◣xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx◢City stared at the paint for a moment, still very, very confused. Only bachelor stallion’s could keep alliances. Even then, those bonds were very fragile when mares came into the picture. A band stallion with few mares would surely never be able to sustain an alliance with a younger stallion. The bay let her eyes flicker over to the chestnut before letting her vision fall back on the paint. She was still very unsure of how to react to the situation. She had never been in a "shared" herd before. City swallowed and stood tall, even though she was still quite a bit shorter than the paint. She gave him a steady gaze before lightly bobbing her head, quietly thanking him for not forcing her to move. The mare spun around and started to walk, her black tail flicking behind her. She plodded along for a few paces before she realized that she didn't even know where the stallion even wanted her to go. "Well, my-stallion-that-I-still-do-not-know-the-name-of," She spoke without turning her head around to look at the paint. "Would you please direct me to where you will have me travel? Or shall I just wander until we find another stallion to join your alliance?" The mare's voice was very neutral, but City knew she was testing the stallion. The alliance was not at all a good idea in her mind, and she wanted to let them know. She had no clue how he would react. But the stallion had showed that he was determined to get her. Was he just as determined to keep her?

Mayhem listened to his words, feeling a bit bad. Bachelor bands were brutal. But that was life in the wild she supposed. Having bands stolen was inevitable. She knew that well. Then, Calcifer asked her about her own history. She hesitated, before realizing that she had no reason to. There was nothing to hide in her past. "Well, I grew up on a breeding ranch until I escaped with a few other horses. We managed to survive by some miracle for a while before the bachelors came. I, um..." She paused, swallowing hard. "Lost my sister that day." Another pause. "After that, I found a small band to live with for about a year. I lost them as well when the metal birds started rounding up horses. I've been alone since then... Until now." Mayhem glanced at Calcifer, quite surprised with herself. She had never told anybody her past; the mare had never trusted anybody that well. But for some odd reason, she trusted this stallion that she'd only just met. Mayhem stood still for a moment before speaking. "Oh, and don't worry about losing me to bachelors." She said. "I already told you, no one is making me go anywhere I don't want to go... And I'm pretty content where I'm at." The black mare gave Calcifer a small smile before lowering her head down to graze.

He wasn't leaving. Why wasn't he leaving? Calamity heard him speak, cutting her eyes over to him. Her mind grappled frantically for the words to say. Decisions, decisions. She waited for a long, drawn-out pause before she reacted. The grey mare picked up her head, a small boost of courage bubbling through her body. Calamity looked right into Kamina's eyes, head on, and spoke. "But what if I want you to leave?" She asked, her voice a quiet murmur. Feeling a tad bit braver, the mare picked up her head to nearly full height, which still wasn't that tall. "Like most other stallions, you probably came over here because you think I'm 'pretty'... but you're wrong. I'm not pretty or 'interesting'." She paused, her ears flicking back once more. "I'm broken." Calamity whispered the last two words, her voice shaking. Taking a step back from him, the mare slowly shook her head. "And I don't think you are the one who can fix me." Her whispers were full of uncertainty. This stallion was leaning towards the side of 'no'. She didn't know what else she could do. Calamity didn't know how well her words would tide over with the strange stallion, but she hoped he would understand. She was a fragile being, herself, and knew that a cocky bachelor would surely shatter her. One way... Or another.
