The beautiful lighter tan she wolf twitched black lined ears. The amber eyed one looked to Basil, who was just standing there…She then watched Smoke go to tell the two herself. The pregnant she wolf continued to stand there and wait, then.

The kind and caring but shy and nervous black one heard Saffron. S/he quickly looked over to their trainer. S/he said "I'm doing better today," and offered a smile. "How are you doing?" they then politely asked their trainer.

The pretty chocolate one, with a white muzzle and chest patch hummed. They then dipped their head to Talon. "Okay," they said to him, then continued to think. They were wondering who could temporarily take over their warrior training.

The black nosed dark gray one looked up as Canary returned. They saw the water soaked moss, and nodded.

The beautiful amber eyed gray wolf looked up as Canary returned. She gratefully took the water, and began to drink.

Enui had no issues in navigating the forest, even with her limp. She had grown up here, had spent so many seasons patrolling her lands. She didn't wait up for Jay, hearing them following behind her. Rather than walk in silence all the way to the river, she spoke as they strolled through the trees.
"Jay, what do you think makes a good all-around? Or a good wolf, for that matter?"

Storm shook her head at Karter's reply.
"You're skipping steps. Yes, I did intervene, but I asked what you think she was so upset about. No matter, I'll tell you." She said and carried on briskly. "See, she was upset because Shadow asked Nadia - the all-around, you know - to fight? Apparently Nadia's pregnant? But it's so early that she's not even showing - I doubt there are even pups in her belly, really." She shook her head, she didn't know much about how that worked, not really. No one had bothered to teach her about it and she certainly didn't have any experience herself with it. "Anyway, she totally went off on our Alpha! Screaming about how could she send a capable all-around into danger, because it might cost her the pups - again, the pups that aren't even showing in Nadia's belly?" She shook her head. "Well, that's where I had to intervene. I said that Nadia's contribution to the fight helped the whole pack - that not having her there could have cost us more than one new litter of pups. Then, of course, Terra turned on me." She rolled her eyes and gave an exasperated sigh.

"Ranting and raving about how I didn't know anything, I wasn't a Lead position. And then - then she told me that she wouldn't treat any of my injuries or illnesses going forward! She left after that, stalking away like some arrogant... pompous- ahem. Pardon me, I'm just so frustrated thinking about it. Like, the first time she's questioned, after shouting at our Alpha, and suddenly she's abusing her rank and threatening her pack mates?" Storm pulled back her lips in a frustrated growl. "The nerve! You're never so harsh with me, Karter. I can't see how you could possibly be related." She shook her head again. "Anyway, our kind and noble Alpha has assured me that she'll be punished if she truly refuses to treat me and that Kotori will look after me all the same, thank goodness. Still... it's at this point... Even if Terra apologizes to me, I don't think I'm in a mood to forgive her." She snorted. "Bringing her position as a healer into it... and right after Rowan died? We were all affected by his death, not just her and it sounds like she's why he took off in the first place."

Storm turned her gaze to Karter.
"I know that it's the Fire Pack's fault. Of course it is - and I'm sure she didn't want for anything bad to happen to him. I'm sure I'm just under so much stress - even those of us who didn't fight directly are affected by the consequences of the battle yesterday. It's just... I don't know." She sighed and brushed her pelt against her friend's. "I feel like none of us really valued him - or any of our deceased pack mates - until they weren't here. It's so sad... especially when Terra was his Trainer. She should have been the closest to him - he didn't have any living relatives in the pack anymore, right?"

"I didn’t know Nadia was pregnant!" Karter yelped, eyes widening. That was certainly a first. She wouldn’t start showing for at least another couple weeks though, surely! Even so, if she was able to work as any other wolf was, then by Pack law, she was obligated to continue her duties. On one hand, Terra had lost a Trainee and was distressed, on the other hand, trying to tell off an Alpha…that took audacity. Karter slowly breathed out. Why was he even surprised? "Uh…no, you’re not a Lead, but…Leads were regular ranks like us. What’s to say they know any different?" He pointed out.

Karter came up short though when Storm declared that the Healer was outright denying her treatment. Was that even ALLOWED? He’d never heard a law against it, but morally? "I love my sister, I do, but that’s ridiculous. That’s the behaviour of a pup! We do our jobs because we have to, because it’s the best way for us to serve our Pack, and we don’t GET to pick and choose most of the time. If she ignores injuries obtained on a hunt or something and you get infected with something, that’s gonna affect more than just you, and it’d be her fault." Karter had always assumed himself the be the more…ah…troublesome one of the three, but apparently on occasion, he was not the most impulsive. He didn’t want to speak harshly of the sister who’d stayed with him when he needed her most, again and again, but he couldn’t help but catch a hint of Storm's fury. "And if she actually decides to deny treatment and it wasn’t just said in a fit of anger or whatever, then maybe Shadow SHOULD do somethin' 'bout it, sooner rather than later, before anyone can get hurt or another fight breaks out over it."

Karter couldn’t help but felt a tug at his heart when Storm spoke, the truest words he'd ever heard. They didn’t truly value someone until they were no longer there. "I dunno. Honestly, I keep my distance from most of the Pack. I knew the Healers okay, given I was in there a lot to help out when I was a Trainee, and when things get busy, but I never asked for details. He certainly never talked ‘bout a family." He reached over and gently licked Storm's ear. "Sorry to hear you had to deal with that last night. Musta been an exhausting day even WITHOUT that."
