it was a act out of spite, of a misunderstanding. the king of the king of the kicheche pride was dead,
murdered by another lion. the truth was that he was murdered, because he wasn't of the royal blood
line, but with the bloodline of an outsider, lions that were looked down upon by the pride. and yet
one had been named their king. the murderer believed his father had been cheated out of his right-
ful place, and being the case he was as well. after the pride discovered the lifeless form of their ki
ng, the pride erupted into chaos. their new came then came in this time of trouble - also the very
one that had murdered their previous king. anyone who didn't pledge allegiance to him would be...
disposed of. the pride was torn. even thought their king was dead, something just didn't seem right
about this. especially, to the fallen king's mate. thus, the pride was divided. those who sided with
their new king and those who sided with the fallen king's mate. however, while the pride remains
together for the time being its only a matter of time before the last straw is pulled and everything
falls apart. the peace is barely being held, and its only a matter of time before it shatters.

the kicheche pride is set up a bit differently from the average pride. the pride has
set ranks for their members, but its nothing too special when compared to a regular
pride. the ranks are as follows;

the king ─ ruler of the pride, leads the pride. his word is law and should be respected.
the one next in line for this role, is the son of the king. if, the king doesn't have a son,
before he passes away the pride will turn to the fallen king's brothers, and one of their
son(s) will be chosen as the next king.

the queen ─ rules the pride alongside the king. not always the mate of the king, though
this is rare. mainly only when the father of their son has passed, and the son is young
she'll remain queen to help guide him, before stepping down when he's ready to lead on
his own or when he claims a mate of his own.

the heirs ─ the offspring of the king and queen. the male will be the next king.

the king's brothers ─ if, the king and queen have more than one son, one will be chosen
as the next king. the others will be known as the king's brothers who act as advisors.

the shaman ─ the healer of the pride, also the one who guides the pride when it comes
to religious matters. the one who contacts their ancestors, typically one of the wisest in
the pride.

huntresses ─ the hunters of the pride, exclusively female. however, this doesn't mean
that males can't hunt, they simply aren't given the hunter role.

guards ─ the protection of the pride, typically males.

subordinates ─ lions under the age of three years, learning to become full members of
the pride.

mothers and cubs ─ self-explanatory. mothers nursing or expecting cubs. cubs being
the offspring of the mothers.

outsiders ─ lions who don't have a pride or have been exiled from their previous one.
looked down upon by lions of the pride, typically hostile towards.

territory ─ the pride is settled in a vast savannah, with shrublands and wetlands
farther off. the pride is settled somewhere in the middle, with few trees and sparse
undergrowth.

prey ─ typically prey for the pride is; hares, birds, wild boars, antelops, *buffaloes,
+baby elephants, zebra, +giraffes, and many more. *is uncommon and +is rare

predators ─ thankfully, for them the pride has no predators, but do have threats,
especially toward cubs. such as hyenas, african wild dogs, birds of prey, cheetahs,
and leopards. these can simply be a threat concerning stealing prey or cubs.
humans though rare are the lions biggest threat.
