Apocalypse stared at the ground in silence. Usually, he would have snapped at Valkyrie, but her kindness made him not growl at her for some reason. But his pride was still torn; he was a fighter. A secondary leader. A powerful brute. He didn't need the help of a fae. "Yes, I'm fine," he grunted. "Just getting rid of the swaying feeling." His eyes narrowed in frustration, but he lowered his head so Valkyrie wouldn't see them.

⊱ Val nodded, keeping still where she sat. His voice hinted at irritation, like she had guessed it would. Great, she thought to herself, Now you've ruined any chance at looking good to your superiors. A soft sigh escaped her black lips as she pulled her tail closer to her, shaking her head, wishing she knew what this male was thinking, but knowing that it would not serve any use. She stood up, white legs supporting the weight of her thin frame. "Sorry... You just looked..." She shook her head, trailing off.

Lani was disappointed that she couldn't hurt someone, but shrugged it off. Going to the kill pile she smiled, "Nummy." She grabbed two raccoon's by the tail and pulled them off the pile to turn and return to Illusion with his elk leg. There wasn't a reason to why she liked raccoon so much, but she did. Her stomach made a quiet noise and she started to pad into a dense part of trees to a small pond where she sat and tore into one of the raccoons. Still wagging her long haired, steel grey tail.

Eris heard a faint rustle in the bushes behind her and whipped around cautiously. Her eyes tried to focus on where the sound came from and her ears swiveled in the general direction. Slowly and silently, she padded up to the bushes and realized that Edmee was behind them, and was approaching her and Stormurinn. "Ah, Edmee," she barked, trotting up to her. "Stormurinn and I were just gathering some herbs. Be a dear and go pick up the rest of that tansy." She flicked her tail irritably, feeling an itch start to develop in her ear. Quickly, she sat down and scratched it briefly, relieving herself of the annoying feeling. "Also, Isinn has asked us to communicate with out ancestors tonight," she murmured softly, padding next to Edmee. "We're hoping for some advice on what to do regarding the shortage of prey." Soon there'll be a shortage of wolves if the prey doesn't return, she grimly mused.

Ísinn turned and saw Edmee walk up, and nodded politely. Turning back to Eris, she smiled weakly. "I'm fine." She forced a wider smile. Pull yourself together. "Really, don't worry about me. I need to get going now," she said, "but let me know if anything comes up. I'll be hunting near the river."

Once she got there, Ísinn paused to catch a fish, but there were far less now. That's odd, she thought. However, she smelled another scent now- a rabbit! Determined not to scare away this one too, she was more slow, more deliberate, more silent. By the time she was ready to pounce, a shadow fell over the rabbit and it began to run. No! she snarled to herself, throwing her small body forward to grab the creature. Before she could, though, a hawk swooped down to grab the rabbit. Smiling, Ísinn attacked it, killing the massive bird. In the process, the hawk killed the rabbit. Killing two birds with one stone, she thought brightly, smiling. In the process, though, she lost the calf's leg. Oh well. It didn't have much meat, anyway.

Stormurinn nodded to his alpha as she walked away, then turned to face Edmee. [b]"Hey Edmee!" he said cheerfully, desperate to brighten the mood. "Do me a favor and help me hold these herbs, would you? I can't hold them and hunt at the same time." He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply, searching for any scents. His eyes widened. "I smell elk," he hissed quietly. "It's stale, but there."

On the way back to camp, Ísinn smelled something. Wolves! Then she spotted them, stealing her pack's precious supply of prey. They couldn't afford to lose any! "Stop!" she roared, fury bubbling up inside of her. She darted toward them, letting out a ferocious growl that shook the ground, then leapt for the nearest target- Illusion's neck. She knew she wasn't as strong as him, but that would have to work. She couldn't let this happen. Just please let somebody find me! I can't do this alone!

Eris stiffened as Stormurinn mentioned the scent of elk. She breathed in, trying to ignore the strong scent of the tansy flooding her nostrils. But sure enough, just barely there, was the stale scent of elk. She nodded, impressed with her apprentice. Maybe we do stand a chance, she thought grimly. "You two go and stalk the elk and see if it's nearby. If it is, try and take it down. But be careful, for goodness sakes." She motioned with her head for them to be off.
She heard a loud growl from her alpha, and Eris raced back to camp. She was astounded to find Isinn wrestling with another wolf, another wolf that did not bear the scent of the clan. She growled menacingly and pounced on the opposing wolf, biting it's hindquarters and digging in her claws into his back. "Take that, you mangy dog!" Eris growled through the intruder's fur.

Edmee paused when she was noticed, holding her breath in when the alpha also noticed her. She gave her a respectful nod, before looking at her mentor. Her right ear flicked as she listened to the information given to her and gave a smile. She padded on over to the tansy, still listening to Eris. Her jaws opened and she closed her mouth around the tansy and pulled. It easily snapped and she laid them down underneath her right paw. She wasn't surprised that their Alpha had asked for them to communicate with their ancestors. She was hungry as well as other wolves and knew that everyone was worried. When she was done harvesting the tansy she looked over to whoever was talking to her next. She wagged her tail and grinned at Stormurinn before replying, “Hey! And yeah, no problem.” She reached to take the herbs but heard Eris telling them to stalk the elk. She opened her mouth to ask her mentor about the herbs but she was gone after she heard a growl from her alpha. She looked over at Stormurinn with a confused look then asked, “What should I do with these?”

Ísinn gasped in exhaustion and she sprung back, then noticed Eris. "Thank you," she gasped, then threw herself back into the fray. This time, though, she wasn't going to attack, but rather to steal. She grabbed the raccons and elk leg, and darted away with them. Closing her eyes and praying, she threw them in the air, where they landed in a tree branch. The intruders couldn't get them there. She ignored the fact that she couldn't climb, either. That was something to worry about later, though. Right now, she needed to help Eris.

Stormurinn hesitated. "I... I think Eris went to help, so maybe we should stay here?" He was torn- he should help his alpha, but right now, prey was important too. "I think we should find those elk," he said, a bit more quietly. "Hide the tansy in that bush." Slowly, he stalked in the direction of them, signaling for Edmee to follow. He felt a bit guilty about not returning her friendly tail wag, but pushed the nagging feeling to the back of his mind. Who cares? It wasn't like he was the most socially acceptable wolf, when it came to manners. Sarcasm and jokes at others' expenses typically aren't admired by other wolves. Eventually, he saw the herd- it was small and the elk looked hungry, but they were there, and he hadn't seen full-sized elk in a long time. He glanced over at Edmee and pointed with his muzzle to a large cow elk, the most well-fed in the herd. She looked strong, very strong, but between the two of them, they could get her. "On the count of three," he mouthed. Then he flicked his tail once, twice... Three! He sprang forward, leaping in front of the elk to drive it towards Edmee. Before it could spin around, he swiped at it's neck, but it got away with nothing but a tiny scratch. He then darted back a bit to avoid the frenzy that always followed attacking a herd- bleats and squeals surrounded him and deadly hooves ran in every direction. "Don't let her get away!" he cried, running after the fleeing elk in pursuit.
