After the alpha male was seemingly killed in cold blood, a pack is left in chaos, over who broke the code a
nd committed murder, and also over who shall take rule. The late alpha's son is preferable as he is the rig
htful heir, the eldest of two pups. But that begs the question, had the son grown so power hungry that he
could kill his own father? Or perhaps it was the lone rogue, a newcomer to the area, or even the alpha's o
wn mate, the so-thought love of his life, who came from a rival pack on the other side of the forest. it is
a crisis, and few are above suspicion. But with no witnesses stepping forward, and no way to confirm ali
bis, only one thing is certain. It's going to be a very rocky season for the wolf pack of coldcreek.

1. please make sure to follow CS rules at all times. thank you! no overly graphic violence,
and always fade to black if things get inappropriate for younger members.
2. this roleplay will have a set ending time, if the murderer hasn't been revealed by then,
the roleplay is still over and things will be left ambiguous.
3. no power-playing/perfect characters. that never helps a roleplay feel fun.
4. drama is great! however, it can be overdone. i want this roleplay to be focused on
the plot, discovering who killed the late alpha male.
5. please reserve your roles through pm, and do not post on the discussion until i have
confirmed your role + character.
6. any sexuality is welcome, no discrimination here please, i'd rather not get into that.
however there are a few characters (the daughter, the best friend, the boyfriend, and the
healer) who have had straight relationships in the past/present so keep that in mind!
7. activity is important!! i know real life comes first, but if you commit to this roleplay,
please first determine that you will be able to post at least once a week. thanks!
8. literacy: i didn't post this in the semi-lit forum because i'm not looking for 500+ words,
but i would appreciate a decent paragraph. writers-block can be understandable!

These are the other wolves in the pack, which are none-player characters as it stands, and they will appear in the
roleplay on several occasions. You may want to know their names, as they are key to the plot. note: none
of them are the killer fyi just extra characters to add to the story.

Corbin: the late alpha male, murdered in cold blood by someone within the pack's ranks. (won't appear, he's dead.)

Mira: a scout in the ranks, she's an older, wiser member, and a good friend of the queen's.

Birch: he's merely a hunter, and no one pays much attention to him as he minds his own business.

Eden: an omega, very shy, timid, and scared. Joined the pack in hopes of protection from rogue wolves and loners,
she doesn't say much, but her wide, frightened eyes catch everything.


𝖕𝖆𝖈𝒌 𝖍𝖎𝖘𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖞:
for several generations, the pack of coldcreek lived in neutrality with the opposing other packs of wolves within the
same woods. war was not deemed necessary, for each group had respect, and kept to set territories. until a newer
pack rose suddenly, the pack of darkridge. they reside near a deep gulch known has death gorge, for many a wolf has
been lost there, whether hunting, or a simple misstep, it's a very dangerous place, that lies on the edge of the forest.
it's barren too, not much grows, hence less prey. the alpha of darkridge was a no-nonsense older male, with a good
sence to do what was required to help his pack grow, and to keep his daughters safe. his eldest child, heir to his rank,
happened to have an interaction with the only son of coldcreek's alpha. the two connected, finding something in each
other that was once lacking. of course their relations were looked down upon when discovered, but with much trial,
it led to a truce between the packs. darkridge is permitted to hunt on the very outskirts of the forest territory, and
the young daughter of darkridge? she fell in love with the adolescent male she sumbled upon all those years ago. his
name was corbin. they became mates, and she is a member of coldcreek now, the queen female in fact. her name is
faith. this 'truce' did not come completely without consequences, as many in coldcreek disproved of the agreement,
thinking darkridge had successfully taken advantage of them, and saw it as a sign of weakness for their pack.


𝖆𝖉𝖉𝖎𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖆𝖑 𝖎𝖓𝖋𝖔:
This is going to be a unique-ish roleplay, with set days, more information revealed along the way, and it will end
after a set time. If anyone has any thoughts, you are most welcome to pm me. Only two people will know who th
e killer is to begin with, which will be me, and the person who plays the killer. That means, one of the 10 charac
ters listed above committed murder and killed the alpha male. When the roleplay opens, you will be free to mes
sage me to reserve a character to play. should you happen to pick the killer, I will notify you in your pm. And no,
I will not be playing the killer. Once you reserve a character, you cannot change it. However, with some of the ot
her characters, I will reveal some other tidbits of information.

The roleplay will last for a duration of 10 days (rp time), and a day in the roleplay is 15-ish pages, depending on
how everything ends up going. Each day, something will happen that affects the pack and the case. There are ot
her characters living in the pack; the pack does not consist of only 8 wolves. However, they will only appear/be
mentioned as npcs.

I do realize roleplaying may be a tad trickier if you cannot have the freedom to reveal too much information to b
egin with. I recommend focus more on what the wolf is doing, body language, how they act toward other wolves,
instead of spending time writing what's going on inside their head. We don't want the killer to be revealed right o
off the bat. The idea is that every wolf has something to hide, which makes every one suspicious.

The goal of the roleplay is to (have fun, of course!) figure out who killed Corbin (the alpha male) and who will be
passed the mantle as the next alpha.

If the case isn't solved by the end of the roleplay, then the pack is left in chaos (or I'll just have to make p.2 c:)

Also! I should add, that if your character chooses to confide in some other wolf, or confess, or thinks about it,
you can definitely add that into your post. I know the killer will be uncovered eventually, so, don't worry too mu
ch. I just want to keep that element of mystery when we start off.

think of it as kinda a tackboard, for all the juicy tidbits of info.

motives:
the son: the late alpha’s firstborn, the rightful heir. he and his sister grew up very close.
perhaps he could have killed his own father in an attempt to bring along his time to rule sooner?
he’s always displayed an “innocent” eagerness to one day take care of the pack, maybe he grew
too impatient for his father’s natural death to come.

the daughter: the late alpha’s secondborn pup, she’s close to her brother and has feelings
for the boyfriend. she and her father seemed close, but was it an act? perhaps her next
target is her brother, if she’s the guilty one. she is in line for alpha, should her brother perish.

the mate: the late alpha’s love, she hails from a rival pack and their mateship caused quite
a rift in the pack years ago. since she initially hailed from darkridge, she could have been
plotting to strike a blow for her former pack all these years to take charge.

the best friend/beta: the alpha’s most trusted, the beta. they were also seen as very close
friends outwardly. he’s been very quiet since it happened. it seems unlikely that he’d turn on
his best friend, but then again, proving loyalty is a powerful tool in the end when one wishes
to rise to power, isn’t it?

the boyfriend: he’s the daughter’s love interest, a hunter in rank. they have been courting for
some time now. before the murder, he had been trying to get close to the alpha male. was this
an evil deed disguised? or was he simply trying to gain approval in the older male’s eyes as a
potential suitor for his daughter?

the healer: a quiet soul, she’s the one who “found” the body. being an herbalist, she frequents
the borders for healing herbs. she seems very tender-hearted and sensitive to other’s needs,
but perhaps underneath that kind attitude lies a dark spirit, after all, she found the body. what
better way to “prove” you’re innocent then to "uncover" the crime?

the huntress: the alpha’s top hunter, she leads the others to hunt and kill prey. the alpha trusted her,
a true warrior in physique and spirit. she doesn’t seem to have a clear motive. then again, nothing
seems to be clear anymore? She’s got quite the rough outer edge, and means business.

the rogue: a recent newcomer, the rogue was banished from his/her own pack and recently stumbled
here. the alpha out of his kindness permitted them to stay on territory to catch a breather and offered
protection for a short time until they went their own way. coincidence? or not?

“How...did this happen?” The queen’s voice was icy, yet calm... emotionless. She was in shock. The cold and lifeless body of her mate, Corbin, the alpha male, was resting on a patch of earthy moss that covered the otherwise barren ground of the forest floor. A glossy shine came over her eyes, and the healer couldn’t tell if it was grief, or fear, or something else. A frigid wing whistled through the already dying forest, an unfriendly reminder of the winter that soon would come. The weather didn't do much to help the eerie ambience.

“M-ma’am, this was no accident.”The healer stuttered out, her muzzle quivering. “He was killed...” She tore her gaze from the queen’s stoic expression, unable to gaze upon her alpha’s glazed eyes any longer.

Faith, the alpha female, stood silent, for what felt like an eternity. “Darkridge?” She asked softly, not tearing her gaze from the body.

The healer cautiously shook her head in response, when the rival pack from the other side of the forest was mentioned. “They wouldn’t dare.” She said confidently, hoping her voice sounded braver then she felt. “There’s been a truce for years...right m’lady?”

Faith sighed, nodding in response.“You‘re correct. My father would never stoop to this level...it must be someone within our own ranks. Where did you find him?”

The healer hesitated... “Near the border...the king was strong, it must have taken a clever wolf m’lady, they...they went for his...throat.” Her voice quavered, cracking under the pressure of the moment. She was left numb, unsure how to react.

The queen didn’t look surprised. What could that mean? “ Let’s go, healer.” She turned, leaving the body. “Please take the body and remove it from our territory. I don’t wish to attract scavengers.”

“Yes ma’am.”
