He smiles again at the praise; hes never been the center of so much before. So much... positivity. "I will eat with you," agrees the hulking dark wolf, "after I place these feathers in our nest." Subtly he lingers on the word 'our', as if it is something foreign.

Blue eyes sparkle above the scars and bright plumage. Then, he is gone.

Returning to her side he settles, "where I am from the Hydes would take from their kills as humans do and dress fairly in like manner. Blossoms in the warm, and feathers when the cold creeps into your bones. " he falls quiet, worrying the tip of his floofy tail as he considers the information hes given her.

"But not here." Those three words are soft, almost sorrowful. He fills his mouth and chews in silence.

Nebbia tilts her head as Soldier spoke, intrigued by his words. He seemed reminiscent, sad even "Perhaps that could change then? Using everything from the kill so it could better aid the pack.

Soldier looks over at her, seemingly devoid of emotion as he processes her answer. "I.. I would like to do so, yes." He doesn't recognize that he is now an Alpha alongside her, only that she is listening.

This type of power is... new.

The dark wolf smiles, "I once heard that some would strengthen their claws with bones, but I never saw it." Is admitted, "though I did see pelt lined dens and stored food. " shrugging massive shoulders as he offers the bird to his mate.

I'm still here, I've just
been working a lot this week.

Nebbia took the first bite of the bird, swallowing before she spoke. "They certainly are ahead of their time, that's very smart and resourceful. Especially now with how harsh this winter is and will be, every little bit counts." The fawn colored fae smiles as she lifted her head to look at Soldier as she spoke, sapphire eyes wide with wonder.

"Indeed, they were." Replies that dark wolf of hulking stature. "But we will make it through the winter, we always do." Although he hadn't survived a pack winter in many years.

Soldier catches her smile and offers one of his own as he drapes his head over her shoulders. "They stored herbs in a den. Dried meats. Bedding." Silence a long minute, "when first I met them I looked down on them, thought they were weak. As time went on I learned that I was wrong. "

Nebbia nuzzled her nose into Soldier's warm, thick fur before offering the next bite of bird to him. Hoping he'd share it with her. "Perhaps you could teach the pack and I how to do that? Every little bit will help, especially with the pups the pack has this winter."
