Nodding, Polarus got to his paws and headed torwards the den. Once Dusk sat down he sat infront of him. " Dusk? You do know that it is my duty to become the next alpha. Right?"

Dusk settled himself down when they got to the den, listing to Polarus speak to which he responded with a hesitant nod. "How'd you figure that?" He asked, wondering what his response would be.

Polarus flicked his ears. " I'm the beta."

Dusk rolled his eyes at Polarus. "Well obviously. But why should I choose you over Bronte?" He asked curiously, a small smile on his face.

Polarus flicked his ears. " Well it was me who got everyone in the safety of their dens the other night."

Dusk nodded his head thoughtfully. "You did...not to mention you are a bit more mature." He thought aloud before his amber eyes met his. "I do believe your the new alpha." He said with a smile.

Polarus smiled gently and dipped his head. " Thank you." he said gently. " Would you mind mentioning it to the pack?'' he asked thoughtfully. " That way they will not doubt me."

Dusk chuckled and nodded. "I can do that. We'll announce it tomorrow though, I have to find a beta to replace you, the delta's aren't ready yet..." He said thoughtfully.

With a small yearling buck clamped between his jaws, Brechen returned to camp and sat down to eat his well earned meal. He only ate half heartedly, looking around at the pack between each bite.

[growl]

Vallerie frowned. "Then does the pack exist at all? Or are we just loners?" Even if we're all separated at least Aerie's still here. I'd go mad if I was all alone with wolves like that for company. She glanced at Fuir, then looked back at the ground.

Fuir, rolling his eyes, lost his patience and walked away. He wondered what he should do. He should probably travel out of these woods, maybe go back to the seaside moors where he knew familiars wouldn't welcome him but would acknowledge him anyways and the pleasant salty breeze tousled his dark fur. As he thought he wandered into a seemingly vacant field. His pelt stood out in the waving yellow grass, like a shard of coal sitting on a chunk of gold.

Sauver didn't reply, just turned and watched Brechen loping off. "Sure, give it to Dusk," he muttered to Vesper. As she too bounded away he remembered the goose again. "I still have the girl one. Do you want to share it?" he asked Mekah.

Vesper tried to thank Sauver through the feathers and the down but all that came out was a low hiss and a bit of spit. She then headed for Dusk's den, thinking that she could just leave it there if he wasn't inside. But as she came closer she could hear the distinct sounds of voices inside. She paused outside the entrance, ears pricked. "- aren't ready yet..." came Dusk's voice. She sniffed the air cautiously and became aware of Polarus's presence inside as well through the musty scent of goose. A surge of curiosity sent her bursting inside. "Hey Dush!" she said nervously. Her words came out slurred and she put the goose down, it's neck now considerably mangled. "I didn't realize you were talking to someone... I just came by to leave this for you..." Who isn't ready? she asked him in her head.
