Long, long after humans became extinct, there has been one species rising in population across what used to be America; Canine. Even past the domesticated breeds, even coyotes and wolves, have learned to survive together. In the abandoned town now called Dawn Howl, one dog rules this town with their large, diverse pack. It's surrounded by mountains, keeping this group secluded. They constantly have guards going around the town to keep from intruders just waltzing in. Every canine there has to contribute to the pack somehow, whether is watching over pups, hunting, or caring for the sick. A harsh winter has now lead into a very hot summer. Will the pack be able to thrive in these conditions and more?


Roleplay Rules (don't break)


• Follow site rules, duh.
• This is a more relaxed roleplay, so there's no real minimum on posts as long as it's not constant one-liners.
• No pups without mothers unless they have someone who's been watching over them.
• This roleplay includes wolves, domestic dog breeds, coyotes, and any hybrid between those.
• For your forms, include the basic information (name, age, gender, rank, species/breed, personality, history). I also will suggest each character to have a theme song and relationship chart to make things a bit more fun :)
• Post character forms and any kind of discussion on the discussion thread.
• Max of 4 characters per user.
• Keep signatures disabled on the roleplay thread.
• After five days of inactivity from a user, I'll be messaging you for an activity check.

  Dawn Howl Rules (breakable)
• Respect the royal family and any orders given by them.
• Everyone must start contributing to the pack once they are of age. (6 months)
• Breeding without the permission of any royal will lead to the banishment of the mother, father (if known), and her pups. You can still have a mate without gaining permission from the royals, however, as long as you don't have pups.
• On a full moon, everyone must gather at the Rig and sleep there for the night. (excluding the medics and sick/nursing at the Medicine Hallow) The pack will have a discussion of the following weeks and any future plans, along with announcements. (Announcements include new mates permitted to breed, new hunters/pups/trainees, ect)

The King and Queen are the Alpha mates of the pack that run the pack, give permission for breeding, and oversee any emergencies. The Heir is usually the child of the King and Queen that is to be the next king/queen, but sometimes the king/queen chooses a pup to take over for them if they don't have their own pups. They start their training for hunting and fighting at 6 months old, then become the second-in-command at 2 years old, then they take over as the King/Queen when they are 4 years old or in thje case that the current royals are dead.

Medics take care of the sick and nursing canine of the pack. They stay in the Medicine Hollow, they also sometimes join on guard patrols into the forest to retrieve herbs and any needed materials. The Senior Medic has been a Medic the longest and is usually the one to train the next Trainee Medic. [3/3]

Guardians are elite warriors that protect the pack. To become a Guardian, you are picked out by the royals (usually as an older trainee), and the must fight another Guardian (usually the senior) to show your skills. These fights discourage any bloodshed or injuries. Win or lose, it will then be decided by the Royals if they have what it takes to be a Guardian. Their jobs are to patrol around town during the day and night, and two to three of them have to watch over the Tall Dens and Tricastle during the night. The Senior Guardian has been a Guardian the longest and resumes the duties of organizing guard shifts and ordering the other guardians. They also act as second-in-command to the Royals until the Heir is of age. [5/5] (I will up the limit if needed)

Pup-mothers have been given permission to breed and have Pups. They are either nursing or pregnant. Once their pups are 2 months old, they must return to their regular duties for omegas to watch the older pups. Their pups will remain there until they are then 6 months, becoming a Trainee. [1/2]

Dawn Howl is surrounded by small mountains with a little dip in height allowing safe travels to a small swampy area to the east. Over the mountains to the south is arid lands, making Dawn Howl a safe haven.

In the town of Dawn Howl, there's many buildings that the canine use to their full potential, mainly for housing or communal pack areas.


Housing

Tall Den is an abandoned motel downtown where most of the canine live, aside from families that choose to take a house by themselves. Availability: unlimited
Across the street from the Tall Den is the Tricastle where the royals and their family reside. The middle building is for the King and Queen, the other two on the side for any direct kin. (siblings/pups/parents). Availability: Royal Family Only
Other than the Tall Dens, there are plenty of abandoned houses for the canine to live in, or they don't have one set den and sleep where ever for the night.


Other Buildings

There's an abandoned factory which is often used for training pups before they get out into the forests for hunting.
The Medicine Hallow is a large building used for taking care of sick, or nursing canine. The medics also live here with their trainees.
The Rig is an old one-room theatre, used for gatherings or meetings. It's located downtown, close to the Tall Den and Tricastle.
Right outside the town in the forest is the meeting area for hunting patrols.
