(Echo is lead mare :3)
Echo felt a gust of cold wind billow her side. Shivering slightly, she let out a nicker to the herd, indicating that they were moving. She nosed Infinity to stop nursing, and she scanned her surroundings briefly before deciding where to lead the herd. The scents of a few herds came from the direction of a forest, and there was a small sheltered forest nearby, so Echo trotted off. She didn't go fast, for she wanted to make sure that the herd was with her before she possibly increased her speed. She perked her ears as her hooves thumped along.
Infinity attempted to keep up with her mother. She was cold, so she pressed her side against er mother's rump. The Tobiano tries to lengthen her stride to keep up. She wondered why they were moving. The filly glanced over her shoulder and looke at the other filly. She let out an excited nicker to the other foal.
Frost ripped up patches of semi-dead grass. He then looked at Hope, before giving her a nudge. Since she was lead mare, she would have to lead the herd to a safe area to stay, and it was becoming colder each day. He let out a huff, before nosing her belly gently, knowing that she would foal probably mid to late summer. He glanced at Ricochet, knowing that he would cover once she came into heat in Spring.
Winter grazed beside Spirit. She closed her eyes to rest, for she was bone tired, and needed to save her energy. She shook out her mane, ears perked at her stallion, as they curved inward. She rested her head on his back, closing her eyes once more.
Sun never detached her side from Gold's. Her winter coat was beginning to grow in, but her golden coat still shimmered, even in the pale, weak sun. She grazed most of the time, a actually beginning to gain a little weight from the foliage. Although her lean structure seemed frail, Sun was nicely lined with strong, hard muscles beneath her coat. Fortunately, her elegant, yet strong frame, would produce strong, healthy foals.
