasptail trusted him, that must have meant he was a good cat. The PineClan deputy glanced around to make sure they were out of earshot from any other cats and spoke once he was sure no one would overhear them. "You know Wasptail, right? Oh, whoops, that's a silly question." He let out an embarrassed laugh before continuing. "She's a good friend of mine and wanted me to tell you something since she couldn't come so... to put it simply, you're going to be a father."

Weaselstorm was just about to greet the other medicine cats until he felt Shadepaw nudge him, he stared down at his apprentice and frowned as he noticed her sad stare directed at the Highrock. No doubt she was thinking about her mother again, the recently departed leader of PineClan, and the source of her current grief - Shadowstar. Shadepaw wanted to look away, but she couldn't stop imagining her mother's figure standing proudly atop the stone, she tore her eyes away once she pictured Shadowstar's angry golden stared directed at her. "Let's go somewhere else, please." The young cat meowed shakily, Weaselstorm silently nodded, looking at her with a helpless expression on his face upon hearing his apprentice's pained tone. The two padded towards a secluded part of the Gathering hollow, Shadepaw being the first to spot Hearthflame's black pelt in the shadows, she was about to mention the tom until Weaselstorm approached him first. "Hearthflame?" He meowed, calling for him.

Aspenheart titled his head in confusion, stumped on finding something to talk about too, until he remembered how Rosefur mentioned her brother earlier. "And Ashpaw? Did you come with you?" He asked, a little curious about the ginger tabby's family.

''Don't say sorry, I won't blame you'' Burrwhisker replied. ''If she's attacking you, I can hardly make you not fight back.'' The tabby flicked his ears, considering fleeing and hiding. It'd be possible and the tabby would leave the battle unscathed...but then again it'd be dreadful to do so, considering that his whole life, Burrwhisker had dreamed of being a hero. If he were to flee from a battle, then how much of a hero would he be? ''If I attack your brother, please don't feel hurt...'' he sighed. ''It's self-defense, Sedgetail, it's what it is.''

Palepaw could not help but snicker in response. Turned out that Snowpaw was actually a pretty chill guy once you got to know him, didn't stop him from looking so ladylike. Flicking his tail, Palepaw shook his head lightly. ''Gotcha dude, wish me luck then.'' the tabby murmured. ''Aaaand is that why Tawnystar's not here?'' he inquired. ''Ashstripe told me about it...dudes got a crush on me.''

Swanfoot eyed up Sharkfang for a moment more, noting the muscles that rippled under his battle-worn pelt. ''A good ally, I'd say.'' Swanfoot replied, turning back to Malloweyes. Naturally the older warrior would choose well, she wasn't Swanfoot's idol for nothing. Turning to the high rock, where it appeared that Jaystar was confronting Sorrelstar with Sagestar watching wordlessly, Swanfoot nodded. ''Yes...indeed.'' The white warrior turned to Nettlefoot and Thistlethorn. ''You two rascals...good work.''

Rosefur nodded eagerly. Despite her loss of a close bond with her brother, the ginger warrior had plenty to say about him. ''He's just gotten his name today, Ashstripe and plus I think he's got a crush!'' she squeaked. ''He used to say stuff like love was gross....look at him now!'' (I've got to go now, Tumble offers allegience to Quartzclan!

Robinstar led her cats into the clearing, immediately breaking away to join the leaders. She forced what she hoped looked like a warm smile. "Hello, everybody," she greeted. "For those of you who don't know me, my name is Robinstar. I'm the leader of AspenClan. So, how have your Clans been doing? Is everything going well? No... deaths or anything?" the patched leader inquired, trying to sound casual.

Tanglestep padded confidently into the clearing by Robinstar's side. He couldn't help but be filled with happiness and pride now that Brambletooth was exiled. The look on Birdpaw's face when she watched him leave was just priceless! Sparkfur seemed convinced that the new deputy was innocent, but his sister and mother could be difficult. Tanglestep made a mental note to care care of them later, but for now, he had to find Barkknot. After her sudden disappearance at their last meeting, he had been aching to see her again.

Sootpelt slowly weaved through the crowd, sorrow and concern tainting his expression. He still wasn't used to attending Gatherings without Speckledpaw. The death of the cheerful apprentice had left a gaping hole in his daily life. With Rippleberry gone as well, Sootpelt had been in a state of desolation for moons. At least he had his kits. Sootpelt shook his head briskly in an attempt to clear it and approached the other medicine cats. "Hello," he mewed. "In case you don't already know me, my name is Sootpelt. I'm AspenClan's medicine cat."

Cherryclaw raised her eyebrows, a smile spreading across her maw. "Thank you," she mewed slowly. "For liking me. And for thinking I'm funny," she added quickly. "I like... being with you. You make me feel like I'm not so bad after all," the young she-cat mewed playfully.

"Me? Oh, um, I'm from AspenClan," he mewed, staring at the ground. Wow. This is going so, so well. I am so good at conversation. Rabbitheart looked around, avoiding eye contact. His mind was screaming at him to stop making this she-cat so uncomfortable and go hide in a quiet tree somewhere, but his legs refused to budge.

Sparkfur meandered through the crowd with his head held high. It was his first Gathering as a warrior, and he was full of pride. He couldn't help but feel a bit glad that his sister wouldn't be attending. She would've spend the whole time trying to defend a murderer. It didn't matter that he was their father — Brambletooth didn't deserve a spot in the Clan. Just thinking about the situation in AspenClan made the young warrior's tail lash in fury. He stared at his paws, not even seeing the younger she-cat before he barreled straight into her. "Mousedung! I'm sorry," he muttered awkwardly.

Squirrelstar purred happily when she saw Jaystar clambering up onto the leaders rock. The ginger leader hurried forward to greet her friend but stopped when she noticed Jaystar going up to Sorrelstar, a determined look on her face. The Echoclan leader backed up into her spot, knowing that now wasn't a good time to greet her best friend.

She looked over when she heard Sagestar's speaking. "Good day." She mewed before turning her attention away, her tail lashing slightly.

Ramhorn's green gaze widened in surprise, a happy smile splaying across his muzzle. "Really?! How far along is she? Is she going to have them soon?" His long, white pelt bushed up in excitement. "This is great!"

Brindlecloud turned her attention to Frigidrose and her kits as they moved through the crowd. "Hm.. well if she wants to talk, I'm sure Squirrelstar will be happy too." She broke off and watched Bloodyclaws through slitted eyes as he moved around the clearing. "Grr..."

Because of the impending Tumbleclan vs Beechclan war, Morningstar had decided to bring only a few cats to the gathering. A wave of his tail beckoned the little group of cats to his side. "Come on." He murmured, wondering just how chaotic this gathering would be.
Arriving at the gathering clearing, Morningstar looked over at the leaders as he approached. After greeting them with a polite hello, Morningstar stepped back into his usual spot, ears pricked to their conversations.

Woolyfur with deputies

Woolyfur too did little more than crouch in his usual spot with the deputies. With all the wars going on, he believed that Caveclan's policy of distancing themselves from the other clans was a good one. They had a few allies but rarely got involved with wars.

Cloudpool + Dappleleaf with medicine cats

Dappleleaf had decided to stick with Cloudpool as the rest of her clan already wondered if she was becoming medicine cat. Lilystem had asked her why she spent so much time gathering herbs with Cloudpool and Dappleleaf had told her she liked the work. Cloudpool murmured a soft hello to the other medicine cats and introduced Dappleleaf. "Hello," She murmured. The pair crouched quietly together, pelts not quite brushing but still very close.

Sedgetail With Burrwhisker

"I know," Sedgetail murmured. "If Harespring attacks you, he won't hold himself back. It's self-defense." She didn't want either of them to get hurt, but during battle that was impossible. They'd have no choice but to attack.

Mintstar was confused and slightly disturbed over the AspenClan's leader's question, at least she attempted to sound casual talking about a subject as morbid as death. The leader hesitantly nodded to her, she supposed now was as good a time as any to say that Shadowstar had died. "We lost our first leader Shadowstar last leaf-bare, she..." Mintstar paused, there was no way she going to say that the former leader's own daughter had poisoned her, she didn't want to paint poor Shadepaw in a negative light as the molly was already suffering enough. "S-sorry, it's still hard to talk about."

Rowanpelt couldn't hold back a laugh at Ramhorn's happy reaction, he was quite relieved too, he couldn't bare to return home to Wasptail if the tom expressed anything other than happiness. "Really early along, according to our medicine cat, she's already pretty protective over them, and they're not even born yet!" He mewed, then again Wasptail always had taken anything about her family seriously, it was no surprise she was being careful about her first litter. "Your secret's safe me with, by the way. Wasptail's a good friend of mine, and I promise to keep her and your kits' safe as best I can." Rowanpelt meowed with a tone more serious then his last.

Aspenheart could hardly believe Rosefur was so excited over the thought of Ashstripe having a crush, when his own brother Magpiewhisker was mooning over Fawnfur, he often felt like he wanted to gag. He didn't like the molly at the time, in fact he still didn't, though he refused to openly state his distaste for the queen nowadays lest he get a burning angry look from his brother in response. Aspenheart wasn't about express anything like that to Rosefur though, so he smiled at her words instead. "Ain't that something? Ha, well I wish him luck with his crush."

Sorrelstar's calm tone was enough to make Jaystar unsheathe her claws. But she didn't use them except to claw at the rock beneath them in an attempt to anchor herself. And boy did she need it with the savage thoughts that flowed in her mind as a simple means to destroy that smooth tone in the other leaders voice. But she too could appear just as calm. "Actually it does. Your warrior, your child has indeed crossed our border and is now in our custody." She stated, still as calm as she could manage.

Hearthflame contemplated sleeping or going back to camp, but with Jaystar on the fence he didn't want to miss out just in case she got hurt or needed him for any reason. Though that was highly doubtable. Suddenly the sound of his name made him flinched. No one had called to him since Aspenleaf started blatantly ignoring him. So it was more than a surprised to hear come from anyone else. But the one who owned the voice was a sight for sore eyes. He genuinely smiled for the first time in moons and and stepped a bit more into the moon light. "H-Hey. You don't know how happy I am t-to see you. Ah, both of you. Hi Shadepaw." His voice sounded as natural as ever but it now held more distance and pain.

Wasn't in the mood to converse. He was still mentally grieving over the loss of the molly who was like a sister to him. Aspenleaf didn't deserve to die. Beechclan needed understand that would not get away with such heinous crime. But the gray tom still allowed a smile to cross his maw as he moved about the gathering, not wanting to be frowned upon by Starclan.

Thistlethorn's suspicion disappeared the instant Malloweyes mentioned him as a friend. She watched him introduce himself and she allowed herself to fully relax and return his smile with a simple roll of her eyes. "Oh hun, ruthless wouldn't begin to describe it." She bragged. Nettlefoot nudged her sister with a giggle. "I'm just as bad." "I'd be nowhere without you." They smiled before turning their attention to Jaystar. "Oh its starting!" "If you mean Barkknot then yes. The poor thing was in the wrong thing at the wrong time." "She's a really easy little thing, under our caring care now. And with a little help from Thistlethorn, Jaystar isn't going to be so keen on giving her back until equal pay is returned."

Mistlepaw didn't get why her mother brought her back here? She had no reason to be here and be forced to interact with others. It made no since and Mistlepaw had half the mind to turn tail and leave, but as the thought came, she thought of how Mudpaw would tease her for being a soft molly for wanting to leave. It made her chest hurt, but it also kept rooted to her spot, sitting with her tail wrapped around her paws. And her head was down, gazing at Mudpaw's blue ribbon now tied to her tail so she never lost hpit. Never lost him.

"Yes, thank you," Emberstar meowed. She decided it would be best not to say anything about Shadekit or her mother. She didn't want to think about it and didn't know if she would even mention it in her announcement.

As Ashenclaw padded towards where the deputies were gathered, he glanced around, trying to find Sheepclaw. AsterClan didn't make an appearance at the last Gathering, and he could only hope they would be here this time.

At Brindlecloud's growl, Appleheart turned and followed her gaze to a brown tabby. "Um," he mewed uncertaintly, "who's that? What's going on?"

A small smile appeared on Willowcloud's face as she watched Appleheart hurry over to greet his friend. Hopefully she could make a friend or two this time. "Hello," she mewed to the others.

Breezepaw let out a loud, exasperated sigh, "Well, if you're not going to talk to anyone, then I will. See you." Her ears turned back with frustration, the apprentice quickly padded away from her mother and brother. Frigidrose narrowed her eyes. "Come on, Cinderpaw. Let her be," she growled, stalking off in the opposite direction from her daughter.

Breezepaw, huffing, wanted to get as far away from her mother as she could manage. There she was, wanting to be all 'evil' and everything and she couldn't simply approach anyone. Didn't Frigidrose know that you can't tell if a cat has the same despicable, murderous thoughts as you do by just looking at them? The apprentice tried to calm herself, clear her mind. Maybe she would make a friend here and have a better time than she would by following her mother around and doing basically nothing.

Frostpath didn't know what to say - she wanted to leave right then and there, but she didn't want to seem rude. Finally she thought of something. "So, I - I gotta go, but before I do ... what's your name? - I-I'm just curious, that's all...."

Stormbreeze couldn't help but grin widely, and he hoped it wasn't to the point of being creepy. "Well, I'm glad to hear that," he meowed. "So..." he started, deciding it would be best to move on to a different subject, "Is AspenClan doing alright?" He was very curious about that, seeing as she had told him about the deaths of two of their apprentices and Robinstar's distress.

"Yeah, it has. Have you gotten to talk to any of the medicine cats yet?" she mewed, a smile on her face. She knew he was shy, and wanted to try her best to help him gather up the courage to talk to some of the others.

foxstar felt quite uneasy with all the cats around him. he felt trapped in crowd of clanners who had shown up at the gathering. it was even worse when the tom realized he had to talk to all these cats without any support from a clan-mate. the new leader gulped and climbed up onto the great rock, feeling very out of place between all of the older and more experienced cats. it seemed like most of them were a feud, and the ginger tom once again felt butterflies in his stomach. "hopefully i don't get noticed too much..."
