winter. a time of festivities and fun. a time where you can snuggle up with friends and family and shield yourself from the cold, not having to worry about the harsh conditions you've been able to avoid. for humans, this is all true. the forest-dwelling creatures have to endure these hard times, with no shelter to protect them from the hard downpour, and no artificial heat to hide from the frigid cold. some of the animals have figured out how to survive this weather by burrowing below the ground, hiding away until spring, when the frost has thawed and the snows have stopped. the garter snakes have all been preparing for this moment, and it is now finally the time. the snakes have left their dens to hibernate with their fellow serpents, and all that is left to do is gather food for the final harvest. even though this tradition has been around for years, rumors have surfaced about mysterious tunnels that will lead to a mystical land of sunshine and prey, a land of peace. most snakes agree that it's all just a fairy-tail made up by snakelets. a few curious snakes, however, are determined to find these tunnels. now, when the final rock seals in the bed of snakes, will you join the explorers; or will you stay behind and provide for your friends?

○please research garter snakes! i want this roleplay to be fairly realistic when it comes to the snake facts.
○when talking ooc, please use parenthesis, brackets, or some other form of indication.
○violence/gore is allowed, but please don't be too descriptive or over-the-top.
○any plot twists will be discussed on the discussion forum before they are implemented. do not randomly throw them in without approval.
○ask permission before mating/killing/fighting with other characters.
○please be active on the roleplay. i expect you to post at least three times a week. please pm me if for some reason you cannot be active one week.

territory
the snakes live in a large forest, or more specifically, inside a burrow on the forest floor. the inside resembles a large cave, despite being only a few feet wide. the tunnels, however, are very large. the snakes that believe the tunnels exist think that it leads to a beautiful forest, one with many rivers, wetlands, mountains, and plenty of prey. some snakes that are more independent live near the river. they usually burrow near either the tree hollows, or the riverbank. before the hibernation begins, the snakes gather food and hunt in the fields.
