cats in attendance; agavestar, kissingangel, noyercrack, mona lisa, partrigdehover, talonflame
agavestar tom - 59 moons (pharaoh) - tags; harespring (caveclan) & foxglove, chaosclan
shorthair oriental gray mackerel tabby w/ red eyes.
the grey oriental cat noticed the way that the other two cats spoke so highly of being mentors, and couldn't help but think back a bit to his own mentor, the clan's late deputy sandpatch. the tom had been family in every way except blood, being considered a brother to his father, which was the only reason he had been allowed to mentor the future leader instead of following their clan's normal traditions. he then thought about all of his siblings, and how the younger ones had been mentored by the older ones; perhaps one day he would have the opportunity to mentor a niece or nephew, as that was one of the old laws that he did plan to keep in place. "i do hope to someday have an apprentice of my own, although in our clan we do things a bit differently. our royal family is a lineage; only members of the family can mentor each others young as they are born. as the clan's future pharaoh, i watched my sisters mentor our younger siblings, but i never had the opportunity, as my father was busy preparing me to take his place when he passed on. i am hopeful that the next time one of my sisters has kits, i will be able to mentor one of them." he knew, especially after hearing the mollies added words, that most clans expected their leadership to have mentored at least one young before taking a high ranking position, and he understood that value, which is why he intended to take an apprentice, something that previous pharaohs hardly ever did unless they had no kits of their own and planned to groom one to be the future leader of the clan. "i will admit that i am a bit awkward around kits; my entire life was planned out for me, so it was always about training or studying. i do hope my mate and i will be good parents ourselves though, when the time comes. do either of you have kits?"
kissingangel tom - 56 moons (hunter) - tags; sootblotch (squidclan)
mediumhair black & white w/ blue-gold heterochromia.
the black and white tom couldn't help but laugh at the other cat's question, finding it quite a common thing that many asked when hearing about their clan. he gave a brilliant smile as he answered, shaking out his own fluffy fur in response as well. "it definitely has its struggles. you see, those of us with medium or long fur have to be careful not to over-exert ourselves or we can suffer from heat stroke. but our fur comes in handy during the nights, for as hot as it is during the day, the nighttime is absolutely freezing cold. most of the shorter haired cats curl up against us at night for warmth." the tom then listened as the other cat told him all about his clan and where he was originally from; a two-leg dwelling place, but as a street-cat. "wow, that sounds like a rather difficult transition. how is your clan fairing after losing so much from the hurricane? i myself wasn't born in scarabclan either, like you. i was actually born to a molly who abandoned me in the woods, but luckily it was in the territory of a clan called the cove, who took me in. my adopted family were lovely, but i was still a kit when two-legs found us and killed many of our clan with their dogs. luckily, another cat managed to grab me and we escaped. we wandered for a bit before finding another clan, the cold watch syndicate, which is where i met the friend i was telling you about. but unfortunately, tough times came and that clan disbanded as well. i had heard rumors about one of my adopted siblings having survived everything, and so i went out on my own to fine cremecurl in scarabclan. i've been there ever since."
noyercrack tom - 51 moons (hunter) - tags; mona lisa / kestrelheart (outback runners)
shorthair ginger mackerel tabby w/ green eyes.
the orange tom actually felt his ears perk up and his eyes widen hearing that this other cat had a territory that included crocodiles. normally, when they told anyone about these creatures, they were asked to describe them, as most cats didn't reside in such a place as to allow for such creatures to be present. immediately, his grumpy nature seemed to diminish, and he found himself actually interested in speaking to the molly that had befriended his mate, finding that they had some similarities. "mona lisa actually has an apprentice right now, a young molly named featheredpaw. luckily for my mate, featheredpaw is a very soft-spoken and sweet molly, who doesn't really go out of her way to do anything dangerous; i can't say the same for her littermates though. so mona lisa hasn't had to really corral her away from the crocodiles, if anything she has to be pushed to go up to the rivers after being promised its a safe moment."
mona lisa molly - 51 moons (hunter) - tags; noyercrack / kestrelheart (outback runners)
mediumhair tortie w/ muted crimson eyes.
the fluffy tortoiseshell molly listened with fascination as this other cat spoke about her clan, which was far more similar than many of the other clans she had experienced, and yet still had its differences. she felt the way her mates body relaxed at her side right before he began speaking more freely, and couldn't help the smile that came to her face, a short laugh leaving her mouth at the memories of her shy apprentice being afraid of so many things. "oh we completely understand. it was a very long journey for our clan to get here as well; we may not be able to make the trip for much too longer ourselves, being that we're both around 50 moons old now. however, we actually have a third mate, a part of our triad, whose in a different clan from us, so we try to attend these gatherings in hopes of seeing him. unfortunately, his clan didn't appear to make the journey this moon. but we still enjoy making new friends, such as yourself, to talk to." her smile was bright, not wanting the other molly to be discouraged by her words.
partridgehover molly - 15 moons (hunter) - tags; grapevine (truffleclan)
mediumhair black-silver mackerel torbie w/ pickle-green eyes.
the soft-spoken molly watched the other tom with her bright green eyes glinting playfully, looking down at their touching paws and being incredibly happy that he didn't pull his paw away from her touch. she listened intently as he spoke, her ears perked up and eyes wide as he spoke of swimming. "oh, yes crocodiles are incredibly dangerous. they are massive lizards, about the size of eight to ten cats long. they have hundreds of teeth in their mouths, and while they prefer larger prey like goats, they won't hesitate to attack a cat. their mouths are so large they could swallow one of us whole. they live in the water most of the time, and there are dozens of them in the rivers. its far too dangerous to remove them from our territory; it would take an entire clan trying to get rid of them, and even then we may still lose everyone. so we simply have patrols where when we get water, there are always cats watching out for the crocodiles. i-i would love to try to swim in your clan's pond; i've never done that before so you would have to teach me." she looked up at him with shy eyes as she slightly flirted; something she wasn't used to. "do you mind if i ask you about your family at all? i'll tell you about mine as well, of course. my parents were loners when my mother became pregnant with me, and my father was killed by a predator. my grandfather helped my mother raise us when we were born in the clan, my three littermates and i. my mother was always incredibly protective over us due to the loss of our father, which was quite annoying when i was young. unfortunately, there was some major conflict in the clan recently, and my mother, grandfather, and two of my littermates were killed. so now its just myself and my brother jadeglint left; we've grown very close in light of these events."
talonflame tom - 60 moons (fighter) - tags; coffeesplash (cavernclan)
a amber spotted shorthair with green eyes, white paws, & minor scarring.
the scarred tabby tom was not well known for smiling, but he attempted a small smile that looked more like an uncomfortable grimace of sorts as he sat beside the pretty molly. he couldn't help rolling his neck a bit, the scars that resided on the base of his neck always giving him trouble after a long amount of work or walking, before fixing his green eyes on the molly again as she spoke. "well then, its nice to be able to meet you so early on in your clan's gathering experiences, dear coffeesplash." as he was always able to, the tom turned on the charm with a tad bit of flirting, without going overboard or rubbing her the wrong way. "i've never heard of cavernclan, would you mind telling me about it a bit? and of course, i'll share with you about scarabclan as well. we reside in the middle of a desert, so our connections to other clans are very limited, aside from these gatherings, for which we have to travel far and long to attend. but our pharaoh - which is our leader - has always wanted us to attend when we can to socialize and gain connections to others whose way of life may be different from ours."
