EchoKit felt a sudden surge of energy, leaping into the niche between ShadowStrike and FallowFern. This is the life, he thought, looking over at MothKit with a new expression of wonder. "Hai dere....uhm...who are you?"

[Cake.]

MothKit tilted her head to stare at the brown kit. "Hmm?" she asked.

[SolJudicator]

EchoKit wiggled against both of his parents, still staring at MothKit. "Who's diiiiiis?" he asked to either one of them.

ShadowStrike kept against FallowFern and nuzzling her neck. His answer was muffled by her fur. He blinked sleepily. It had been a long, bountiful day.

[Cake.]

FallowFern blinked sleepily. "It's your sister, dear." she answered.

[SolJudicator]

ShadowStrike kept his eyes open, breathing along FallowFern's neck and keeping an instinctive watch over his family.

EchoKit's energy didn't die down. Though he managed to stop wiggling, he started poking at MothKit. "Den I'm...your brother," he said with a smile, blinking innocently.

[Cake.]

MothKit stood, staring at her brother. "No you're not." she said, tilting her head to blink.

[SolJudicator]

EchoKit rolled on to his back and stared up at his sister who looked upside down. He seemed genuinely confused. "But....mom said so."

ShadowStrike tilted his head to focus on his daughter. Not only did she inherit his black pelt, but she already had a certain stature he was fond of.

[Cake.]

MothKit shrugged. "If mom told you that you were a bear, would you believe it?" she asked.

[SolJudicator]

ShadowStrike couldn't help but grin. Clever little one, he thought. He merely watched, stroking FallowFern's belly to ease her to rest.

EchoKit thought for a moment. "Uh....yeah....but I'm not..." he said, sitting right side up. He didn't know what to say. "Hey. You just said mom....so....if she's your mom and mine...you're my sister. Ha!" he beamed.

[Cake.]

MothKit blinked. 'Hmmm. He's right.' she thought. "Uhm. No. I was merely referring to her as mom because that's what you called her. You're not my brother." she said, wrapping her tiny fluff of a tail around her paws.
