The alpha had walked in silence back to her camp. The Occulte pack was growing, but there were still too many empty dens. Aimée wandered into her own den, a large one made of rock. In the back was her bed, far too large for the small fae, and big enough to fit a large brute beside her. Not far from that was a small tunnel that led into the hillside. A pack member and created it as an escape route and had promised to make it bigger, but he was killed by a bear. The far had never ventured into the tunnel, as it reminded herself of the death of the wolf who made it. Today was the day though, today was when she would use the tunnel.
Though it was a narrow tunnel, she was a narrow wolf. If she crouched down ever so slightly, it saved herself from dirt fur. The tunnel was long and winding, though it gradually got bigger. That was curious, she thought, as the one who dug the tunnel wasn't quite big enough to make it so high. Aimée kept following the tunnel, now fairly large as it went around the bend. The fae sat down to rest, but jumped as her bottom hit a cold stone floor. How could that be? The tunnel was made of dirt and now suddenly of rock. Out of curiosity, the alpha let out a small howl. It bounced around and echoed in the quiet. The tunnel must have lead to this room. A natural cave in the hillside! She jumped to see how high the ceiling was, but felt no such thing. It was a tall room. Walking around the walls she was silent and listening. In one area she could hear water, very close to her. On another side she heard squirrels, and felt a way out. Sure enough, a dirt tunnel just as small as the first led her out. Following her own scents from previous days, Aimée wandered up a hill. She felt a path under her paws, her own path that she had traveled on frequently. It was then that Aimée knew where she was. She was sitting atop the hill that overlooked the camp over her den. A place she had come to sit on a few times. There was a spot of treeless forest here, where mostly ferns grew. The lack of trees allowed the moonlight to leak through, and Aimée loved coming out here to feel its soft touch.
Now knowing where she was, Aimée kept of the rock gracefully, her long fur suddenly being pushed back behind her as she landed lightly. She sat down, closing her eyes and feeling the sun on her face. A cool breeze ruffled through the camp. It was peaceful and quiet, but the alpha's thoughts were very much on fire. She needed someone to talk to.
