Upon hearing Lan express the interest in asking a few questions, Mr. Choi nodded, "Of course - go right ahead." He nodded, inviting her to ask as many questions as she pleased. Suho noticed the seriousness in her tone - she seemed, despite being quite graceful and calm, to be quite direct, ans like she was taking this quite seriously. He could tell, already, that she had a great resolve for the acting industry. He also knew that this meant Director Cha would probably be pleased with her performances and work ethic, which was definitely a big win for her. "Ah - of course! Excellent question," Mr. Choi responded, his gaze shifting over to the other three men, "I believe they can answer that quite satisfactorily." Director Cha nodded briefly, then got straight to business. "The opening scene will start with Hana's narration, explaining her backstory of why she cannot kiss a man, and why so many of her past relationships have failed - of course, her narration will be a voice-over whilst scenes from her child and teen years play along, so we will have you record that audio separately, after the opening scenes have been filmed, Miss Lan. You will, of course, also be joined by several of your costars for these scenes - primarily, Seon Lee and Yeonmi Lee, who will, of course, be playing the roles of Bogum Lee and Song Kim," he began to explain as he set a file that he had been holding under his arm on the desk, opened it, flipped through the pages, and then handed each of them a copy of the movie's script. "We will begin the scene with Hana heading to her classroom; she is professional and composed, yet obviously fuming, judging from her serious expression. The tone of this scene, however, will be more lighthearted, after her initial explosion upon finding her class goofing off. From there, we will see her engage in interactions with Song Kim, Bogum Lee, and of course Seon Jin. These scenes will be less serious and somber than the first scene, and will also be more comedic." "We would like to convey the tone that is displayed within the webcomic, highlighting Hana's upset demeanor, but also encapsulating the comedic and lighthearted undertones that the author has illustrated through Hana's animated expressions. We believe this can be perfectly achieved through body language, facial expressions, and specific vocal inflections that can match the tone that the author was trying to express and convey," Producer Yoon chimed in. "Exactly," Director Cha nodded, "There should be an overall lighthearted theme to begin, throughout these scenes. For your characters, specifically, Hana will be more dejected, grouchy, and somber in some of these opening scenes. Although, her character is, overall, more lighthearted and positive - though, she's also a bit of a worrier. Seon Jin will notably be more stiff, cold, and serious than the other characters, though will loosen up over time. But, overall, his seriousness should enchance the more comedic scenes throughout the film, including the part in scene 4 where Hana realizes that she has accidentally kissed him, instead of Bogum Lee." Suho thought for a moment, taking these words in carefully as he thought about how to compose himself for this role. Director Cha then added, "Go ahead and read through, real quick, all the way to the end of scene 4 (ooc: I'm thinking "scene 4" will be the very end of the first chapter of the Webtoon, lol); and please keep those copies of the scripts to memorize, as well as to reference back to. Also feel free to flip through the actual webcomic, if you have not, already, to see how the author wrote the scenes. We would like to try to stay as close to the original material as we can. I hope that this is a satisfactory answer, though if anything else needs cleared up, please let us know."
Suho nodded and thanked the director as he handed one of the script's copies to him, making a mental note to read more of the webcomic in his spare time. His gaze was on the movie's script as Director Cha and the producers spoke, and while he was very obviously listening and following along well, nodding at their points, he was also already scanning through the lines, in order to try to start getting a good visualization, or at least a rough outline, of how the scenes could potentially play out. He started getting a vision for the character he was playing, and began to think of certain mannerisms and expressions he could you to really convey the desired effects of the character. Meanwhile, Manager Kim was silent; very unlike him, during these types of discussions, since he usually had a list of them. But perhaps it was something that had to do with whatever had just been discussed outside of the room, Suho wondered?
