Xavier turned to White Flame at Blaze's words. "I would have to consult with my beta."

Star snapped around. "You aren't honestly thinking of accepting him, are you?!" She snarled.

Xavier ignored Stars complaint. "Star. Go back to camp. Now." He barked.

Star locked eyes with him, but almost immediately looked away. Then she gave Blaze a harsh bite on the throat. It was hard enough to draw blood, but not enough to hurt him for over a week. Then she got off of him, gave him a look of warning, and began to walk away. She brushed her tail against White Flame as she left, as if thanking him. Then she was gone.

Xavier growled at Star when she bit the wolf. Then nodded to her as she left. He felt a tinge of guilt but didn't show it.

White Flame turned to Xavier and perked his ears. He watched Star bite the wolf, but he said nothing. Nodding to Star as she padded away, White Flame returned his gaze to Xavier and stepped slightly away from the loner. "I know that I wasn't here the whole time, so what happened?" White Flame asked the alpha barely above a whisper.

Xavier turned to the wolf. "Stay here." He woofed calmly. Then he turned to White Flame and walked even farther away from the wolf. "Star smelled him all the way from camp. I swear, her skills improve every day! She also said she smelled you and another loner... but we can adress that later." He said this with a questioning look but continued, "We came to the border, and I asked the loner what he was doing. Said he was admiring the camp. I told him he was on our territory, and then he tried to assert dominance over me. Star threatened him, he threatened back, then he bit Star and ran. Then, well, here we are." Xavier said, stress filling his voice.

White Flame followed Xavier carefully and listen to what he had to say. "Assert dominance over you!," He chuckled to himself and flicked his tail. "Yes, here we are," he repeated what Xavier had said. White Flame thought for a moment to himself, "So, what? Do they want to join the pack? No wolf should be all alone, but, I mean, has he given you any reason to seem trustworthy or be an asset to the pack? Candy and the other loner that I met today, which I need to talk to you about, both seemed to need our help as well as being sensible wolves. I guess I don't know enough about him to have a decent say as to what we do with him." White Flame knew that there was probably more to the wolf than what he had just heard, but he was not that laid back with loners. If they thought that they could try to threaten any wolf in his pack, especially Xavier or Star, and then think they can just join the pack, White Flame would need a very good explanation.

Xavier glanced at the wolf. "No, they have shown no sign of respect or loyalty, and from what I've seen they have no idea on how pack life is." Xavier frowned. "I would like you to talk to him more. You can take him around the border and talk to him. I don't want him near camp. You've always had a good sense of morality, and you always see the good in wolves. I want you to try and find some good in this one. Whatever you can find will be good." Xavier smiled slightly. "But first, tell me about your loner?" He questioned.

Star arrived at camp and took a look around. All she saw was Daze. She trotted to the kill pile and picked up a rather small rabbit. The sun beamed on her fur as she sat in front of the hunting den.

White Flame nodded at Xavier's first comment and blushed slightly. He smiled and began to tell his story about the loner he had met earlier, "Well, when you and Star left with Candy, Daze convinced me to go out and check the borders with him. We came across this loner. I approached him, and when I learned he wasn't a threat, I sent Daze back to camp. I talked to the loner and learned that his name was Latke. His mate and pups had abandoned him many months ago, and he had been alone ever since." White Flame glanced over at Blaze and then looked back at Xavier, "You see, he wanted to join the pack, so I told him to wait at the border and I would go to to talk to you."

Daze

Daze lay in camp, still sort of annoyed with White Flame for sending him away earlier. He watched as Star entered camp and stood up. "Hey!" He called to the huntress and trotted over to her, "What is happening?" Daze nodded to the forest where Star had just come from.

Star flicked her tail, an annoyed look on her face. "Stupid loner freaking attacked me... Challenged Xavier, but that doesn't matter. He attacked me! The nerve!" She growled, digging her claws into the dirt.

Xavier smiled back at White Flame. "I should be able to find this loner by scent. I'll see you around. If you need me, feel free to howl." Xavier turned to go, but then turned back. "This loner you met, Latke, do you trust him?"

Daze

Daze raised an eyebrow at Star, "Attacked you!" He exclaimed his anger slipping out into his voice, "Why are you here? Where is that loner now?!? I'll teach him a lesson!" Daze snorted and paced back and forth. He then shook out his fur and pulled himself back together and regained his cool. "Wait, are you alright?" He asked Star slightly concerned.

"I'll see you around," White Flame responded and then listened to Xavier's last comment, "I mean I don't trust wolves that easily, as you probably know, but I would say that he is trustworthy. If I knew him longer, he would probably gain my trust." He nodded to the alpha and turned to approach Blaze.

Xavier nodded. "Be careful," he whispered, but for some reason he hoped Flame hadn't heard it. Then he put his nose to the floor and approached Latke. He saw the orange wolf and approached him slowly. "Hello, I am Xavier, the alpha of this pack. I was sent here by my beta who has alerted me of your presence. Latke, is it?" He asked.

Star looked at her paws. "I'm fine. Gave him a scar he'll remember." She spat "I was going to-" she stopped, "Xavier is trying to get him in the pack now." She changed the subject. Her mind was clouded with anger and annoyance. "I'm going for a walk." She stood up and placed the rabbit back in the pile.
