River giggled at the wolf's realization that River was younger, it surprised a few wolves she didn't talk too frequently. And it didn't help her case of appearing older when both of her parents were passed. She offered a small smile "i enjoy talking to you Fish. You're easy to tell secrets too" she said quietly as they made their way towards the pile of prey. "Besides, i'm not that much younger" she added.

Her eyes lit up seeing the rabbit on the pile, before she could excitedly grab it, Fish already had. River's tail wagged softly in agreement to their mutual happiness over rabbit "Heck yeah" River said with a grin. She lowered her head to take the first bite as offered. She was taught never to turn it down. She brought her head back up and licked her mouth "It's amazing! Okay, you try it now" she said with a flick of her tail.

Her eyes trailed towards pawsteps nearing, River turned to see a trainee - Rain. She offered a small smile "Hello Rain!" she called softly, not wanting to disturb her if she wasn't looking for conversation but in the least wanting to greet her. River tried to be friendly to each wolf she saw.

Risen flicked his ear "I didn't scent any others near - but it is possible. " he agreed. It was odd to find one alone deer. Usually they traveled in herds so they would only be alone if lost or injured. He thought about the question Nyx asked, if they would rather track the deer or the boar. "we could try the pigs. Switch things up. Besides, Boar are more of a challenge" he said - almost excited "As long as that is what you both think would be good to catch" he followed up with.

As he heard steps approaching he looked up to see the brother, Comet. He dipped his head in greeting "Please, help yourself" he responded to the all - arounder. He flicked his tail "Nyx mention you scented boar?"

Blaze offered a small smile to Aleck as he greeted them, he felt guilty of disrupting him from the tasks he was doing currently. He let Octavia speak as he knew she was here for a more legitimate reason than to chat.

He pinned his ears thinking of the time he had an itch himself "Itches are the worst. " he commented with a shudder. "I hope it clears fast for you" he commented

Destiny wagged her tail softly as Hati had invited her on the hunt. She dipped her head in thanks "yes please, that would be incredible" she said softly. [i] "It's either that or sit around here and wait until someone needs an extra set of paws" she added in a joking tone. Overall, Destiny was thankful for having a reason to leave the camp that afternoon. She also wouldn't mind getting to know Hati a bit more, as they had only spoken in passing.

Rya nodded knowing very well that most of the informations would be forgotten quite quickly. Things like fighting and war wasn't a topic that she enjoyed so her mind erased those thoughts fast enough for her to not be burdenned by them. The female wasn't sure what she could possibly answer so she thought about it a lot. She needed to compare and analyze the words that would come out of her maw as she didn't want to get in trouble. The silence was quite... ankward? Rya wanted to be sure of her sentences making it a bit uneasy even for her.

"Right, i don't know much about fighting or war i am just a mere hunter. I try not to take action into conflicts as it is less trouble and less opportunity to get scolded. I do hope you are right these fight are no good for anyone well other than practice for the warriors i guess. But then again, im pretty sure anyone would rather have peace then fight all day long and be covered in wounds by the end of the day." She answered as best as she could. Conversing was never her thing, although she is quite amiable toward most people it doesn't mean that she knows how to hold up a conversation.

She opened her jaws to answer the other healer trainee but didn't have time to say anything before their mentor showed up. She blinked her eyes not so surprised that the healer was already sorted their herb storage "Good morning Terra, we were already waiting for you..." she said with a flick of her tail. She looked at Kotori as the healer finished talking "are you hungry Kotori wants to share something with me perhaps?" she asked the male trainee.

He narrowed his eyes "I didn't try to order you around, I just told you...you don't want to be around when the others get hungry and angry because of that..." he responded to her with a sight. His eyes looked to his half-sister Nyx there talking with Risen "hmm, well at least someone is being useful to do things without waiting for some orders" he said to her "you know we don't have a lead hunter to order you around..." he said with a smirk.

She looked over to the all-around coming for the doe Risen was caught earlier. She gave the male a smile before looking at Risen "I Meant my brother Chronos, Comet, and I are not blood-related by anyway" she responded to the hunter. She flicked her tail "sure we could see if there are still those boars to be found, I sure hope they still are...that could bring something new to the pack to eat...there is being lots of smaller preys and deers anyway" she said. She thought for a moment "Do you want to go together with me or want someone else to join us too? I don't mind either way" she said questioning the male hunter.

He flicked his ears at Risen's odd question but thought that he maybe got confused with names "thank you" he said to him. He gave smile to the two hunters and walked to the doe to take his part of the prey. He was not planning to eat it all, which was not even possible as it was still pretty big for a small deer. He took a bite as his eyes looked at the cleaning for anyone else wanting to eat.

She looked at her mentor, thinking if he was joking or not "It was just a saying, uh I didn't mean...I don't know what I even meant anyway...but what do you mean by that?" she asked "...go down via cliff than battle?" she repeated the male's words. She listened to the rest he was saying "yeah I do know about the war thing...or well I don't want to say it's war...just like we don't like each other..." she said flattering her ears "war is kind of terrible thing...but it needs both packs agreement to make the peace" she said lowing her voice into a whisper.

He took the long way to the camp, wanting to enjoy the cool weather and the silence just a little longer, before going back to the awakening camp. Thought the patrols will leave very soon so the camp could not be that noisy for long including who goes where or who stayed behind. Flicking his brown tail as he looked up to the largest trees to see some birds there hanging around, preening their feathers ' I see the spring is coming eventually' he thought to himself shaking his fur as some of the melting snow fell down to the branches as he walked past it. He blinked his eyes as the camp entrance started to show up there, only a few more steps and he could be home.

He looked at her as she joined him "any idea who could be the lucky one? I could say Octavia, but she could not enjoy that position for long and I think the job could be too much for her aging bones...likely she could not accept it either..." he responded to her thoughtfully "Maybe even Miera or Hati could be good chooses as well...what do you think?" he asked her. He then looked at the fresh-kill pile "so what do you want to eat? small? little bigger or very small, very big prey could be delicious to eat, but there is not any yet..." he said.

She smiled at Blaze and then to Aleck "I am doing fine, except that the usual itch is back though, so I was wondering if you had anything to give for that?" she asked "and yes, I will change my beddings too" she said.

She stayed there watching in peacefully, as the pack started to rise from their dens. Stretching the black-furred she-wolf stood up and started her walk toward some of the hunters she saw being alone "Good morning Miera" she said with a gentle nod and a smile. She gave a look around before turning to face the other hunter "you ready for a hunt? with me or well we could ask any other with use, more hunters means more prey right" she said.

She flicked her ears art twice the time, like trying to think if she was hearing it right, did she just call her darling? She then smiled and nodded her head "yeah, I am pretty sure I saw her a moment ago, but young wolves are fast on their moves so she may be far gone already" she said with a laugh. She flicked her tail lightly as she looked around "Oh those good days when I was still young and beautiful" she said jokingly, she was still young, but she wanted to hear how the Kass will answer to that if anything at all.

"Same. Maybe it’ll just be us for the morning, then, unless we pick up someone on the way out," Smoke said, and hurriedly started into her meal. The faster they ate, the faster they could be out of here, before someone could assign them to some boring chore. She personally would much rather be out in the forest's fresh air than stuck changing bedding because Trainees were already out training, or prepping for it.

"I mean…you’re two, right? I’m exactly twice that." Technically speaking— barely— Fish was old enough to be her mom. But DEFINITELY not mature. Fish often found herself getting along with a younger crowd than wolves her own age or above, simply due to her delayed maturity, and she was fine to act as if she were a two year old rather than at the end of what could be considered her youth. She figured it only counted if she acted like it. If she wanted to be friends with a two year old, that was allowed! "I enjoy talking to you too. You seem chill!" She took her own bite of rabbit.

Fish's gaze shifted as River called out to the young Trainee. Her Trainee. Rain was likely the wolf Fish would consider herself closest to. She hoped that one day, once Rain had graduated and become a great Warrior, they would still talk. She’d seen wolves become casual friends with their old trainers. She hoped such would be the case here. "Good morning!"

"Okay, good point," Blizzard acknowledged, the same reasons he had for his distaste. He glanced at Louve. Since she’d already eaten, there was no harm in letting her slip away, protective as he was. "Yeah, I think I saw him chatting with Rya." He scanned the clearing, finding the white fluffball in conversation with the young she-wolf close to the edge of camp, though in the snow, it was hard to spot Leo initially. He gently nudged Louve. "Go get 'im!"

Normally, beyond the nickname he had grown up with, Karter had never been a fan of nicknames. Often outright rejected them. This was Aala though. She was the exception to that rule. Honestly, Aala could probably get away with literally anything, and he wouldn’t bat an eye. "Plans for the day…I dunno. Probably get assigned to some patrol at some point. If I don’t…guess I’m goin' with some Hunters to act as a guard or somethin'. I’ll figure somethin' out. You?"

"Not yet." Arian was a Warrior, had always been meant to be one despite the fact she appeared little more than a Trainee in size, the only visible signs of adulthood being her set facial features. "Born and bred to be a fighter, but one day, somehow, this war WILL be over. I only hope it’s in our lifetimes. And my mindset in general is focused in the now, there are just moments before having to set up duties for the day where I like to hide away and imagine. It helps keep me sane, keeps me hopeful, so that I know exactly what I’m fighting for; A chance at a stronger, brighter future. We'll get there one day."

"Oh it’s hardly practice. It’s these things we practice for." Leo had always imagined the life of a Warrior would be one of glory and exhilaration and pride, he’d never expected it would be full of bloodshed and bitterness and hardship, but he was the son of their Alpha. She had never quit or given up, so neither would he. "Heh…no kidding. I’ve only been back a few months and I’m already covered in scratches and scars. We're lucky we’ve only lost a couple wolves so far." Their old Beta and Lead Warrior had fallen, but he so far hadn’t heard of many others.

With an awkward silence hanging thick in the air, Shadow cleared her throat. "Just…come see me when you’re back, if you would," she commented, fixing her gaze on Dolce. "It seems you’ve been requested elsewhere, I can wait. I’m not going anywhere." A flicker of motion caught the corner of her eye, and she flicked her gaze towards the source. The small Trainee Rain, such a precious little one, her adoptive daughter. Shadow had seen Fish elsewhere, so clearly she wasn’t seeking her Trainee yet. "Rain? Is everything alright? You’re up late."


Max | Alpha | F-Pack | Tagging: Cartel, Canary | Location: Camp


Max dipped his head to Canary when they addressed him, though when he next spoke, it was again to Cartel. He didn’t mean to snap in his Packmates' faces, but Max had learned from his father and his grandfather. A Pack as unruly as this one has to be ruled with strict rules and a firm hand. There was no room for imbalance. "There’s no need to apologize. It’s just a matter of keeping the balance as usual. I don’t hold any bitterness nor judgement towards you for asking," he promised. "If you’re looking for something to occupy your time, as Canady says, check in with Arian when you get the chance, if there are other tasks to be done, it’ll likely be her who has an idea of what can best be done. It’s been a long time since I was a Warrior alone."

Thessadowes | Lightning Pack | All-Around | Location: Camp | Tagging: Smoke

Thessadowes didn't say anything in response, but her silence was more of an unspoken agreement than anything else. Two wolves was well enough for a patrol, even if it wasn't exactly ideal. Tensions between the Packs hadn't seemed too tight recently, but there was little to no guessing-ahead for what Fire Pack could just decide to provoke. The All-Arounder watched Smoke quickly dig in to her thrush for a second, before following up and biting into her prey as well. The taste was somewhat unusual and soft, but filling at the least. Thess suspected once the hunting patrols were back for the day, her next meal would be more enjoyable.
Within minutes, Thessadowes had finished her gopher. She licked her lips clean and began to paw a little hole in the damp soil to bury the hollow bones. The she-wolf had licked out the marrow, leaving the remnants quite light and fragile.
"I am ready to leave whenever you are," she commented, patting dirt over the gopher remains.

indentationBian would never say that they were the best hunter within the pack. There were several wolves that were more skilled and experienced than them. But there were also quite a few that we less than skilled and experienced than them. No one was perfect. Shaking out their fur, the dame paused at the entrance of the pack's camp, they had been quite ghost-like with the pack after... everything. Bian was more often than not out busying themselves by hunting, or in one of their many hiding spots in the territory. It was easy to say that Bian had lost much of their confidence after their mother practically announced to the whole pack the truth of who Bian's father was.
indentation Taking a breath to steady themselves, Bian stepped forward padding into camp, two pheasants hanging limply from their jaws. Maybe the pack didn't need any more prey, but they wanted to make sure that they were useful. Quietly dropping their kills in the correct space, the lupine let their green and golden gaze wander over the camp. Maybe they could make a conversation with someone today?

indentationColor me surprised, he thought as watched the pack come to life that morning. Placing one delicate paw atop the other, the male watched as pack members paired off to eat, and as others stumbled out of the dens. As for himself? He'd spent the night under the stars, he'd always felt more at home that way. Though that may be because he'd always felt like the walls were closing in on him in the den. There was never enough space. It always felt like everyone was always touching or stepping on each other to get from one place to another. So he'd started sleeping just outside the assigned dens when he was about a year old.
indentationHumming as he stood, the male started forward stopping around the middle of the pack's camp. He raised one paw as if stepping forward, but froze, as his eyes wandered, looking for someone to find someone to patrol with. As patrolling wasn't exactly safe to do alone. Doing so in pairs or in trios was always safer, though he hadn't always believed that as a trainee.

“Ah well that’ll be fun. Anyways, you guys enjoy your little chat. I’ve got patrols to attend to” she lied but as a warrior she WAS obligated to keep their back safe. She wanted to give those two time to talk, given that deep down she felt that she was a third wheel but she didn’t overly mind. They both deserved happiness and if this was their way to it, than she wouldn’t stand in their way. “Where is Leo?” She mumbled to herself.

Smoke | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Thessadowes | Location: Camp


The young grey Warrior was eager to be up and moving sooner rather than later, and it didn’t seem Thessadowes was much different, do Smoke was quick to finish off her food as well and buried the bones. She licked the last traces of the meat's juices from her lips and stood up, shaking snow flecks out of dark grey fur. "Well, let’s head out then!" She tossed her head and headed for the camp entrance without looking back over her shoulder.

Blizzard had assumed Mick was still a pup when they’d first officially met, in all honesty. Even now, sometimes he was still astonished Mick was a full-grown adult. Blizzard had always been protective over his loved ones, even more so with Mick, largely because he was both a loved one, and TINY. He was always happy to step in and fight Mick's battles for him when needed, both verbally and physically, literally and mentally.

"You’re upset. You keep glaring whenever you look at Karter and Aala. Did they do something to offend you?" Blizzard settled down again, burying the bones of his now-finished meal to dispose of them before turning back to his friend. "Mick, I know the look you get when you’re upset. When you’re thinking a little too hard for your own good. What’s going on in that little mind of yours?" Blizzard gently nudged his friend.


Karter | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Aala, Axis | Location: Camp


Karter knew exactly what she was implying. Not because he was good at picking up on things and reading between the lines, but rather, because he and Smoke were likely the only full-fledged Warriors who fit that description and he had never once seen her even talk with Smoke. Yet she all but followed him around sometimes, he swore. "You suggestin' you want me to come with? Wouldn’t mind creepin' 'round with ya and checkin' things out," he promised.

Arian leaned into the touch, comforting and soothing. She was hardly the most optimistic wolf in the world, far, FAR from it. She was a thinker and doer alike, but sometimes that thinking took over more than she would like it to. "And once we're not at war?" She asked, glancing at him. "If the war ends in our time and we no longer have a guarantee we'll have to fight side by side day in, day out, will you still be there? When things are light?" She assumed she would be, but at the same time, she didn’t want to assume things and be sorely disappointed. "The Pack needs their leaders in a good headspace. That’s why I try to put my thinking out of the way in the early hours."

indentationThey frowned, everyone seemed otherwise occupied. So maybe I won't get to talk to anyone today, or at least not right now. They mused, trying to mentally shrug off the disappointment. Once again giving their coat a shake, the dame trotted over to an available space before laying down. Maybe this way they could contemplate, think, and reminisce? Bian wouldn't deny it, they missed their days as a trainee. Things were much less complicated then. Her family's honor hadn't been stained then. " Or at least not to most wolves' knowledge," they muttered with a huff. Shaking their head, the reddish-brown and white lupine sighed, before resting their head on their paws. Settled down, the odd canine set themselves up to watch the pack until they were needed for a hunting patrol

indentationEyes wandering once more he found his gaze caught on the small form of Arian, the pack's lead warrior, and let out a thoughtful huff. She seemed to be interacting with another wolf, Erle by the looks of it. Looking for something to do the brute internally sighed before he started padding over, tail swishing in a silent show of nerves. It wasn't that he was nervous around these two, or didn't like them, Kaz just hated to interrupt others. Silent as he came to a stop in front of the two not even half a stride away - a respectful distance. He cleared his throat, "I don't mean to interrupt, Arian, Erle, but I was wondering when patrols were going to be sent out." The battle-scarred male asked, digging dull claws into the ground as his dark gaze flickered back between the two wolves.

Louve

Louve was searching around the camp for a good long while until she finally caught a familiar scent and she padded over to where Leo and Rya were having what seemed to be a pretty laid back conversation and so she wandered over, pulling up just to stand beside him. "My apologies for interrupting you guys. I didn't have much to do and I was wandering if I could come join you both" she explained.
