A Dash of Pepper
Pepper frowned, "Don't worry, you have a choice now." he listened in silence, feeling sorrow that she had to go through so much without a break. He stayed silent, uncertain of what to reply, before he finally sighed, "Life is a difficult thing. There are many who suffer, and many who don't. Some are oblivious to the pain of others, and others care greatly. I just want to let you know, that as long as I have air in my lungs, you won't have to worry about such things." He snorted, turning his head to watch her, before averting his gaze to look around, he had to agree, the place they had found was good. In a sudden, swift movement he reared, letting out a loud whinny as he did so, claiming the territory, calling any mares, with a slight hesitation, and warning stallions to stay away from his herd. His call finished, the appaloosa stallion landed, his head arched with his silver forelock hanging in his eyes before he tossed his mane, getting rid of his nuisance of a forelock. His mind wandered to what she had said, and with a sigh he began.
"I was born on a bad, stormy night. My dam died giving birth to me, a colt. The lead mare took me in, as her own foal, a filly, had been a still born. My sire was cruel, and wanted no colts, he didn't trust them, and when he saw me, the lead mare protected me, and we escaped, she was barely alive, yet she saved my life. When I was a yearling, a pack of wolves took advantage of my adopted mother, I fought back, but she was old and weak, and didn't make it. A band of bachelors took me in, trained me as one of their minions, and I was forced to help them snake mares and destroy herds and families. When I was older, and stronger, after a particularly good 'raid', I decided I was strong enough to take them all as my own herd, quite a stupid idea. The leader, was quite angry, and chased me away, so I started a herd by myself, I only managed in getting three mares, they were not snaked, they joined by choice, but unfortunately I hadn't traveled far enough and the bachelor band snaked them from me. I left the plains, and traveled for an entire summer, and I remained a bachelor, until I came across you." He finished, staring at his hooves like an ashamed colt, unlike the strong stallion he was.

I come onto CS maybe once in a blue moon? So don't expect fast replies.
Pretty inactive nowadays as travelling the world keeps me pretty busy, but I'm here now and again for a yarn or even if you want a few pets? Feel free to make a one sided offer, although I retain my right to refuse or edit a trade if there is something I'd want to hold on to for memories sake.
