Divine followed her guides-Bruce, Florian, and Damien. Ara, her ami, was by her side. "I feel guilty for scaring the poor girl like that. I really thought my life was threatened... I guess I'm just really paranoid. Morado along with several other surnames really freak me out." the twilight child said, intertwining her hands together in front of her. Her wings fluttered slightly as she walked. A frog landed on a rock closeby and let out a loud croak. This made Divine jump and her antannae completely straighten out on end. "Ah!" she exclaimed. "Oh. Just a frog. Heh..."
Eventually they reached just what Damien had described to her-a huge mass of vines. She went up to a spot right next to the mail slot and knocked, unsure if there was a door. "Bonjour!" she said in a friendly voice.

Paradise's head flicked side to side as the pen she was holding shot straight across the page of her diary she was writing. She slammed shut the book with the floral-print cover. "Diary, are the plants speaking French now?" Then she paused and gently smacked her forehead. "Duh. Not the plants. Or Alex. I'm okay..." She treated over her carpet of vines, diary tightly clunched in her hands, wings held spread taut from her shoulders. "Who's there?" she called, bending down to look through the mail slot. Then she yelped loudly, her gems flashed, and several vines on the outside of the house fell down, withering into shriveled brown husks before hitting the ground.
"Nobody's home!" she yelled kind of loudly, her heart beating out of her chest. "Nobody home but the plants!"
A tiny flytrap sprang up near her tail, but it immediately shriveled and died when its leafy little jaws swayed too close to her tail.

"Ara?" Paradise called after a few minutes' tense silence. "If there's no need to worry, why are there Xianthus guards outside?" her voice cracked at the word "Xianthus." "I'm fine in here with Diary and the plants where I won't be m....muh...hurt! Perfectly. Fine." She gave her diary's floral covering a gentle stroke and edged away from the mail slot, waiting for her assassins to start breaking in any second.

Paradise's ear flicked as she heard Ara's soothing words. None of them wanted to hurt her? Seemed too good to be true...but Ara had seemed okay back at the cafe.
The vines around the door all withered and died, and the door itself swung open, pushing aside the dead flora. The frightened green jewel controlling the vines slowly exited the house, tightly clutching her diary like a security blanket. She tried to ignore the guards, focusing mostly on Ara.
"I'm out of the house," she rasped, jewels flickering with green light. "Now what? You sure I'm not gonna die? You sure they aren't here for revenge?" She not-so-subtly gestured at the Xianthus dragons nearby, looking panicky.

Divine waved at Paradise. "No, we aren't going to hurt you. I swear." she said, forcing a fake smile. To be truthful, she was rather scared of Paradise. What if she felt like avenging her older brother and lashing out with a venus flytrap? She cringed away from a dying vine, the brown husk shriveling up. It looked like it was a snake, quickly changing from green to brown.
"I'm sorry I freaked you out earlier... I, well, I'm just a little paranoid. Especially when I find out there's a Morado around. Since, you know..." she paused, implying the dark history that had went down in between their families. She cringed again, and held back a couple tears successfully. Don't start crying, don't make this a dramatic scene from a movie... the twilight child told herself with scorn. You always cry in situations like this.

Paradise spoke in a suddenly ice-cold voice. "I'm not a Morado. Never have been, never will be. I was young, but I remember Alex didn't like being a Morado either." She turned to put a paw on a shriveling vine, and it withered further. "Life wouldn't be worth living if I went back to my father. He didn't love me, and he had no pity for his rivals. If they hit him, he hit back. I have to live with what he did for Alex. But it wasn't even out of love. It was only because his only heir was gone. I was a horrible heiress. And I wasn't even a purple jewel like he wanted." Paradise hung her head, teeth bared in a slight snarl as she vented pent-up emotions. "I'm not a Morado."
