ᛒᛊᚣᚱ ᛈᚳᚣⰞ
"RRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEAAAAAAAAGGRRRRRRHHH!!!" Krux roared in fury. His voice thundered around the campgrounds, the booming caused rumbling to the grounds.
With all his might he kicked a near by branch large enough to make a medium sized log, letting out a huff he paced around atop the roof of his den every muscle in him tensing the moment his paw touched the ground with each step. It's been 4 months since the packs split in two, and atop of that he saw his dignity to be challenged by the rejection of Kendall. He could've understood should she had simply left, but this he had taken personally. And on top of that they had managed to re-enforce their defenses when they convinced a female rouge to help them. His, rouge. The one he had been planning to lead up to for the past month.
She must have used her youth and size into persuasion, after all, who sane wolf would decline helping a little young wolf in distress with an old man like Krux roaming around. He was fully convinced that's what she'd done. and it only pissed him off that much more knowing Dark Void was making great process where as the Bear Claws were stuck where they began. Can't these idiots see that Krux was trying to drive them away from the path their last alpha had created!?
But he couldn't do it entirely alone, it needed planning and precision, a strategy solider than any rock they could find. He was there when it all happened, he watched as their ex alpha had built their empire since he was just young boy, but no one believed him, or even knew. He was a savior not a destructor! And he would not stand to be represented by such an image painted by Dark Void.
-
They needed to raise their ranks, their member count, their defenses and offenses.
Qiu was laying in a tree branch that hung over the Alpha's den, he sure hadn't wasted time to pick a good spot for his royally quarters. She watched as the spotted male had his temper tantrum. They're been best friends for as long as she could remember, and she knew him to the bone. She just hoped he would be done in time for her to leave and meet up with Wren, if her senses weren't failing her, she guessed her sister was waiting for her by her den already, like she had been every day for a while now. Sure maybe with new pack orders they weren't so close like in their puphood, but they weren't distant either, there was an odd balance in their relationship, that somehow it worked.
"Are you done yet, tantrum baby?"
She asked watching as the male expended all his energy sources, most of them anyway. To which in return he had given her a dirty look. She sighed affectionally and adjusted her position to more comfortable keep her head up. "Listen.. I know it's been hard the last few months, and we're no better than where we were, but You're not gonna get that much further if you keep wasting time like this. This pack needs guidance, they need orders and tasks, they need more-"
"They need more members."
The male grumbled in a tone that rivaled seriousness, the rasp from his earlier scream scratching at his throat. Qiu almost impressed nodded her head with a devious smile. "Exactly.. They need more members, more members means more socialization, More socialization means stronger pack bonds, more couples bringing more pups to his pack, and more pups speaks more warriors for you." she assured him soothingly, "Surely.. you're smart enough to think of something.." Qiu had made her climb downward and nosed Krux on the muzzle.
The alpha male sighed taking a deep breath, she was right, they didn't have to be stronger, just smarter. Gazing out in the distance he began to wonder. Allowing her words to sink in more. What if they encouraged pack breeding? Broke traditions and took it to the ropes. "This could work.." his deep, yet calm voice hummed. It almost made him sound caring, almost. But just enough to show he wasn't all brood.
The light wind helping him ease in his early morning, and glancing in the Pupsitter camp's direction he began to wonder, almost in a melancholy, what it must be like to have a family of his own. Surely the pups would keep Misty busy, it'd give fighters a chance to train successors, and may do Thistle some good, occupying her mind over the departure of Thordane, it'd provide Wren with an outlet as well - having someone new to play with. Rex and Tasha would be able to expand their own ranks as well.
He still needed to assign leads and paramount ranks amongst his pack. Though he guessed to ensure they don't tense up around him he'd have to get used to the family aspect of it all. He'll definitely have to run through some of his members in his head and see who deserves to be promoted. Nothing was right in this pack, not after the way their past leader left it, he felt sorry for the way the pack he was forced to grow up in had taken many other groups, many other families, and many other packs just to create an empire. Bear Claw was somehow left as their sub pack. It made him sick to his mouth. He sure had a lot of thinking to do...
Krux sighed deeply, there was just so much to do. And He had to be clever about where he starts. "I heard the brothers of Dark void have a cousin roaming around somewhere. Rouge's are not our best options, but desperate ones and potential leverage definitely worth the risk. We'll take it easy for a while, give Dark Void a chance to build up their Anxiety. Focus on building us as a unit. See if we can afford any deputies to go searching for this.. Keyzzar.
Maybe family bonds will break and cause a weakness rift when one of their best fighters and hunters fail to preform due to personal reasons. Surely an embodied combination of Kapro and Karper would give us that boost we seek. Let's just pray by the gods they haven't found him first."
"Yes, Krux. And anything else?" she prodded slyly.
"The usual business as always. I need time to think our next move through. This has become a dangerous game of Wolf Chess." Deep down the Russet female growled with irritation. And with about as straight of a tone as she could confirmed his orders. Sometimes she was amazed in Krux's capabilities to be just as smart as he is angry and become just as dumb as he is calm the next moment. There were times where Qiu had questioned how he is still alive and has been able to prevent a mutiny. Of course he was able to prevent a mutiny, she was doing all the work after all! She's the reason he's still even in his 'throne', and how long has it been since he thanked her for all her efforts.
No matter, she had business to attend to, and a pack to keep afloat. Qiu also had one more stop to make.
"Hey, Wren.." was all her sweet voice said upon approaching the fighter.

Liannah strolled through the brush and down the path her head held high, an expression that can only be explained as unfazed. She was high amongst the hunter ranks, however she was still a lady, a grumpy lady. As the sand blonde stopped, she began to observe, taking a stalking position, her long tail swayed elegantly through the grass, making little to no noise. She listened, staying a silent as the dead. She could hear soft, quiet rustling, her ear twisted towards the source, and she gazed the creature directly in his auburn eyes, her glare burning through him, and giving into the hypnosis. They both knew they were aware of each other's presence. Yet Karper had fairly disguised himself in the dark parts of the flora, his gray blending with the shade. He was a nocturnal hunter, perfect to unsee-able stealth.
That's what role Liannah had bestowed upon him.
Leaping with a snarl he went for the kill, but Liannah had ducked low enough to evade him, sending him crashing into the brush behind her. Unamused she stood up and huffed. "You couldn't hunt even a mouse, Karper. You need to practice sync with your surroundings. Evaluate what you can use, and I might not have seen you."
"Yes Your Leadership. Understood." He couldn't deny he was disappointed in the feedback he received, but he could tell Liannah just wasn't in the mood this morning.
Karper was her best hunter, Liannah was full aware of it, and yet she demanded he perfect his work even when there really just was no need for it. Liannah doesn't pick favorites, but so far Karper was her favorite, especially amongst the males. He knew all the right tactics and strategies to use, and he always was open to feedback, he had always worked hard to ensure his posture or anything else wouldn't mess up the hunt and risk losing their meal. It was these kinds of thoughts that made her soften no matter what mood she was in the given moment. Whenever she had sent him off alone with his teammates or certain numbers he made sure to position them properly, run through protocols with them, the synergy just screamed a team in perfect sync! Then why was she feeling so doubtful.
She sighed heavily to herself, it was very close to end of the mating season, however this specific season the usually level headed female felt increasingly testy, irked, and bothered. It just felt like she needed sometime away from others, as she does every season, she becomes a little evasive, and elusive as her way of avoiding it all together. But she just needed to be with Karper at this moment, despite the amount of friends and love she has for them, she felt unsure if she could approach them, and Karper Gray just always had made it so, easy, to do it. She also hoped perhaps keeping their skills sharp could help her keep her head together, she'd be lying if somewhere in the deepest, darkest, depths of her unconscious she wasn't worried of Bear Claw's odd calm.
Liannah opened her mouth and breathed in, ready to speak, but chosen against it without even knowing why. She'd thought about it a lot, and at the very same time was terrified she would be rushing things. She wanted to promote him to her companion in the Lead hunter category, but she was afraid Kendall would disagree, or that it would be too quick to follow no matter how much confidence she had in her former apprentice. Liannah sensed that he just had this natural energy radiation about him, about everything, and it only made her question herself so much more debating if there even was a leadership energy present or was it all in her head.
"Karper.." Liannah addressed audibly. As the young male stopped in his tracks and displayed full attention to his Lead, Liannah could tell he wore the face of worry and deep curiosity combined. "Show me." She commanded.
Facing almost confused he took a second to process what she was entailing. And when realization struck he spotted a young buck nearby, and immediately understood his mission.
As he was beginning to ground himself stalking closer he tiptoed lightly in a low trot, like a cat in the dark, Karper eyed his prize like his life depended on it. As he was about to strike a pale-simple-coated canid leaped from the opposing bushes startling the buck, missing by an inch, to run away. Liannah snarled her fangs glinting in the light, with her tight emerald stare burning through the smaller creature, Karper leaped into action when he noticed the coyote wasn't alone; it was a pack of 4.
One of them was very persistent in challenging the two wolves, Karper made a guess they were the lead of the group. And stared it down in the eyes. Whilst Liannah glared those that were behind him, leaving in an 'Uno reverse' position from above. Karper's low growl slowly picked up more volume and ferocity, insisting to warn the little nuisance they were trespassing, and they were way in over their little heads. However the warning having been ignored, the other 3 slowly paced around finding a blind spot to attack form. Liannah snapped her jaws at the one closest to her, this pack must be real desperate if they're foolish enough to take on 2 adult wolves. Having managed to distract the Male hunter by nipping at his butt, the lead went for Karper's decently thick neck the moment his head was turned. This sent a well deserved incentive for the others to get involved too. Liannah whipped her tail around and indulged with the two coyotes that had tried to surround her, failing effortlessly of course, whilst Karper hit the the ground and used his back legs to kick with all his might, swinging his head upward in an attempt to fling them off of his build. All he needed was enough space to retaliate, just enough space to retaliate. He could hear Liannah emit a yelp as they snapped at her. Throwing himself over her sides, he grasped hold of the more gray looking pack member. Giving his Lead huntress a time frame to shove his own attacked like a bull charging out of a ring.
After a few minutes the small canids cried out as they began to retreat, Karper nipped at their heels as he gave them a small chase to send them off. Liannah swung her head around, as the lead coyote pulled away, and tuft of fur caught in-between her lips. As they gazed off into the distance, the blonde spat said tuft like it never bothered her. "Filthy, vermin.." she grumbled in irritation.
"Come on, we gotta go." She commanded as she turned around and walked past the male, as tempting as it was to try tracking the buck, they had to report pack to their pack. It was high time they made their return as well. "Shame they didn't break skin, huh." she tried to break the ice as if to ease an unspoken tension.
Karper sighed along with her "Yeah.."
The Gray male felt he was going have to speak with his brother anyway, he figured maybe updating him would be a good excuse. That is, if Kapro was even around anymore, he's never tattled but he knows he's been sneaking borders for Thistle. He really wouldn't be surprised if he's up to his antics again, considering he gave it a rest as to ease off any suspicion that may have been building.
And somehow this man wanted to be a lead fighter... Really Kapro?
-
Having reached the bank, she gazed into the camp and briefly slunk down with a sigh, Gray however didn't feel any weight and continued his steps only to look back at her defeated form. Liannah wanted to send him off, of course, but she knew she had to face Thor herself. so she asked he update their group on the coyotes. Karper nodded and gave her a brief nuzzle in hopes of it providing comfort. As he set out for their camp and on his way through he stopped a few steps before and gazed off into the fighter's dens.
Of course... He wasn't there. Again..
Marching on he spotted Snowfall in the light horizon and approached her sleep in forum. "Hey, Snow..." He greeted briefly forgetting his formalities over his exhaustion.------------______________________________________________________________________________
Krux just stood there, pacing atop of his den while thinking, he was gonna head out to get some time for himself but he just remembered he needed to talk to Qiu about one more thing. "Ah" a tender gasp left his lips as he realized it, and began to slowly make his way down from his high point. Beginning a trot he made a straight line in the Beta camps direction. How could he possibly forget. "Qiu- Qiu!" He called from the distance, the urgency and need apparent in his voice. "Qiu, I just remembered there's one more thing I need for you to do I-" ...----------------------------------------Karper Gray / Hunter/ Male/ 37 Moons / Tags: Snowfall
