Pokémon 1x1 with cryptidthefool

XD I’m fine doing the starter post.
I had to look up Twinleaf town because I’d forgotten what it looked like…but anyway.
I’m going to say Jessel has some sort of relative living there. Not a grandparent, they’d all be somewhere in France, or whatever the Pokémon equivalent of France would be, but she could have aunts and uncles and cousins and stuff around. Ah! I’ll say her second oldest sibling (the sibling that was born before her, she’s the middle child) could be the one living there.]

The pretty girl smiled as she looked down at Scarecrow. He and Yuki were her two favorite Pokémon, so both of them were out of the Pokeballs. She brushed at medium length curly ginger hair. The peachy but pale skinned one then shook her head. Deep brown eyes blinked a couple times, then she looked around. She looked down at her white and light blue shoes. She then adjusted her white and purple hat. She hefted her white and purple bag, which held many items such as medicines, and other Pokeballs. Her main ones were on her belt. She gently touched the ones on her belt, knowing her Pokemon were probably sleeping. Royari was an Espeon Glameow. Potter was a Cubone Umbreon, and his children were a rabbit sheep looking one, Hopper, and then Lichen.

She honestly really liked Lichen too. They were tan with some lighter markings and brown, as well as a skull mask or face and striped ears and the tail was striped too. Shaking her head, she walked. Looking down at the albino Umbreon and tan, slightly darker, cream ruffed and skull masked or faced Scarecrow.

(That got along. Also, she’s in the town or entering the town now.)

The pretty and cute but somewhat handsome golden-tanned one hummed a bit. He blinked a bit, eyes framed by longer lashes. He brushed at his black hair a moment. It went just past his shoulders and was straight, and he had many clips for it. He was wearing the Pokémon ones that day. He had an Umbreon clip, and an Espeon clip and both were keeping his hair out of his eyes. He smiled as he looked at his Pokemon. The melanistic Flareon, Darky, was cuddled up to the Umbreon, Yami, as usual. Sparky, a Jolteon and Hikari, an Espeon, were sitting together. The last two were chasing each other. This being a Vaporeon, Mizu, and an Eevee, Sena. Haku smiled as he looked at them, then went to a window and looked out at the town.

Also, because I only am using one character for this RP currently, I'll just be using Scout's POV. Do I need to use tags? For now I think I'll just write something to start lol.)

Scout was sitting in the garden, with Cinderace next to him and Staraptor resting in the trees above. He sighed quietly, adjusting his his hat so that the sun was out of his eyes. Cinderace's ears suddenly perked up, picking up the sounds of a human and Pokémon. Noticing this, Scout peered through the fence and saw a Trainer and her Pokémon walking down the path that leads to the main road of Twinleaf Town.

The Pokémon definitely seemed unique. Neither Scout nor Cinderace had ever seen Pokémon quite of their combinations so far. Naturally, Cinderace became excited at the prospect of meeting new faces. Scout, however, was content to just sit back and watch from afar. He barely noticed the sound of Staraptor's wings beating before the bird Pokémon took off from the trees, circling the town in order to get a view of the newcomers.

Staraptor swept over the human, not apparently in an attempt to impose or intimidate, but to simply make his presence known. The Pokémon perched on a shaded fence not far from the Trainer, regarding her with sharp red eyes. His gaze was not quite cold or hostile, but neither was it necessarily inviting. He simply watched the group as they started to approach.

The pretty girl giggled at Scarecrow and Yuki. Scarecrow reached out to nudge Yuki, and the albino Umbreon made a small sound. Yuki then pawed out at Scarecrow. Now it was the Cuvee’s turn to make a sound, neither of them having made annoyed sounds. They weren’t annoyed with each other, after all. They were just playing, so it was a sound of amusement and or playfulness.

They then both made happy little sounds back and forth at each other. She wanted to let Royari and the others out now. She probably shouldn’t…since having six Pokemon out might cause chaos. She wanted to give them all chances to be out of the Pokeballs, though. Shaking her head, she picked up Yuki. Looking over the pink marked white Umbreon, then setting them back down again. Scarecrow ran around her legs. Then stopped and leaned on her.

She smiled and leaned down to pat him. As she straightened back up, she saw the shadow overhead and looked up. She saw the Staraptor that was flying around up there. Said Pokemon then landed on a fence nearby, so she approached him in curiousity.

She said “Why, hello there. Aren’t you a handsome fellow?” she questioned, assuming him to be a male from what she saw. She quickly grabbed Yuki as they ran over. Scarecrow approached slowed, and stared down the Staraptor…before stepping closer to Jessel.

(There’s differences in male and female Pokemon. They even more recently made it that female Pikachu have heart shaped tails. I mean…maybe that’s always been a thing, actually. It feels like it was a more recent thing to me though, but anyway yeah, I think there’s differences in any Pokemon, between genders.)

(OOC: Yes, there are actually aesthetic differences in male and female Pokémon for some species! Male Staraptor has a really subtle difference where the spot on his head is bigger! But I like to think that in-universe, there are other ways to indicate gender such as body size or different body structures like in many real-life animals, that are not directly translated into the games/anime. Since Staraptor is based on birds of prey, I’d like to think that the males are typically smaller than the females, since this happens in nature for birds of prey in real life. Also… I get writer’s block sometimes too lol. It happens)

Staraptor
Staraptor appeared almost a little surprised that the girl approached him so casually, but couldn't help easing up a little upon hearing the Trainer speak sweetly to him -- he liked being praised by humans very much, after all. Staraptor stared back and regarded the Pokémon by her side with a bit of wariness, but seemed to warm up to the Trainer, casually ruffling his feathers a bit to signify that he was a bit more comfortable around her.

(OOC: I mean that he was looking at Scarecrow here, but I forgot what species he is ;_;)

Scout
“Staraptor took off again,” Scout sighed and got up to exit the garden of his grandparents’ house. Cinderace bounded ahead of him, eager to meet the new Trainer. The rabbit Pokémon skipped and hopped down the road energetically, getting far ahead of his own Trainer. Scout called after him, but he didn’t seem to listen. The Pokémon hummed happily to himself as he stopped a few yards from the group and waved with his arms, excitedly calling out a greeting. In the distance, Scout could be heard yelling for Cinderace as he attempted to catch up.

Yeah, I’d figure size difference would be a thing too. Funny enough, on the Lets Go Eevee and Pikachu games, I think it was, they have text on the screen if you find a smaller or bigger variant of a Pokémon. It was really amusing to see “It’s tiny!” or “It’s huge!” on my screen.

The pretty girl smiled as she looked at the Staraptor. She could see the spot on his head, and she thought it meant he was a male. Not that she had a female one to compare him to. She thought his spot looked a bit bigger, but there was nothing to compare it too. Shaking her head, she grabbed some berries and held them out. Letting him pick one if there were any there that he liked. She then looked down at Scarecrow. She smiled at him, then looked around as she heard someone yelling.

She tilted her head as she looked, and was still holding the berries out. The berries were in one hand, since she was holding Yuki with her other arm. She quickly put Yuki and Scarecrow back in their balls. Yuki was getting too excited, and Scarecrow kept staring down the Staraptor…She said “Sorry about that,” to the Staraptor. She let Royari and Potter out instead. Potter was similar to Scarecrow, in that Potter was a Cubone mixed with an Eeveelution. Their base colors were similar too.

(Scarecrow is a Cubone Eevee. I took to calling that a Cuvee)

The pretty and cute but somewhat handsome black haired one hummed. He went over to pat the youngest of the six. Those being Mizu and Sena. Mizu and Sean were still quite young, old enough to be mates but younger than the others. Yami and Hikari had actually taken her in. Though she’d seemed to gravitate more to Hikari, so Hikari was like her mother and Yami was just an uncle. She’d accepted Sparky as her father, when he’d shown up. Then Darky was another uncle.

(OOC: Sorry for not posting yesterday, I was without my computer or laptop while staying at a relative's house. The Let's Go games were funny, but it's been so long since I've played them so I only vaguely remember them lol!)

Staraptor plucked an Oran Berry from the Trainer's hand and didn't seem to notice Scarecrow anymore, other than when he was occasionally giving the Cuvee a side eye. He gave a mild chirp in thanks to the Trainer as he swallowed it whole, his beak being large enough for him to do so. He noticed the Trainer putting her Pokémon back in their balls as he heard the familiar cry of both Cinderace and his own Trainer. Seemingly a little surprised or embarrassed, the large Pokémon flapped his wings and took off from his spot on the bench, circling his Trainer in the sky as Scout ran towards the rest of the group.

Scout finally caught up and gasped out a response. "I'm... sorry... if they... caused you any trouble," he said between pants. When he seemed to be catching his breath, he said, "Cinderace just gets too excited when he sees new faces around. As for Staraptor..." He turned to see that Staraptor had landed not far behind him, once again staring at the group from slightly afar. "Staraptor just likes the attention he gets from humans. He won't bother you. Sorry about that," Scout apologized again. Staraptor appeared almost a little sheepish with Scout's description of him.

Cinderace energetically bounced up and down and gave a little cry of excitement. He swiftly began circling the group, bouncing around on his feet and inspecting the others, seemingly trying to communicate with them in his language.

"Cinderace! Please give them their personal space!" Scout ordered, and Cinderace pouted slightly before bounding back to stand in front of his Trainer, still looking at Jessel with eager eyes. "He, uh, loves meeting new people. And Pokémon! He loves battling, and comes on a little too strong. My apologies. They can be a handful," Scout said with a tinge of exhaustion in his voice.

[Ah, it’s fine.
I had to stop playing because I got stuck at the Poison gym I think it was…My Pokémon were higher levels, so I thought I could just make it through but no, apparently not…I got stuck at like the second or third trainee. So I just haven’t gone back, I got too frustrated by that.]

The pretty girl giggled when the Staraptor plucked an Oran Berry from her hand. She took the rest of the berries, and glanced to the Cinderace. Wondering if they’d want a berry as well. Since she’d put Yuki and Scarecrow away, she now looked to Potter and Royari. She said “This is Potter and Royari,” to the Staraptor. Royari jumped onto her shoulders, and laid down there. They were laid back, even for a cat like Pokémon. They glanced at the Staraptor, then yawned and laid their head down. Unlike Scarecrow, they didn’t seem to think Staraptor needed to be watched. Jessel smiled, patting them then giving Potter a berry. the Cubone or Marowak and Umbreon hybrid wagged their tail. They took their favorite berry, then looked around.

Jessel smiled as she watched the Staraptor start flying again. He looked great up there, and the sky/air or trees were where she liked to see bird like Pokemon. She glanced to the other trainer. He was surely a boy, and she nodded at him then shook her head. She said “Oh, no, it was no trouble at all. I’m just glad your Staraptor trusted me enough to actually take a berry from me.” She smiled and held out a hand, so he could shake it. Saying “My name is Jessel, what’s your name?” turning it into a question at the end.

She shook her head again, when he apologized to her again. She said “Really, I don’t mind at all, he didn’t do anything agressive or anything.” She offered a smile, then looked at Potter. The tan and black Pokémon, with bluish Umbreon markings, looked at the Cinderace as he ran around them and made noises.

She said “It’s fine, it’s fine. He’s a very cute Pokémon, and Staraptor is quite the handsome fellow.” She’d noticed how the Staraptor had seemed to preen under her praises just moments earlier. She said “I had to put Yuki and Scarecrow away, but these two are Potter and Royari.”

Scout smiled slightly at the other Trainer and her Pokémon as he shook her hand. "My name... Uh, you can just call me Scout, I guess." He laughed nervously and seemed to want to change the subject quickly. "Yes, Staraptor just loves being praised by humans. He lets it get to his head a little," he said and laughed slightly when Staraptor made a chirp in protest. The bird Pokémon inched closer and watched the group again more intently over Scout's shoulder. "But he's a really sweet guy, even if his ego gets the better of him."

Scout lowered himself a little to approach Potter and Royari, not trying to scare them. "I've never seen Pokémon like these before," he said, studying them closely but not imposing on them in case they wanted to check him out first. "They're very pretty! And so unique."

Cinderace seemed impatient, and bounced on his heels a little. He clearly wanted to play, and looked about to disobey his orders to stay still. It almost looked like he was waiting for an invitation to do so. The Pokémon fidgeted in his place.

"Is it alright if Cinderace comes over?" Scout asked, noticing his partner's anxiousness. "Quietly," he added to Cinderace, whose ears perked up at the question.

(OOC Edit: I stopped playing Let's Go too. The catching system would have been nice if it wasn't like Pokémon Go. But I liked the overall setting and thought it was a cute little game.)

The redhead watched as the male trainee smiled slightly at her and the Pokémon. She nodded and said “It’s nice to meet you, Scout.” She tilted her head as she noticed his laugh seemed nervous. She only shook her head, not mentioning it to him. She smiled as she said “Well, he definitely deserves to be praised. His feathers are all nice, I can tell he’s well cared for.” She then nodded as he said his Staraptor was actually sweet, despite the ego. She said “I could see that, he took the berry from my hand really nicely.”

Speaking of, she turned to Cinderace with the rest of the berries still in her hand. “Is Cinderace allowed to have a berry as well?” she asked. Wanting to check with Scout first. She hadn’t exactly asked before giving Staraptor one…and she should have, but she’d wanted to have him trust her, so she’d just done it.

She smiled and nodded at Scout once more. She said “I honestly thought that they’d be born as the mother’s…species or whatever you’d call it. At least, that’s what I’d been taught. However, most of them are fusion/ hybrids as I’ve taken to calling them, and it’s so cool that that can happen.”

She then giggled as she nodded to Scout, and said “Of course.” She’d already asked him the question about the berries, after all. Which she was still holding in her hand. She’d put them away soon, but first she needed to know if Cinderace was allowed to have a berry.

(It was so cute, but the fact you couldn’t like…battle anyone except the gyms was a bit annoying. You could only get experience by catching tons of Pokémon and it seemed to barely give any points per Pokémon you catch, so that put me off a bit, but I did love getting outfits for Eve (that’s what I named my Eevee, because I got Let’s Go Eevee), and I loved going to the dress up trunk or whatever in the bag and changing the outfits on her and my trainee (lol, I’m a girl but I ended up picking a male trainer.))

Scout rolled his eyes and grinned at Cinderace. "Okay, buddy. You can have one berry."

Cinderace gave a small shout in excitement and skipped over to Jessel, taking a Pecha Berry from her hand.

"Hmm... I see." Scout studied the hybrid Pokémon carefully. "I must admit, I've never seen a Pokémon quite like this before." He reached his hand out to see if one of the Pokémon would be interested in approaching him.

Staraptor took off again and perched in a nearby tree, content to watch from afar.

(OOC: Yeah, I didn't like the battle system either. Ironically, I think that if they kept that the same as the traditional games, it would have been the perfect remake of Gen I. I really loved having Pikachu/Eevee on my shoulder and battling like that.)
