Mother nature is cruel. She makes life hard for all her children, including the wolf. Life for the wolf is a struggle to survive where death is always close by. But through harsh winters, blistering summers, floods, droughts, lack of resources, and humans the wolves prevail to carry on the next generation. So what will it be? Will you choose the life of the wolf?

► general. As always please abide by Tess' rules, don't god mod or power pl-
ay. Reservations will last four days, time starts the minute you post your re-
servation. If you do not get your character form up within that period of ti-
me I will open up the rank you requested again. Be respectful to your follo-
w roleplayers. If an argument breaks out take it to the mods. If you post u-
nfinished character forms I expect you to finish them eventually. If I chang-
e or add new rules they will be highlighted in red for one day.

► posting. I'd like everyone to post with at least four lines of text per chara-
cter but more is always appreciated. Don't worry about spelling and gramma-
r but don't throw those out the window completely. Just do your best is all I-
ask, everyone makes mistakes. Do not go into lots of detail when roleplayi-
ng fighting, mating, or birthing scenes. Fade to black.

► characters. Lgbtq+ characters are accepted here. Don't make your chara-
cters have romantic relationships with each other. Your character's can be-
born wild or they can be re-released from captivity, however I don't want-
any wolfdogs, coyotes, ect. You may make your own character forms so lo-
ng as they include all the important things. Please post all OOC talk and c-
haracter forms on the discussion thread. Do not kill or seriously injure a p-
erson's character without the owner's permission. Only three characters pe-
r person. The youngest you can join is 11 months, young wolves must be-
juveniles until the reach one year.

► challenging. Your character can challenge another character for a high-
er rank. If your character wins they get their desired rank, the loosing ch-
aracter gets bumped down to the rank below what they used to be. Plea-
se discuss before hand who wins and who looses to minimize OOC fightin-
g. Remember, hate the character not the player. If you're an omega you-
can't just challenge the alpha right away, you have to challenge your w-
ay up the latter(except juveniles).

𝙒𝙀𝘼𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙍 ► the weather is sunny, partly cloudy
but chilly. Food is still scarce however gradually it
will become easier to find and hunt bigger prey.

𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙎𝙊𝙉 ► it is late winter. The temperatures
are still cold but slowly warming up. Many animals
are beginning to move to warmer places. It is also
a time when challenging with in the pack increases.
Everyone wants to pass on their genes to the next
generation. Snow still covers the ground, but there
are open patches of ground scattered about.

𝙍𝙀𝙂𝙄𝙊𝙉 ► the pack resides in the timber region, in
between the arctic region to the north and the plains
region to the south. A large river runs though this land,
with a small waterfall. Both carnivorous and deciduous
trees can be found here.

As a side note I want everyone to know that there is going to be character deaths at some point, so be prepared. There is always the threat of over hunting and humans. Campers for the most part are harmless though if the wolves scare them away they have the potential to get hunters in the area. Farmers keep close to their cows and carry guns with them. Farmers are sort of like the middle ground, they only attack if you get too close to their cows. Hunters are the most dangerous. They can be on foot armed with guns or in the sky riding in helicopters and bush planes making them able to shoot at wolves from the air. Hunters also set random traps on the ground.

Over hunting happens when the wolf pack successfully hunts and kills too many healthy prey. When this happens all the prey animals leave the area and don't return. More hunters come into the territory. At this point the pack makes the decision to stay in their territory or to migrate to find a place with more prey animals and less humans.

The pack travel as a group. They stick together when scouting the territory and hunting. Their dens are located in the middle of their territory and are used for pregnant wolves to rest and give birth in to keep them safe. The wolves don't use them to sleep in, instead the wolves gather around the dens and sleep outside on the ground or under near by trees.

There are three other packs in there area, but since there’s enough land to go around they don’t pose as a threat to this pack, known as the lightfall pack. There are times each pack encounters the other but it doesn’t end in a battle. Usually one pack chases the other away as a warning that they were too close to their territory.

The morning was quiet as Sere began to wake up, the crisp air nipping his nose and the tips of his ears. Orange eyes opened slowly. He focused his vision and soon saw the rest of the pack gathered around the dens, still sleeping. Quietly Sere rose to his feet and shook out the cold from his hide before stepping around the sleeping wolves with care not to wake them. The edge of the river was not far from their den area, and so Sere padded there like he did most mornings. He lapped up some cold water and listened to the surroundings, smelling the air. It was quiet, only a few birds beginning to chirp. It smelt like forest, no danger or prey near by. The alpha took in a deep breath, and sat at the rivers edge waiting for the rest of the pack to wake up. As soon as they were awake and ready Sere would lead them though their territory in search of their first meal of the day.

a chilly, crisp breeze wafted across his nares, and everrett slowly blinked his eyes open. a pest buzzed around his head, contemplating landing upon everrett's rounded ears before he flicked them around to shoo it away. while still laid on his side, the brute stretched his legs with a quiet grunt, proceeding to rise to his wide paws. the sun hadn't quite woke, and a slight chill overcame everrett when he stepped away from his den. he stretched his body once more, huffing the wind for the whereabouts of hia alpha and friend, sere. sshould have known, everrett thought to himself. though it was a short walk to the river, he passed along peacefully, eyeing the horizon for a protein-packed morsel. his favorite was hare, however, he ultimately would eat most anything; it's not uncommon for him to unearth grubs, worms, and other insects when in a pinch. a faint scent caught his attention, and everrett's nose wriggled back and forth as he analyzed the wind. it didnt take him long before he continued toward the river, the scent was too far off to be worthwhile.

he approached sere slowly, stepping carefully and quietly with a natural stealth. "sleep well, sere," everrett questioned before lowering his cranium to gather a quick drink. his thickly-furred tail went limp when he sat, then turning his head to face sere. "whats the game plan for today, do we have any special events to look forward to?" everrett spoke in a low, somewhat soothing tone, the day too young for boisterous talk.

Mornings had always been a strange time for Alita, no matter how long she'd spent as a pack wolf she'd still hadn't gotten used to not waking up smelling her family. So for the first few moments like clockwork, no matter if she had nightmares or not she'd spend them in a slight panic head snapping from place to place, breathing harshly. Thankfully she'd always be ripped away from the past rather quickly, and calm down before she had a chance to wake anyone and cause them to ask questions. This morning was no different, though this time the panic lasted only a few heart-beats. Thank the stars and the moon, it's not as bad this time. She thought as the faded black female quietly got to her paws.
Slowly stepping outside, she lazily blinked a few times, getting her eyes used to the harsh sunlight once more. Once fully out of the den she padded over to her usual area to sit in and started to stretch her body, hoping to wake it up a bit more. As she did so, the lupine looked around, noting that both Sere and Everrett were both awake and currently by the river. The female in question thought about joining them but decided against it.

Blinking sleepily as he awoke Ivan let out a squeaky yawn, wincing as he did so. Ivan had decided a few days ago that he hated this stage of life, mostly fully grown but still not considered an adult. What's worse his voice had the tendency to break at the worst of times. He glanced around the den, taking note who was up and about, before frowning. Alita had always freaked him out for some reason. She'd been in the pack long than he'd been alive, but she still was a bit unnerving for the young brute. An omega had once told him how she came to the pack, which had weirded him out. But it was the fact that she was probably the queen on stalking up on people freaked him out, so he took care not to talk about her much, or at all really.
Shaking his head, Ivan got up and padded out of the den, silently cursing his small size. Huffing as his belly growled, the golden-brown-hued male trotted over to the river, a few feet from the alpha and beta. He leaned down to get a drink of water, hoping to quench his thirst and calm his roaring belly with a bit of water. At least until the pack went hunting, he'd hopefully be able to sneak a small rodent, like a squirrel or a maybe a vole before the pack took down something bigger.

As Sere sat watching the sun rise, finally bringing light to once a grim looking forest the male's ears caught the sound of someone speaking. He turned his head towards it and found Everette coming towards him. Sere gave him a friendly nod "Oh course, nothing better then sleeping outside." he said with a small smile. Unlike most, who chose to sleep in a den, Sere liked sleeping outside. It was something he was taught to do when he was pup. "The usual, hunting." The male answered, the smile disappearing, "If we manage to find some large prey this time of year it'll be an event worth celebrating." He was hoping to find a deer at least, not for him but for everyone else. Winter was always the harshest time of year. All the big prey animals left the area for warmer lands leaving only small prey. The male looked away from his friend towards the left of him. A few months ago while the snow was still deep and the temperature very cold he remembered smelling a human and leading everyone away from there. Keeping that to himself however Sere asked "Have you seen anyone else get up yet?"
