Seeing he had stopped speaking, avery quickly turned her gaze to the ground. "sorry.. I thought.. you might need someone to listen.." She mumbles, shuffling her paws around the seaweed and clams she had collected.

"No. Well yes. But that's not why I stopped. I'm not use to wolves not being afraid of me," he paused again. "Why are you not afraid of me?"

Avery looked back up at him, her ears flattening on her skull. "Umm.. I uh, am actually terrified a the moment.. but I'm swallwing my fear" She explained.

"Huh," he paused, "well you do a good job of it." He stuck out his tongue and licked the blood off his nose, "Yeah well don't worry. I can't really start a fight in this condition."

Avery let out a small sigh. her posture changing dramatically. she looked a bit more relaxed then before but she still was ready for anything. Looking at him she pauses before speaking. "you sure.. you dont want my help?" She asked, indicating she could help with his wounds.

"Isn't healing... Usually a Beta's job? You don't act like a Beta..." he grunted, "Do you know anything about herbs or whatever nonsense they use?"

Avery's ears fell back again. "I've watched our beta.. heal a few people.. My mother also taught me abit.." she whispered, looking at the sand around her paws. "But I've never gotten enough courage to show my talent.. in front of our alpha.."

"Well if you know what will help, I dont see why not. If youre good, you can talk to your Alphas about it," Hawk paused, his voiced softening, "but they also have that sixth sense. That's when you know you deserve that rank."

Spirit leaped at the calf. The mother was frightened, and she quickly herded it away.

He charged at the calf, helping Spirit herd it away. He bit at its ankles to try and get it to stop running.
