She came back with a medium silver bowl filled with pellets of dog food. Setting it down, she smiled and padded to her bet. "Boy is it noisy out there." She muttered after a large crash of lightning.

"Okay then." He sighed and drifted into sleep.

The next clap of thunder echoed in her ears, making her small body jump a bit. She let out a long sigh and slowly laid her head down onto her paws, hoping her owners didn't notice she was missing yet. Then her gaze caught Courtney as she entered again, dragging a food bowl with her. She licked her lips, not really hungry, but food was always great to her. Anytime, anywhere.
"It sure is..." she responded, clearly more focused on the food now.

Rocky watched as the smaller canine drifted to sleep, curled in a little ball. He lay there, listening to the clap of thunder outside for a little longer before his eyelids too began to droop. Before long, he was drifting off to sleep at the sound of the down pour of rain.

Courtney--

"Well. I have the food dish of youth! You shall eat from it and gain, uh... eternal youth?" She said jokingly, and set the bowl down near Madison. "Is it okay if I call you Maddy?" She asked.

Shawn--

He found himself in a dream. It wasn't raining, but he could hear rain and thunder. He was chasing cats, chasing cars, and waiting for his owner to come home...? He licked his chest and found a thin green collar wrapped around his fur. "Oh no..." He whispered. He ran, he didn't know where, he just ran.

"Ooo, see you must be special," she giggled, "My owners don't give me magic food," she continued on the joke. Reaching her neck forward she sniffed at the food and took a couple of the pellets for herself. "Sure, I prefer the nickname Maddie over my full name anyway," she responded after swallowing the pellets of food.


|| Rocky||
Rocky was just drifting into a dream, the usual, casual dream of him chasing a cat through the alleyways. Wasn't too normal because this dream was taking place in his old territory, the city. He slowed to a trot in the dream as soon as he realized he hadn't been to this place since he was a pup. The roar of the thunder in real life snapped him out of the dream and he slowly opened his eyes to see Shawn kicking in his sleep as though the little guy was running. He smirked and slowly raised his head, watching with curiosity.

"What do they feed you?" She asked. "You can call me Court or Courty."

He woke with a jolt and saw Rocky looking at him. "Uh.. hi." he said awkwardly..

"Eh. You know," she shrugged, talking some more pellets, "The usual, it's kinda like a healthy formula mix because I was gaining weight," she added between chews. She paused for a moment after swallowing to listen to the pouring rain before focusing her attention on her new friend again. "Alright!" She replied excitedly, wagging her curled tail.

Rocky smirked and began to chuckle a little, "Spiders crawl into your fur or something?" He asked, sitting up and itching behind his ear as though he felt like there was a spider in his fur. "You were kicking hay all over the place," he finished, lowering his leg and letting loose an exhausted yawn just as another roar of thunder ripped through outside.

"So, it looks like this storm is going to last, why don't we play fetch in the tennis court?" She asked, also standing up.

"Oh, um, no. Bad dream." He said, looking wistfully at the torn walls of the structure.

She quickly gazed around to catch a glimpse of the nearest window, watching the rain pour against the clear surface. Then stood up excitedly, eyes bright, "Sure! Sounds like fun," she yipped, quickly taking another pellet while she waited for Courtney to lead the way.

Rocky nodded slowly, "Oh... yeah man, those come and go," he sighed, slowly laying back down and rolling over onto his side. "They don't mean much though... I wouldn't worry about it," he stated quietly as he thought about the many nightmares he had witnessed in his own mind.
