Thessadowes | Lightning Pack | All-Around | Location: Forest | Tagging: Smoke
Feeling a flush of energy, Thess didn't spare a glance back to camp as she headed eagerly after Smoke. She was quite ready to spend some time in the forest with a friend. Of course, there was work to do, but it was obviously far less enjoyable alone. Once she exited the camp, the whole environment seemed to change. It was still chilly and white outside, blanketed in thin snow. The trees were still sporting little buds of new growth, and patches of green still spread throughout the drooping grass. However, what changed were the sounds. The chatter of the Pack camp was now a part of the background noises, and the early season birds seemed to sing louder in the air. The crispness of the crunching snow beneath Thessadowes's paws was louder, and carried a cleaner resonation to her ears. She loved this part of the seasons, the time between winter and spring. It felt right.
Thessadowes padded beside Smoke, a smile resting on her muzzle.
"It'll take a little longer to reach the Fire Pack border if we walk." The All-Arounder noted, shaking out her fur absently.
"Do you want to race to it? Weather like this just gives me so much energy. Or, we could just enjoy the scenery and talk on the way. I am okay with either." Thess offered, flicking her tail from side to side.
Sandpiper | Lightning Pack | Hunter | Location: Camp | Tagging: Open
Sandpiper wormed her way out of the Hunter's den, her pelt looking quite scruffy. She wore a sleepy grin on her face, her eyes squinting slightly against the sunlight's reflection off the leftover snow. The wolf looked somewhat confused, yet content, as if she'd just had the absolute best rest in her entire lifetime. Which just might be true, considering how late she had slept in.
This tired fog of hers only lasted a few more seconds before reality dawned on the Huntress. The movement around camp suggested all or nearly all wolves were already awake and active, maybe even heading out on a patrol. Piper looked around camp with now-wide eyes, the smile on her muzzle quite deflated. The she-wolf was able to catch a glimpse of a white tail exiting the camp, a confirmation of her previous thought.
Oh, rat bones. Piper growled inwardly, shaking her head vigorously, closely followed by the rest of her spiky fur. It didn't flatten down quite the way she would have hoped, but she didn't have time to groom herself now. Agh, how could she have overslept?? She was a REAL Hunter now! For a while, she had been. Sleeping in wasn't really supposed to be on a Hunter's to-do list for the day.
Whining underneath her breath, Sandpiper trotted towards the centre of camp, her head tilting quizzically (and desperately) from side to side as she searched for any signs of a hunting patrol. Maybe she'd be able to catch one early enough to where she didn't get scolded by her superiors.
Before she could spot any patrols, a singular wolf caught Sandpiper's eyes. It took her a while to pin a name, but she soon recognized the figure to be Bian, a wolf the same rank as her. She didn't really know Bian that well, had only greeted in passing and hunted with occasionally. Perhaps this was an opportunity to get to know her Packmate (and future friend, Sandpiper hoped) better. The Huntress turned to the side and approached the other wolf, her ears pricked high, in a friendly demeanor.
"Hello!" She greeted, wagging her tail a few times. "I'm Sandpiper, but you probably already know that. I mean, we live in the same pack, so like, we have to know each other anyways. But it did take me a few seconds to remember your name, sorry! With other wolves, I'm usually able to tell who they are right-away. Not with you, though, so sorry again," She said with a little laugh, opening a conversation in her usual way of giving too much unnecessary information and not enough room for the other to speak.
"I woke up, um, a little, sort of, late? So I was wondering if you.. if you wanted to head out hunting with me. I need to get out and catch something for more reasons than one." Sandpiper offered, shifting her weight from one side to the other.
