Laylay watches Star, she stands up looking around to see if Phoenix had returned, "I'm gonna go look for Phoenix, if Shadow asks where I am just tell her I went on a patrol." Laylay bolted out of camp following Phoenix's scent trail, she soon realised she was past the border and in underdog territory. She also noticed the scent of another dog, she looked around but Phoenix and the other dog were gone, it struck Laylay that Phoenix was seeing someone else. Still in underdog territory she curled up in a ball, she never even got the chance to tell Phoenix how she felt.
