She bounced down the steps that led to the building, "I vote we go..." She paused and looked to the left first, nothing interesting. Then she looked to the right, a few people stood on the corner waiting to cross, but other than that, nothing. "Right!" She screamed, laughing as it echoed of the buildings. "Hey did you grab some money? I want some ice cream."

He stared at the girls, one was amazing the other seemed to hyper. The man flinched as the hyper on yelled, "Right!" Then something about wanting ice cream. "Ya know Cap, I think we should go right and get ice cream." He smirked.

Ella pushed her hand through her pocket, "I have a 20," she thought for a second, "either we can go and get ice cream, or we can pick up some groceries, because payday is four days away, and all we have in the fridge is some bread, and a half rotten carrot."

Steve laughed slightly, watching the girls too, there seemed to be something about the energetic one that drew him in, "if you're being serious I'm in."

She stopped dead and turned on her heel, looking at her friend. "I'll eat the carrot in nibbles while you eat the bread?" She offered, she really wanted ice cream but she knew they needed the food. With a huff she let her shoulders sag, "I swear one day I will have so much money we wont have to live in this hell hole with no food."

He nodded, "I'm being for real." He stood and waited for the girls to walk again, he felt a little pity for them when the hyper one said her dream out loud.

"We'll still have some money, just not a lot, we can still get ice cream," Ella paused for a second, "I might be able to get a loan from one of my co-workers anyway."

"How about we make it a good day, and buy some ice cream for some pretty girls?" Steve felt sorry for the two girls, having overheard their conversation.

Joy sparked in her eyes, but it disappeared. "But we cant keep doing that... we already owe someone what like, 30 dollars?" She sighed, "We need the stuff we need." She smiled half heartedly at her friend then turned and skipped away, making sure her hair swayed. "Squish 1.... squish 2.... squish 3..."

He nodded and headed for the building stairs that would get them off the roof. Checking his pockets he found 60 bucks. Looking over his shoulder at Steve he laughed, "I got 60, what about you?"

"Nope, we're getting ice cream, I can pay everyone back in a few weeks," she stated with some confidence, but secretly worried slightly about the money she owed some friends, some of which Coal didn't even know about.

Steve patted his pockets, pulling out two twenties and a wadded up receipt for the chicken place three blocks away, "I got forty."

She didn't turn around as her friend spoke, but kept skipping. The sound that made her turn around was a door closing from the building opposite if theirs. Two men walked out, tipping her head to the side Coal stared at them.

He smiled brightly at the hyper girl who was now staring at them, "I think that will do." He laughed and gave a small wave.

Ella looked over she shoulder as two men walked down the stairs at a lightening pace. She caught Coal's attention with a nod, and raised her eyebrows in a questioning way.

"Eighty dollars should be enough for ice cream," Steve said, not wasting time, walking up to the two girls. "Me and my friend," he motioned to Scott, "couldn't help overhearing you guys were going to get ice cream, would you like to join us?"

"Yes!" She held her hands to her chest and jumped up in joy. "Wait." She stopped and stared at him, a strange feeling she had seen him from somewhere. "Who's strong and brave here to save the American way..." She said, blinking she stepped back. "Sorry you remind me of Captain America." She laughed, why would he be here. So there was no way it was him.

He blinked at the hyper girl started to sing an old about Cap, "I'm Scott. Who are you guys?"

She looked down at her shoes awkwardly, "I-I'm Ella..." her voice was barely above a whisper. Instead of focusing on the people around her, she zoned out, and focused on the conversation of two squirrels fighting over who had claim on the walnut tree.

"I'd hope I would remind you of who I am," he smiled brightly at the girl, "did I catch you name?"
