The unbearable heat of the sun shined down on Sabor as he ran a small patrol around the main tree, letting out small grunts and roars as he went. These roars and grunts warning off any predators or rivals who may be lurking nearby. Lifting his snout to the sky he inhaled deeply taking in all the scents around him. "All clear, for now." he thought to himself. Finishing up his patrol Sabor made his way back to his spot under the main tree. The terrain around this spot was worn and tattered leaving a visible indent in the earth. This spot had been a favorite of his since his first day as the leader. Panning his eyes around him once more checking for danger, he finally relaxed. Laying his body in the independent earth letting out a long sigh followed by a large yawn.

Focused and ready for anything, the vast savannah mirrored in the young lionesses' eyes as she scouted her pride's land. Crow laid closer to the ground to hide her light coat from predators she smelled on the wind. "I know they are here... but where?" she spoke softly. "Hyenas... a very particular smell." the thought of those scavengers entered her mind. A particular pack of hyenas had been constantly pestering her pride as of late due to the surplus in antelope and other prey this season. With a fewer amount of predators caused by the "hairless ones", the herds were in surplus. With more surplus more competition, as a newly made lioness, Crow knew she had to prove her worth or she'd be chased off.

The tan and darker female twitched her nose, smelling...something. Well, whatever it was wasn’t bothering her. She sighed as she stretched out on her side again...She was getting bigger and bigger by the day. The cubs would be here quite soon, she just felt it; and their kicking. She sighed and shook her head a few times, purring in the sunlight.

The creamy male licked at his lighter colored belly, brown eyes blinking a moment. He wondered where his lionesses were, especially his white daughter, Crow. He loved that name, honestly, despite the contrast to her coat. Shaking himself, he hopped to his paws, deciding to go look. Along the way, he checked the borders and such, making sure no one was skulking...

the white female flicked her ears where she lay listening to the sounds around her hoping to hear or catch the scent of some prey. as she lay she leaned forward to clean her paws. she noticed that her leader had returned from a patrol presumably and was now laying in his spot meaning that no other predators would be around, and seeing as he had just returned she figured he might be hungry so she decided it may be best to hunt and she was eager to prove herself as a young lioness. sauntering up to sabor she bowed her head respectfully, "sabor i was wondering if you might be hungry and if i should perhaps try to go out and hunt for a small gazelle or antelope? besides with iriah's cubs coming soon i'm sure she will be hungry as well." she spoke to him softly motioning her head over to iriah who was stretched out in the sun.

The young dark colored lion was walking through the tall grasslands, his dark-colored mane brushing against the grass. He had been looking for his sister for the longest time since his father chased the two of them out since the pride was too big. He had lost his sister when he had to chase away a leopard, he had chased the leopard a few yards but when he returned his sister had disappeared. He didn't know where she went but her scent was covered up by a few lionesses scents. He couldn't follow it for one since it started to rain, the scents were gone and he couldn't find her. Now he was walking around the grasslands to find her, to find the lionesses that took her away from him. The large male soon took in a deep breath before he let out a soft roar while he started to shake his mane out. He hated that it is taking him four months of wandering around the grasslands to find his sister or even anyone that is around.

The young lioness started too lower her body to the ground before she finally found a nice cold spot. Her ears flatten again her head while she looked over at the brighter spot in the savannah, her eyes soon narrowed before she took in a deep breath, she soon let out a chuff before she laid down on her side, she was back at where the cubs were meant to be, she lets out little sounds before she let her head hit the ground. Her eyes soon closed while she thought about what is to come soon since she is old enough to have cubs. "Should have gone with the hunting party. It would have been better than this..." She grumbled under her breath.

Sabor listened intently to his lionesses hunting request. He panned around at the other lionesses around him making a special note towards Iriah. Nodding slightly he responded "That will do, take other lionesses with you. For the protection and an easy kill, you never know who might be lurking over the horizon." Sabor's deep voice vibrated the air around him. He sat up from his spot to face his lioness "I shall await your safe return." He gently licked her face to show respect and care. Proud of this young lioness before him for showing the initiative to protect her pride.

Crow returned to the pride after stalking the hyena's scent completely out of their territory. She approached Israh with a bow of respect. "Israh I have a report from the southern border. That pack of hyenas has surfaced again. I believe in more numbers, they may be getting too bold with the surplus of prey. I ask for guidance on what we should do?" She bowed again before sitting in front of him patiently awaiting a response.

essha purred as sabor licked her and bowed her head respectfully and nodded. "of course, i will go see if genelope is up for a hunt." she answered she then turned on her heels and her eyes panned the area for genelope, iriah most likely wasn't able to hunt or wouldn't want to and she knew that genelope liked to hunt so it seemed that would be a good option. her ears flickered back and forth until she spotted genelope trotting up to her. "hey! i was thinking to go on a hunt and sabor asked me to bring someone along, would you like to go with me? beats sitting around here." she said in a light humorous tone awaiting the other lioness' reponse.

Sabor let out a light chuckle at the young lioness's enthusiasm, before laying back down in his spot. Let out a long yawn he laid on his side, his mane providing comfort for his head from the hard ground. Looking at his other lionesses around him he drifted off into a peaceful slumber. Relaxing before his second patrol, he would need the energy if anything was to come up.

The creamy male purred in the sunlight, glad to see no males seemed to be lurking at the border...This, combined with now seeing Crow approaching, made him a bit happier. He dipped his head to his daughter for a moment, then raised it back up. ”Yes, they are too bold aren’t they? You should chase them off, I believe you’ll win. Take the other lionesses with you. Strength in numbers as they say,” he said.

"I followed the scent to the southern border, they have left for now but I am positive they will return. I will lead a patrol across the southern border to ensure they have left. I feel they may be getting stronger, there were new scents mingled among the familiar ones. I fear they may have merged with another pack." Crow spoke a hint of worry coated her voice. She raised her head to look around her surroundings before speaking again. "I will return with news of the patrol." Dipping her head in respect she moved on towards the other lionesses.

Sabor woke from his nap with a loud yawn. Taking a few looks around his surroundings before he made it to his feet. Leaving his spot he made his way over to the nearby expecting lioness. Sitting beside her he gave her a small lick on the head. "How are you feeling?" checking in on his lionesses is what made Sabor the respected and kind leader he wanted to be since cubhood.
