indentation Alpine chuckled softly to River.
"If you're old, what does that make me? Ancient, that's what!" Alpine watched as she trotted away to find Blaze.
"You're mother would be so proud of you. I am so proud of the strong wolf you have become." He said this more to himself as he knew she was out of earshot and wouldn't hear him. Alpine finished making his way to the pack dens and turned to destiny beofre poking his head in. She was trying to stop him from going on the hunting party, and he was deeply grateful that she was not letting him go. Alpine nuzzled her cheek and whined softly.
"I will have Blaze lead it after I talk to him. Please come with me? I don't want to sleep alone, you know I can't when you aren't next to me. We can share something to eat and then I promise I will get some sleep." Alpine practically begged his mate to stay. Even though he was Alpha Male, he would always treat Destiny like the Queen she was.
indentation Alpine poked his head into the pack den and saw Huxley sitting up near his small nest. Alpine greeted the male with a dip of his head.
"Good morning Huxley. I trust you are ready for a good hunt today? I have to talk to Blaze, but be ready for when he calls you." Alpine nodded to the other male again and pulled his head out, his ears scratching against the brambles. Alpine turned and started heading towards Oskari's den, well now his den. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and spotted the dark pelt of Blaze wading through the thick snow towards the den.
indentationAlpine moved faster to catch up with him.
"Blaze! I see River found you? Did she fill you in, my friend?" Alpine asked Blaze, bumping his shoulder against the dark wolf. Blaze was an exceptional member of the pack, if Alpine were to choose anyone to stand by his side and be his Beta male, he would 100% choose Blaze for the job.
"I wanted to talk to you about a couple things, if I may?" Alpine motioned for Blaze to follow him into the Alpha's den. Alpine led Blaze down the tunnel and to the left where Oskari's den used to be. Alpine pushed through the curtain of vines covering the entrance to the den and stepped inside. He hadn't been in here since Oskari had fallen ill. It took a moment for Alpine to get adjusted, he felt lightheaded all the sudden and swayed on his paws. As he steadied himself, Alpine turned to Blaze and sat down, motiong for the other wolf to do the same.
"Don't have to be as formal in here, huh old friend?" Alpine grinned at Blaze, hoping Blaze would lighten up just a little bit like he used to.

AZTEC

indentation Aztec slipped out of the camp entrance, out into the untouched white snow, there were little indentations in the snow from where he had stepped earlier that morning, but the freshly fallen snow had filled in the paw prints mostly. Aztec looked around at the snow covered ground. It was so peaceful and quiet out here, there was some soft bird song, but not much, and that was about it. Aztec pawed around in the snow, searching for any scent of prey that he could find. It had taken him all morning to catch the stupid rabbit. He had wasted way too much energy on that skinny thing. His stomach rumbled and he grunted in annoyance. He hadn't eaten anything since late yesterday morning, and it hadn't been much, just a small little bird, not unlike the ones he had brought to the mothers. Aztec moved from his spot so that his paws didn't freeze to the earth. He made his way through the snow blanketed forest, trying to find some hint of life, prey anything, He would give anything for a little scuffle to get his muscles warmed up.
indentationAztec sighed passing a tree with the scent of some small mammals at the base, but they were old, they were from about two and a half day's ago, if he had to guess, so the scent was pretty stale.
Curse this winter! he snarled to himself. It seemed that this winter had been longer and harsher than the past winters. There was less prey than before, Aztec wondered if that was because the pack had more mouths to feed. The pack did seem to be growing. There were a lot of members now, most of them weren't even born in this pack. Aztec shook his head and continued on, trying to find something that he could bring back to the pack. He wandered along, thinking about all the pups that were due this spring, and he hoped that spring would bring plenty of Elk for the pack to hunt, but Aztec feared that the herds had moved on.

indentation Echo smiled, looking up at the she-wolf. Echo was happy that Peach wanted to go hunting with her. It would really suck to be out in that cold without someone to talk to. If they were all going to be miserable, than might as well be miserable together and at least have some fun. Echo knew that there must be a million other things that Peach would rather be doing then hunting in the cold, and honestly, Echo could say the same, but It needed to be done, or there would be a lot of hungry mouths and many of them wouldn't survive. Oskari's death was proof that the winter months were no joke.
indentationEcho followed Peach out into the frigid forest, the snow was still falling, or at least Echo thought it was, she couldn't tell, it might have just been blowing off of the trees. There was a set of tracks leading away from the camp that looked big enough for a wolf, with a slight sniff Echo identified the tracks as Aztec's prints. They were relatively fresh too, as the snow had not filled them up like all the others. Echo looked over to Peach.
"I think we should go this way." Echo said, gesturing with her nose to the opposite way of Aztec's tracks.
"Looks like Aztec went that way, not to long ago." Echo followed Peach stopping to sniff at the roots of some trees, checking for scents of anything.
"Yeah me to. Everything is stale." Echo growled in frustration. This hunt was not going well.
indentationEcho looked up from some roots as Peach made the comment that something big had gone through. Echo tilted her head, confused by the sight. There were broken branches everywhere and the snow had been cleared in a winding path through the trees. It must have been this morning as the snow was only just beginning to fill up the massive trail. Echo leaned her head down and sniffed along the trail, sneezing once when she got snow in her nose. She spotted a chunk of fur and some frozen blood not far from where they were standing.
"Peach, come look at this!" Echo called her companion. Echo sniffed it cautiously and then looked back at Peach.
"It's from a wolf, but not a scent that I recognize. But there are multiple scents on the trail, mostly likely from more than one wolf, i would say at least, seven different wolves." Echo glanced over at Peach.
"What should we do, now? Do you think we should follow it? It might be gone by the time we can get a group out here to check it out.."
