analiese felt luke pull her closer to him, not minding one bit about how her tears were soaking his light blue shirt. her body slightly shook with each sob that was muffled by luke's shirt. liesel felt completely vulnerable, but didn't seem to care at that moment. more tears fell as luke rubbed her back comfortingly, trying to calm her down. she couldn't understand how luke could still be almost the exact same person even after she'd been gone for three years. she felt lost in london. she felt lonely, and sad, and everything in-between. she didn't have her bestest friend there with her at the time, and she shut herself down, not letting people in to her life. liesel forgot how to function most of the time, just laying there on her bed in the small flat her mother had bought them. she felt completely lonely and wished that her life never existed. but somehow, she got by living, just barely.

when luke asked liesel what's wrong. she only sobbed a little more, feeling guilty that she had left him for three whole years, with no communication between them. she felt everything she kept locked up, come out, hitting her in the face and showing her what she'd done. luke had called her by one of the special nicknames he had given her, liking to use it instead of liesel, what everyone else called her. her voice cracked when she spoke, her crying was now finished she small hiccups and whimpers came out as she talked. "i left you a-a-alone f-f-for s-s-so long. how c-c-could you f-f-forgive me?" she stuttered out, her face still in his shirt, and her voice cracking.

Luke let out a long exhale as her voice started to crack and hiccup. She told him what was the matter and he couldn't help but be a little relieved that it wasn't anything too serious. Not that he didn't know it was serious to Analiese herself, though he was expecting something horrible. Her face was buried in his chest as he started to speak gently. "Aw, Liese." He crouched down and looked into her eyes with his bright blue ones, one hand on each of her cheeks, thumbs wiping her tears off. Luke couldn't stop the tiny half-smile forming. "Is that what you're so worried about? I could never not forgive you. Sure, you left, but now you're back. Isn't that the important part?" he told her softly.

"You're always automatically forgiven. Though really, there's nothing to forgive for.. alright? Nothing's your fault." Luke was a little uneasy with his words in his mind, he wasn't always very good with comfort and something always ended up coming out wrong or different than he had intended. "It's almost impossible to be upset with you."
