|Nicole Juliet Parker| 17| Night-Mare|"Just because you can't see the scars doesn't mean they aren't there. Just because you cant touch the scars doesn't mean they don't hurt." My eyes fluttered open, blinking away sleep. "What time is it?" I muttered to myself, stifling a yawn. I groped around the area I had slept on until my hand made contact with something smooth and metal. I pulled the watch towards me, squinting in the early morning light. I could just see the tiny silver hands pointing to 4:15 A.M. "Too early." I grumbled, yawning. I hate waking up early, hate it with a vengeance. I hate it about as much as I hate dreamers and that's saying something. Another thing I hate is wasting time. The time I spent lying on the hard forest floor could be better put to use training or hunting dreamers. A stick poked into my back uncomfortably, reinforcing my decision to get up. I pushed myself to my feet, running a hand through my hair, combing out the leaves and twigs that had become lodged in it overnight. I stretched quickly and then took off running, my long brown hair whipping in the wind. I closed my eyes and ran, enjoying the feeling of the wind, it's fingers caressing my face as my legs extended. The pure power of running was elating, exiting. It was strength I could harness, strength I could control. Nothing but the birds were out at this hour and I reveled in the quiet. "No dreamers here."I thought to myself. "No dreamers messing up the quiet or the Extra Link with their adventuring and shouting." A smile cautiously flitted onto my lips. "And soon there will be none forever." That thought made me happy and I laughed. My strides didn't slow as I crested the top of a hill, surveying my surroundings. Down below, a long way down, I could make out what looked to be a small city or village. Near it was a hill with a single, solitary tree on it. I gazed at the place with interest, having never seen it before. My eyes scanned the valley again and I froze, my body reacting from years of training. I swear I just saw something move. My hazel eyes darted left and right, the only part of my body unfrozen. I tried to pinpoint where the movement was coming from, alert and on guard. I hoped what ever it was down below hadn't seen me but I couldn't be sure.
