Illiax raised a brow, not minding the pup but looking
at the brute, perhaps in awe, perhaps in curiosity. "I don't care for power,
not that I could have any due to my size but I'm not a dominate
wolf I suppose. It's why I hunt, I don't have to challenge other wolves
during a hunt, I feed the pack and I'm content with that I think."
She said though stopped when she realized she was babbling. He had
shared a small snip of his history, and he interested her greatly.
"I was born to a rouge, fathered by an Alpha who rejected
me because I was a runt." She added, though
her warm features twisted with anger towards what she said. It made
the muscles under her pelt itch with frustration. "But, that's
not as impressive as getting an Alpha title and leaving it." She said, but
said it in a way that was respectful. Each wolf has a reason for their actions
and he had a reason for his that he didn't want to share. "Is this
pup from your former pack?" She asked softly her tail thumping along
the ground but stilling it when the pup walked past, worried that perhaps
the pup would stumble, her gaze was trained on the pup watchfully.

Hann let out a small, surprised bark as she pinned him down. "I-I love you too.." He whispered, staring up into her eyes while his heart burned in his chest, pleased with the outcome. His ears perked, and he listened to her words. "Mhm." He would never say something so openly, but he was surprised such a pretty wolf could have been discarded like nothing. His gaze shifted to Minerva at the mention, who was busy batting at Illiax's tail. "Born to a rogue mother. Died of sickness and I.. was left with the pup." He worded it carefully, making sure Minerva would pay no real attention to his words. It was best if she didn't know- that was was his belief.

Khee's head shot around quickly at the voice of another unfamiliar wolf. His fur bristled and his ears flattened, obviously annoyed. Why couldn't he be left alone? First the confusing Fae, and now this male? He would have already been asleep if Luna hadn't shown up, and taken what was left of his meal! As soon as he was gone, Khee released a sigh and shook his head, turning into his den with a small limp.

Illiax could feel her eyes sting for the pup but reigned
in her emotions. She was having a battle with herself but
shook her head and blinked, a smile gracing her warm features.
"That's kind of you, she's a sweet pup." She added gently
and turned with a soft chuckle. A pups ignorance and innocence was
sometime Liax was envious of, ignorance was bliss. Though
Liax had a small feeling there was more to the story, it wasn't
one that should be told to young ears. Illiax whisked her tail to and
fro and let out a small laugh at the pup. "I can't tell
if she will be a fighter or a hunter." She said with a smile
clearly enjoying the youngster's company- though the brute was a nice
addition; Darkstorm was lucky to have that brute. She turned back
to the brute, "I hadn't really met a pup until this
pack took me in. Pups are rare to see when you're alone." She said
but paused once more to look over her shoulder into the
underbrush- this company was nice, no drama here, no tension
and no talk of war. A war which worried her suddenly, though she
returned her attention to the brute, "I suppose
I live in a small world that I meet a pup who was born to such a wolf,
are you her teacher or mentor?" She asked- if so this pup would
grow to be a force to be reckoned with..

Ragnar's tail flicked over the ground, sending a small cloud of dust into the air, only inches over the surface. "I will train her. I doubt anyone else would want to." His gaze softened over the shepup. "I will raise her to be strong, smart, loyal, patient, kind, and brave.." He whispered, watching the pup. He was whisked away slightly from reality, smiling as she played. "To be just like her father, with everything he is. But also, what he isnt." With a quick click, his vision focused on Illiax.

Illiax was sure of a suspicion, this brute was related to the pup. Be it father
or an uncle the way he watched her and talked, he was cautious. Her
gaze softened though as he spoke, "Any wolf would be lucky
to train such a brave pup. I'm sure her father is or would be proud of her." She
said softly, meeting Ragnar's gaze for a moment and studying him, he was
a handsome wolf, though his eyes intrigued her. The were grey yet held
a warmth to the that she would expect to be absent. "I'm also sure her
father must have been a good wolf to produce such a fine young she-wolf." She
said with a slight nob, breaking her gaze to swish her tail over Minerva's nose before
whisking it away playfully, a smile tugging at her maw. This small break from reality was
nice, no hostility, no drama, no danger- she felt safe. Which surprised her now that
she noticed, she didn't feel the same gut wrenching feeling of dread one would get
when in danger or in the face of a much larger and stronger 'rival'. It saddened her that
this brute and pup were in a different pack.."If you don't mind me asking,
do you like Darkstorm pack.. did they take well to the young one? I haven't heard
much of the pack that I feel isn't...biased or a tainted view." She said softly, turning
back to look at Ragnar.

Illiax flicked one of her ears towards the male as she let
out a quiet mock yelp and flopped over on her side, pawing
at Minerva playfully. "Easy there you lil' fighter!" She
barked with a smile- it wasn't often the female played
with pups, there was only one pup in the Snowstar pack
right now and Liax hadn't gotten around to knowing her. Liax
stayed out more often than she was in camp. She turned her
gaze back to Ragnar and cocked her head slightly, a small smile
forming on her maw. "I'm sure he is. Though I think
if he is present around her and she's doing okay, best leave things
as is." She said quietly but felt her attention perk
when the male spoke of his pack. It saddened her, "After everything
are the remaining wolves such as yourself there for the sake
of loyalty?" She said it softly and carefully, packs were
to some wolves a precious thing and she didn't want to offend.
"Do the other wolves of your pack share the same
opinion of them? Or are some of the others the same?" She asked
it worried her, if so many wolves thought that of two wolves within
their own pack sometimes must be going on for them to
stay, if not for loyalty then what else? Illiax could feel her
mind hum with the questions about the upcoming war
and what the brute thought of the war. Would he fight for an
Alpha he thought to be insane or would he pull away with the
pup before things got worse?

Minerva grinnined, releasingthe Fae's tail and beginning to hop in place, excited. "I won, I won!" The pup cheered, looking to Ragnar, wide eyed and hopefull. "Did I do good?"
Ragnar watched silently, looking from Illiax's face to Minervas. What did he do now? What did most fathers do? His mind was muddled with confusion, but he forced himself, moving over, nearing his pup and the SnowStar fae. "You did absolutely wonderful, Min." He murmered. "What do You want to be when you grow up?"
The pup just giggled, pouncing on his front paws. "Something great!"
Ragnar gave the pup a quick lick, before his sight once more returned to Illiax. "I don't.. know. I suppose as long as Minerva remains safe, I'll do anything. If that means leaving this forest, or killing as many wolves as necessary-" He finished their quickly, closing his jaw.

Illiax listened carefully and nodded her head, if Minerva
were directly in danger he would leave. It was noble, but a small voice
hummed in her mind that if the brute left with the pup theres a chance
that they'd never meet again. "I hope it doesn't come to either
of you leaving- at least too far." She mumbled softly, letting out a cough
as she realized how that could sound to some wolves. "You know... hunters
and wolves who have no moral.." She quickly added- feeling surprisingly flustered.
She didn't want to brute to think she was some how..attached to him or his pup,
and even if she was it didn't matter, the likelihood that the brute would ever
feel the same is slim to none in her mind. She spoke quieter now though,
in an attempt that the pup wouldn't hear, "I hope the war
is over sooner rather than later.. both packs need a break from the tension.
I just hope no innocent wolves get hurt in the process.." She expressed
her worries out loud, the war did in fact frighten the small she-wolf, war
brings loss and Liax despite not being particularly close to any
wolves would be saddened to see some of them injured. Plus if Liax
were somehow caught in the middle she would only be able to out run
a fighter, which would be relatively easy given her size but terrifying
nonetheless.

Koda remained quietly hidden as the other she-wolf approached and the two conversed. He couldn't hear their conversation over the rushing of the river; however, although Koda wasn't an incredibly nosy wolf — quite the opposite, actually — he found himself curious. What had they been talking about, anyhow? Surely not secretive Snowstar information, they were far too close to the border; of course, even if it had been, Koda didn't exactly feel obligated to share whatever info he gathered with Kali. Despite being a Darkstorm officially, he was more neutral than anything.
In the time it took Koda to think over these issues, the she-wolves had ended their conversation, and it seemed as if both had left. Koda blinked, standing up straight and peering out at the river. He hopped over a small bush, heading for the river. Now that they were both gone, he could get a drink without concern of a skirmish.

Blaire chuckled, glancing up at Link in a friendly manner.
"It doesn't matter," she said. "Kali doesn't want me. I owe her nothing. I'm better off here, anyway."
Blaire looked back to the ground for a moment, fixing her eyes on a spot of dirt on her paw for a brief moment.
"Either way, you know, I'm really glad to see a familiar face." She paused a moment. "It's comforting. Everything here is so... strange. I'm not wanted here, either. They don't trust me, although I suppose I can see why..."
