She frowned a bit at Haze's change in attitude and sat down, curling her tail around her. "A few years...?" She trailed off, ears drooping a bit. That was so far away! Iris was thinking that the savannah was only a week or so away, not months or possibly years. She turned to look at fox who had crept closer, seemingly interested in their conversation. She watched the fox intently, tilting her head at the mention of a plane. The word sounded familiar to Iris, but she couldn't remember what the word meant. Before she could ask what a plane was, Haze went ahead and asked. Turns out he didn't know what a plane was either.

The fox nodded. "A plane, like a big metal bird that humans fly in", he said. He flicked his ear. Circus had grown up living amongst humans, so he had extensive knowledge about them. In fact, he once lived near an airport.

"Oh, I think I've seen those! I've never been in one before, though." She said, recalling her time in the zoo where she occasionally saw planes flying across the sky. She never knew what they were until now, and didn't know that animals were put in there. "Is that what the humans put you in? A plane?" She asked, looking to Haze.

Grapefruit :: Albino American Alligator :: Male :: Location - River :: Tags - Open

Grapefruit stretched out lazily on the shallow shore of the river, swiping at the river bottom with pale claws while fixing his eyes on a nearby flock of birds. It was a careless, unproductive day...but that could change in a heartbeat. He shifted deeper into the water, then straightened himself completely and began to slowly slice through, heading for the centre of the watery expanse. He swayed left and right slightly, enjoying the rhythm of his strategic swim, and he couldn't help but grin grimly. "Time to eat," he murmured in a soft, fluttery rasp, then dove for the fish, startling the birds, who shot up into the air. He swallowed swiftly, then gave a toothy smile. He liked being alone - and he hoped it would be that way. Unless he changed his mind...he might. He glanced at the shore.

The fox nodded. Circus turned to fully look at the lions. They were very big compared to him. Maybe I can stick around with them...?, he thought, staring off to space.

Agni (female) (housecat) (3y) (tags: Grapefruit)
The housecat crouched. She scented a couple of birds nearby. She slowly padded toward the river. Agni dug her claws into the ground, lightly jumping off a ledge. She landed close to the birds near the river. Agni stalked them, inching forward. But suddenly there was a big splash. The birds flew up. Startled, Agni yowled and landed flat on her back. She got up slowly, slightly dizzy and noticed a alligator in the water.

Grapefruit thought he heard a distinct yowl, and as his eyes focused on the shore he detected a small shape near the river. "What do we have here?" He muttered to himself curiously, then resolved to swim closer. As he neared, he made it out to be a rather small-looking house cat. After the fish, he didn't feel hungry enough to stalk it, but nevertheless he moved towards it at a steady speed, sure the exchange that would follow to be interesting. Something to relieve the boredom of a warm, hazy day, at least. Grapefruit liked spontaneity. It made his life less monotone. "What's up?" He called out in a neutral tone, staring at the cat with even eyes as he slunk near the water's edge. "Hi, kitty," he added when he got closer.

The housecat hissed with disappointment, watching the birds gently fly away. Agni whipped around to see the alligator. "I'll tell you what's up! I'm going to starve because of you!", she growled. Realizing she was scolding a very large animal that could easily snap her neck, she flattened her ears and took a step back. Her instincts told her to run, but she was extremely curious.

Grapefruit tilted his head back slightly in surprise at the housecat's outburst. He didn't whether to appear amused, annoyed or remorseful, so he settled for calm. "Well, that's too bad, then, isn't it?" He said in his low, smooth voice, acting thoroughly unruffled as he came to a stop in front of her. He eyed the cat with a calculatingly look, noticed her flattened ears, then let his mouth curve into a smile. It might actually be fun to have company. Even if it was just a little housecat. Temporary company, of course, and then who knew what might happen. "Why don't you fish in the water?" He suggested. "There's plenty of fish. Too much fish to eat cat." He sunk back down to the bottom.

Haze finally understood, a plane is a metal bird, got it. "Yeah, I think the humans put me a plane." He sighed, it must fly very fast because he remembered that occasionally, he would glance outside the windows and see green. Trees, he was flying above it all, it was a horrific experience but it made him realise that there are many things even he didn't know about. "How do you think we could be able to get to the savannahs?" He asked the fox and his friend, since the fox looks like he explored many forests, surely he knew the way back to the plains?

The fox shrugged. "I think the closest way is by sea...", he said, recalling when he once boarded a boat which took him to a place referred to as "North Africa". Circus pieced back his journey, remembering the town he traveled to that had the boat. "I could take you there", he offered. How are we supposed to get across the sea...swim?!, he thought to himself. The fox decided it best to think about that if they actually get there.

The she-cat flicked her ears. "And risk you trying to eat me? I don't think so", she said to the alligator. Agni paced back and forth at the edge of the river. But she was very hungry...... Agni slowly padded closer to the river, eyeing a fish. She glanced at the alligator, then made a jump to catch it. She clawed at it, hooking it. She pulled it toward her mouth and bit it. Agni swam back to shore.
