- Where would eliminating the other pack take them? Eventually Kotori thought about that, about when and how this war actually began and where it would take them and more than once he came to the conclusion that absolutely nothing other than possibly hurt ego explained that blood bath. His ears twitched once more as he lifted his head, staring off into the distance as a howl reached him. For a moment he considered answering, perhaps even following the sound, but… no. He merely shook his head and body, soothing down the furs that insisted on stick up and slowly began heading back.
That was enough time, wasn’t it? For the two of them to finish off whatever childish quarrel they were involved on. He paused midway back, sniffing around a dandelion bush and selecting some of the leafiest branches he could find, nipping at their bases to free them from the rest of the plant. He guessed he could at least do this for them, offer a couple of leaves to chew in order to ease the pain. There, that sounded like a good enough reason to leave, other than telling them to their faces they were acting like entitled pups.
Such a thought made him chuckle softly behind a mouth filled with the herb. He sighed, lanky figure moving slowly and swiftly between the barks of trees and fallen trunks here and there with such a fluid gait that one could say he almost floated above the forest floor, and I wouldn’t be surprised if did as much. As phantasmagorical as he looked, Kotori often caught himself thinking whether he was indeed alive or merely a presence sent to haunt the pack. At times, like today, being a presence explained why others wouldn’t listen to him. Well, at least he could now use the good and old ‘I told You So’.
He slipped back into camp quietly, barely casting a glance to their little spectacle, and instead holding his head up and noise tilted to the sky on his best annoyance impression, if not a little arrogant. Was there anything more annoying then to have a pup like him shove it in your face he came to the exact same conclusion way before they even had to engage in a fight and stain their pelts with viscous blood, which probably would stink and be filled with flies before the middle of the day?
Now, that, as petty as it was, was a good thought considering a small vengeance. Kot, however, was nice enough to – despite thinking about all of that – come back with a fresh stack of herbs just to help with their wounds.
