I nickered as a squirrel darted past. I winced, knowing Cavalia must've heard.

Amara noticed him watching and raised her head. She neighed plantively to him.
Cavalia heard Ash and pinned his back a little and then pointed them forward. He took a few deep breaths and ignored the feelings of heartbreak and anger. Cavalia looked at Shady surprised. "They aren't my foals. I'm not old enough to be their father, but I'm like a father to them. My father was their father."

Comet lifted his head hearing Amara. He gave a nicker in reply to her and shook his mane keeping it from sticking to his neck from sweat.

I looked througgh the trees and saw Cavalia. I hung my head. "I'm sorry," I whispered before leaving.

Amara looked at the other two then reared up. She trotted over to Comet leaving the other two. Tamar watched her and rolled her eyes. Abigail sighed softly.
